This place is an affordable, accommodating option for a brief trip to Madurai.

Our room was affordable and pleasant and provided us with enough space. Our hosts were also friendly and flexible, allowing us to check in a few hours ahead of schedule after our train's early arrival and helping us arrange a cab to the airport on our departure.

The homestay is quite far from the Madurai city center, and my friend and I often had trouble convincing auto-rickshaws to drive us to or from our destination (neither Ola nor Uber work well in Madurai). We also initially thought that our room was only accessible by walking through the living room of the family hosting us (the family only clarified on our last day that there was a separate, partially hidden entrance to the area with our room).

マドゥライに泊まる時はまた訪れたいと思う宿泊施設です。

オーナーの家族がとても良い方々で、困った時いつも助けてくれました。朝ごはんが最高に美味しいです。ドーサ、ワダ、ココナッツチャトニ、サンバルあさからご馳走です。綺麗に掃除されています。シャワーのお湯もしっかりでます。

少し街に行くのに遠いです。

Súper amables!!

La familia es maravillosa. Son súper simpáticos, y como viajaba sola fueron muy cariñosos conmigo. El lugar es muy apropiado para mochileros. Me alojé en un apartamento independiente que era super espacioso y tenía A/C. Me hicieron desayuno indio y continental buenísimo!! Y super amables me pidieron y organizaron un taxi para el aeropuerto. Mil gracias!!

En Europa estamos acostumbrados a mayor limpieza en los baños, pero estaba bien!

L hospitalité indienne

Quelle magnifique expérience dans cette homestay ! Elle est à taille humaine, c est-à-dire qu il y a seulement un dortoir de 4 et une chambre. On a fait de formidables rencontres. Les hôtes sont hypers gentils et vous donnent plein de bons conseils sur la ville et un coup de main si vous avez besoin. Les lits sont très confos et la chambre est propre. Ça fait 3 mois que je voyage en Inde et j ai rarement eu un séjour de cette qualité 🙏 Je recommande à mille pourcent 🥰

Great homestay experience

Everyone was very welcoming and available to solve any necessity or doubt. I got to experience Pongal together and it was such a great experience. Since there are both rooms and dorm it gives you the chance to meet other travelers too. Highly recommended.

Comfortable and tidy homestay with lovely hosts

Very clean, nice terrace, comfortable bed, friendly and caring hosts, good neighbourhood. We also had breakfast cooked by the host and it was very good and fulfilling.

Location, as we had to take taxi to get to the city center. Not so many food options, but the ones available have tasty food

Tranquil stay with little downfalls

The rooms and communal area upstairs is clean and well maintained just like on the photos, a great place to meet fellow travellers. It is set in a quiet, leafy residential area away from the noise and dust of Madurai. The breakfast downstairs in the family kitchen was tasty and plentiful. There was a little book with suggestions for sightseeing and advice regarding places to eat nearby

The trek from central Madurai was a bit annoying, even more so the continuous rip offs or even scams of tuk tuk drivers, trying their hardest to squeeze an extra Rupie out of us. Sadly, we only had a few nice and courteous drivers in this city. The recommended restaurants in the area were not great and meant a walk through dark alleyways (not recommended for single travelling women), so it’s either eating in the city of ordering food. The eating area for breakfast could be cleaner

Quiet area in clean comfortable homestay.

Lovely hosts, very welcoming. Dinner was delicious. Very helpfull with advice and local knowledge. Got me a coffee at 530am because I had an early start 👍 Room size is what you would expect in a homestay but had everything I needed including a large patio area and great view of the lake. I'd stay again if I'm ever in Madurai.

Two things worth mentioning. In the interests of private and easy accessibility to the accomodation area they have installed a spiral staircase. If you are elderly or at least not so spritely you might find this a challenge. I'm 67 and it didn't worry me. The alternative would be the entrance through the house I guess. The other thing is the poor state of the main road leading to the homestay... I didn't mind at all and I mainly use tuk tuks ......

Lovely stay with a lovely family. Clean room, great AC, and helpful owners. They serve really good breakfasts too!

It's far from the city center, though it was an interesting experience to stay in a residential neighborhood.

The friendliness of aunty and uncle is the best part of the place. They were warm and always ready to help! I checked in early but they were accommodating. I stayed only a day but it was a pleasure!

The hosts were really friendly. The rooms were clean and the amenities were good. There’s also a nice sit out area outside of the room where we can hang out and have a cup of coffee. The neighbourhood is pretty calm and noise free.

pure love

i felt so confortable at this wonderful place. the hosts are amazing and understand what it means to host. i was in madurai for an eye surgery and was recovering from it a few days at criston homestay. lucky me because i enjoyed it so much. incredibly good food, good tea, best dosa in the universe, nirmala and vijaian are so kind and offered me help with anything. it felt like home to me and therefore i am super grateful. if i cross by madurai again i know where i go, thank you.

Marvellous stay in 'Criston Home Stay' in Madurai!

Such a friendly welcoming family, such an excellent breakfast and dinner. We had a comfortable appartment with good beds, everything was available. Also A/C en hot water. We were in a calm street, in a calm neighbourhood. Although a bit far from the old center. But we had calmness in return. And we could use the top-roof all the time, which was a bonus. The owner fixed us a taxi to go to the airport.

The wi-fi was not that strong the first day. Afterwards it was much better! So everything was OK!

On top : the way they talk and welcome us and explaining the situation of location before comfirming your booking appreciable 1. Preferable for family stay and for whom have enormous time to spend .. 2. Its preferable for who just plans for stay and visiting for primary things 3. Cleaniness and facilities in restroom worth

since its in interior and travel amemties depends on private . Its not right place to plan outside food or any other private plans Since its dorm type . The price quite high but worth . May be some refreshing kit can be provided to compensate

Beautiful Homestay and a beautiful family! Clean rooms and a nice hang out area to meet other travellers at the Homestay! Homemade breakfast and dinner available! A little far from the main city but was nice to get to know a different neighborhood and really feel like the only tourist in the area! Learnt to ride the local tuk tuk bus too and from the city as well! Definitely recommend this family and Homestay, especially for travellers looking to get off the beaten path!
