About this house rental
Lovely lake house that sits next to federal hunting ground. This is the perfect place to hunt, fish, bird watch or just play on the lake. Boat dock is a short 10 minute walk down the hill (about a football field and wear walking shoes) Leave your boat in the water during your stay for easy access to water fun.
The house has 1 private bedroom downstairs and 2 queen size beds and a daybed with a pull out trundle, in the loft upstairs. Loft is open with additional sitting area so you have a nice open feeling with plenty of space to enjoy each others company. Bonus play area for kids in the inside tree house with a full size mattress for sleeping.
House comes ready to use as your home away from home including a washer and dryer and fully furnished kitchen. All you need are your personal belongings to enjoy a leisurely vacation weekend or stay longer.
If you are looking for a big fire feel free to use the outdoor fire pit to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. Hot tub is located on lower porch for easy access. It is closed July-Aug. months depending on weather.
The house is dog friendly, we request no animals directly on the furniture please or upstairs on the carpet. Just put a blanket under them so the furniture remains clean.
Home is in a quiet area and we would like it to stay that way so please no loud music outside after 10pm Sunday-Thursday. Phones usually do not work in the house but you can call using IM or WIFi assist calls.
Please let me know in advance if you are bring a dog. Fee is $50 for each dog, no cats allowed. There is a $150 penalty if animal rules are not followed and/or not notified of bring pet/s prior to the stay.
There are security cameras on porch and other outside areas to ensure safety of guest and property. Cameras view the hot tub, all entry doors, driveway, front, side and back yards. No cameras in the house.
All trash is to be removed from property at checkout. Dumpsters are available on the northwest side of the road prior to the right turn to leave south shore. $50 charge if all trash is not removed from the house and property. Late checkout must be prior approved or there is a fee of $75.
Hunters/fisherman must clean yard, porch, deck and house of all blood, remanence and animal/fish debris. All hunting/fishing debris shall be disposed of in the dumpster or taken with you. $200 extra cleaning fee if not done as this is outside normal cleaning.

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The wildlife was everywhere. House was great full of amenities and the hottub was grand. We wish the dock would have been more accessible. Would have been nice on the rainy day. It had damage from weather. Overall a great place to get away from the noise and enjoy a beautiful lake.

This cabin met most of our needs. Easy to get to, smooth check in, good wifi service and good communication with host. Our cons for our trip were it didnt seem throughly cleaned before our arrival, and there are not enough plates, bowls and silverware for more than 5 people, even though it sleeps 10. There is also only enough chairs to sit 5 people while eating which makes it challenging when you have a larger group. On the flip side, the host had convenient extras that we dont always see when we rent such as bug spray, sunscreen, tons of spices, and some toys and books for the littles that they enjoyed!

We loved staying at this lake house! It was very family-friendly and we felt well taken care of. The accommodations were perfect for our family! Our kids were sad to leave. Will definitely keep it in mind for future vacations!

We enjoy fishing so having a dock for our boat was a big plus for us. Also having shade on the dock aloud us to fish during the day. It happened the the temperature this week was in the 100"s so having a nice house to hangout during the day was wonderful. My husband and I really relaxed and reconnected with each other.

The house was so cute. But I loved how well stocked the kitchen was, both-with dishes pots and pans and prep foods like spices. There were plenty of blankets, towels, and kitchen towels. We had several children with us, who loved exploring the outdoors and all the toys. It was a lovely home.

A Hidden Gem
Our family enjoyed this cabin so much! It's like staying in your favorite Aunt's lakehouse while she's away. There is an amazing attention to detail and little extras that go a long way. Many condiments, spices, essentials, touches of home, etc. were well stocked.
We were there with over 100 degree heat index and were still able to enjoy the property. The cabin stayed very cool, the covered porch made the outside accessible, and access to the covered dock was a huge asset for a day on the lake. The lake is pretty quiet. I would definitely recommend renting the kayaks. All our family were beginners but we learned quickly and enjoyed how we were able to experience the lake with them. We spent most of the day at the dock. We brought our own hammocks and a couple of our own lawn chairs down there and it made it very comfortable.
The adjustable mattress in the bedroom was very nice. The loft made a great spot for all our kids. The extra powder room upstairs was very helpful. The only thing we missed was a bigger family dining area inside (space for 4 around bar). The water from the fridge was good! The cat was content to stay outside. My husband is allergic to cats and he did not need to take medication.
We were there over the 4th on July and enjoyed the fireworks done by several of the neighbors. But once we came inside, they didn't seem too loud. Also, there is low light pollution in this area, so it was a pretty good spot for us to experience the stars! This really is a hidden gem, about an hour from the edge of the KC metro. We would love to return sometime!

Very comfortable
The house was nice, comforting, clean and was equipped with pretty much anything you would need. We could not figure out how to use the TV or garbage disposal though (probably operator error ;). The house was great, it was nice to have our own private dock and my husband and the kids loved the hot tub. One thing I would point out to other people booking is that the pictures are a little misleading. It looked as if the dock was right past the back yard to me... It is not. it is across the street, you walk through two yards, through a small wooded area and down the bank a bit. It rained a lot while we were there so the trail was really slippery also. That being said, We did not have an issue, we are in our 40s, able bodied, and our children and the friends they had with them are 12 & 16. However, if you have mobility issues it may be difficult to get to the dock.

The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The only thing is that lake access is not quite as easy to access as we expected. You can't really see the lake from the house. It is a short walk away but you have to go through some VERY muddy and rough terrain and climb over fallen dead trees to get to lake and dock. Make sure to pack shoes accordingly! My flip flops were not cutting it. Overall we had a great time!

Loved finding a vacation getaway close to KC! We had so much fun on the docks and the nearby beach at the state park (about 7 mins drive away) and making s'mores at the fire pit. It is a short walk away but you have to go through some VERY muddy and rough terrain and climb over fallen dead trees to get to lake and dock. Make sure to pack shoes accordingly! When we got there, there was a lot of signs that said don't touch, don't eat this, etc. I guess there's nothing wrong with that, but it just made us feel 'not at home.'
When we were there the owners decided to mow. We were only there for a day and a half, so it didn't make sense to us. It felt like they were checking on us. The wather was good all week and the grass was not that long, no reason to mow while we were there for less than 2 days.
The lake is more than a short walk down the hill. Must go through someone else's yard or on a gravel road. Then walk thru mud. Not really 'beach' like. Obviously no way around this, just nature.. but the water was low so the dock was not really accessible other than by kayaking over to it.
Overall it's not a bad place to stay by any means. And if you had a large group and an actual boat that'd you'd be on the lake a lot, it'd probably be great. Just not what we thought we'd be getting.

Great lake house - everything we needed!
What a gem at Pomona Lake! Modern lake house but with all the comforts of home. Totally enough space for our family of four -- a few more people could've stayed in the loft as well, but our boys were happy using it as "their floor" :-) The lake itself was super high because of lots of rain in these past few months, but there were tons of games and other fun things to do at the house and in the super huge front yard. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Made the best of it
In spite of bad timing with weather and rain causing closures of surrounding lake and trails, we thoroughly enjoyed our ladies trip at this property. The home is cozy and held 10 of us well. Beds are super cozy which is a huge plus. The outdoor areas provided us with all we needed to at least be outside. Many fire pit options which is everything to us. Hot tub was leaking but still worked and did the trick. Just what my body needed. Loved having all the doggies from the neighborhood visit and the cats. Really appreciated the space provided and the surrounding area is beautiful.

Upon arrival we realized the hot tub didn't have any water in it. Within 15 minutes we recieved a message that said "sorry the hot tub isn't working but we will work on it by noon tomorrow." Bummer that's why we booked our stay at this place but ok. We proceed to make dinner and find that the grill is dirty and there is no brush to clean it we also had to remove a very rusty rack just to get it to close. We decided to make our potatoes in the oven and it to was dirty and took almost 2 hours to cook them. The next day a man comes to "fix" the hot tub and also tells us he will be working on the roof for a few hours while we are there! After saying we preferred he waited until we were gone the next day he went back to work on the hot tub. After working on (with a lengthy break where we saw no one one for a couple hours) he came back and said he had it working only to say awhile later it wasn't working and he had to try something else. After messing with a little while longer it was fixed....but not really. They never got it working which is again the reason we booked this place....one of the amenities listed was a hot tub. After a bit of back and forth and multiple conversations my husband got the owner to give us a 24% refund. As far as cleanliness there were cobwebs and previously mentioned the oven and grill.
