About this cabin rental
Prairie Hollow Hideaway is a charming 3-bedroom log cabin located 1 mile from both the Current and Jacks Fork rivers. The cabin is nestled on the edge of Prairie Hollow Creek, an intermittent creek, surrounded by open fields and woodlands. It offers a remote and peaceful experience free from distractions, with 3 bedrooms and a full kitchen. Whether visiting the area to float, sight-see, hike or hunt, this cabin is the perfect relaxing getaway.
At Prairie Hollow Hideaway you can truly “hide away” from the electronic intrusions of the outside world. While there is no television, there is satellite internet service that provides basic WiFi for essential connectivity needs, such as email or WiFi calling. There is also a cell booster that may provide some 4G depending on your cell carrier. It may not work for every carrier or cell phone. (WiFi is provided as an option for essential communications and some basic web browsing, but we don't guarantee that connection speeds will support streaming content and ask that guests do not stream content due to limited plan. We also do not guarantee cell service with the booster since provider coverage and signal strength vary in our area.)
PLEASE NOTE: Price varies by guest count so include all guests for accurate pricing. Also, prior to accepting booking requests, owners require potential guests to reply to a pre-booking message within 24 hours to confirm certain listing details and house rules truly meet your needs. The guest limit is for 6 total staying on the property, regardless of age. A baby is considered as 1 guest. We don't allow camping in the yard as a means to add more guests and exceed the guest limit.
The cabin is fairly secluded from everything else around it, with only brief glimpses of activity that occurs in the area and no other houses in sight. Prairie Hollow Hideaway is the perfect escape, with an excellent location that will allow you to easily enjoy a variety of activities. It is located less than 10 minutes from Eminence, just off paved State Highway V. Your reservation includes full use of the entire cabin, the outdoor fire pit/picnic area, the mowed lawn areas around it, and the intermittent creek in front (kiddos love to explore the creek when it's flowing).
The cabin is two stories, with the second floor reached via sturdy stepladder. We do not recommend use of the upstairs for anyone with joint or mobility issues due to the stepladder, or for babies and toddlers due to the open landing on the second floor. The main floor includes a living room, master bedroom, full bathroom, kitchen, and utility room with refrigerator and washer/dryer. On the second floor, two bedrooms and 1/2 bath will accommodate up to 5 for sleeping. Each bedroom has its own dresser and closet area. We provide linens, towels, soap, toilet paper, hair dryer, dish soap, paper towels, and an initial supply of laundry detergent.
In total, the property has 5 beds, two of which are double beds. Our guest occupancy limit requires that at least one of the double beds be occupied by 2 people when at full occupancy. Couches are for day use only, and we ask that guests do not plan to make use of the couches as beds, because we are unable to wash cushion covers between stays like we do bedding. If your group needs separate beds for every guest in a group of 6, then this may not be the right property for you.
The kitchen includes seating for 6, and has an electric range, small oven, and microwave. It is fully stocked with cookware, dishware, can opener, coffee maker, toaster, and blender. There is plenty of cabinet space for food and storage. We provide napkins, cooking oil, salt and pepper for seasoning, and creamer/sweeteners for your morning coffee. The adjacent utility room provides a full-size refrigerator, washer/dryer (including initial supply of detergent and dryer sheets) and more cabinet space, with iron and small ironing board. A selection of board games and yard games are stored in the utility room cabinet for good old fashioned game time with your group.
The front porch runs the full length of the cabin, overlooking the creek drainage. A porch swing and Adirondack chairs provide comfortable outdoor lounging space where you can enjoy coffee on a cool morning or watch the sun go down. The porch also provides the perfect vantage point from which to observe wildlife like deer, bobcats, turkeys, and a variety of birds.
A fire pit and lawn chairs in the yard are the perfect way to end the day, stargazing or roasting marshmallows. A wooden picnic table sits nearby the fire pit, to make it easy to enjoy your meal outdoors. A cooking rack is installed on the fire pit for campfire cooking. If you bring your own charcoal, a charcoal grill is available for your use as well.
As a convenience, we provide one complimentary 5-gallon bucket size bundle of firewood for your use in our outdoor fire pit, if you should desire to have an evening campfire. However, if you would like more firewood during your stay, you will either need to bring or buy firewood, or possibly purchase additional bundles from us for $5 each. This is the same price as all the local firewood vendors, if you should desire to purchase your additional firewood before you arrive. The area around the fire pit is wooded, so we also allow you to collect any small dead and downed wood for your fire. (Please don't haul big logs from the woods to attempt to burn.)
The property is easily reached by paved state highways. The cabin is situated on the back side of the creek and is reached via gravel driveway and low-water bridge. In the event of heavy rain causing the creek to rise over the low-water bridge to a level that you are uncomfortable crossing, there is an alternate entry through the owner's neighboring driveway.
The cabin is in a quiet valley not far from owner's residence. We have house rules about excessive noise and fireworks so that neighbors are not inconvenienced. We are often nearby if guests have any needs. We will stop by near the start of your stay to ensure everything meets your and our expectations with your reservation and to answer any questions. After that, we will stay out of your way for the remainder of your visit unless issues arise.
Parking is allowed in the area designated for parking, or vehicles may be left parked on the gravel drive. We ask that vehicles not be parked in any other areas of the lawn.
Outdoor security camera monitors the driveway and parking area, primarily as a means to monitor trespassing and unexpected vehicles between reservations.
PRICING INFORMATION: Base rental price is based on occupancy by two people. There is an additional $10 charge per day for each additional individual (regardless of age), for up to 4 additional guests, for a maximum total of $40 per day above the base price for full occupancy. This allows us to keep the price lower for small groups, rather than charging the full occupancy price on every reservation regardless of group size. Please ensure you include all guests in your reservation request to get accurate pricing.
***All potential guests must submit a booking request. We will fairly quickly respond with a message describing listing details that guests often overlook initially, asking you to CONFIRM you are aware of those details and that you AGREE with the house rules prior to acceptance of the booking request. Please watch for that message and respond within 24 hours or we'll be unable to accept your reservation request.***
***From December thru March: We will consider one-night rentals for up to 2 guests sleeping in the Master Bedroom and using the main floor only, for our regular nightly price. We will also consider one-night rentals for up to 6 guests, but those will be charged a $25 cleaning fee on top of the additional guest fees.***

Amazing experience as always!!!

My husband, myself, and friends of ours do an annual float trip in Eminence every year. This is the first time we rented with Stan and Dena. The check in was easy and the directions were perfect! The cabin was very clean, very well decorated, and perfectly described. We can not wait to come back for a little R&R. This cabin has everything you could need. The firepit area was so nice with seating! There was a hose outised to rinse our things off from the river. We floated with Two Rivers, they picked us up right outside the door!

This is our third year staying at Prairie Hollow Hideaway. We love the quiet secluded cabin as our go to destination for float trips on the Current River. Stan and Dena take such good care of the property and ensure that the customer experience is fantastic. We will be back again next year.

A family member told us how nice the cabin and owners were, and we were not disappointed. The cabin and property were better than expected and the owner made us feel like family.

This Cabin is one of my favorites that I have ever stayed at! It is decorated with rustic decor which is what I love! It is extremely clean and well maintained. It has all the things to make your stay comfortable and even above and beyond with little details that make your stay perfect. Dena was wonderful to communicate with us and make sure we have everything we needed. I so enjoyed hot cocoa in the mornings watching the wildlife (deer, squirrels and chipmunks) and the nights sitting by the fire listening to the owls, coyotes and squirrels. The only thing that could make this property way over the top is a hot tub and possibly a TV (only for a little time at night). And a guarantee that the wild horses would come visit the property during your stay! ;) We will definately be back! The fall foliage is about to experience the peak of color there in the next few weeks and I would love to be staying there in mid to late October next year!

We love Stan and Dena’s place for our girls’ weekend. It’s a beautiful and cozy cabin away from everything. We love the fire pit area and the cabin and has everything you need. It’s within a couple of miles of Two Rivers. We used Two Rivers Canoe Outfitters and floated from Eminence to Two Rivers. Thanks, Stan and Dena!

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! It was remote but still a short drive from some amazing sights and hikes. Perfect for our family to unwind and enjoy each others company. We loved having a fire every night in the fire pit and spent a lot of time on that amazing front porch. Will definitely be back!!

Prairie Hollow has been the perfect location to stay for our annual Current River kayaking trip. The cabin is clean, comfortable, and beautiful. We had everything we needed there for cooking meals. Dena and Stan have been great hosts during each of our stays. This year was our 3rd time staying at Prairie Hollow. Two Rivers outfitters are literally down the road from the cabin which makes this cabin one of the most convenient places to stay to get on the river quickly.

Our family has been floating the Current river the past 6 years. We found Prairie Hollow when looking to get our of our tent for several days. This cabin and the hosts are perfect. All the amenities you need with room for a family of 5. The area is private, yet local stores are only a 10 minute drive. We will try to stay here whenever we float the Current. Thanks!

Perfect place for a peaceful getaway. Beautiful cabin that is clean and comfortable. Quiet…. Cows mooing and birds singing. Pitch black out…. which makes it wonderful to sit out and look at the stars after the fire pit each night. We did hear whippoorwills, owls, and something howling one night. Glorious if you enjoy nature!! Grocery Store TIMS nearby in Eminence had everything we needed. We are planning our next stay and top of our list is to sit on the porch each morning with our coffee…. We didn’t want to leave.

We had been trying to find a weekend to stay at Prairie Hollow Hideaway and we finally got our chance. I can’t recommend Stan & Dena’s place more! They thought of every detail and careful executed it. From a basket of snacks - to a book of trip tips. It’s all laid out. Morning coffee on the front porch was a little chilly, but worth it to hear the creek and soak in the surroundings. We didn’t have cell service, but with a boost - we were able to communicate with our kids each night. It was like taking a trip to the past, but with modern perks! Thank you for a memorable weekend!!!

First of all, the property owners were very kind and provided all of the information we could need. The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed! The kitchen was fully equipped and we lacked nothing. Everything was perfectly organized and the cabin was so cute without being over cluttered. I appreciated the signs throughout the house to remind us of what to do or what not to do! It was easier than going back through the app to read the rules or looking through the paper. The cabin was in a great location and we were able to see a lot of beautiful springs and hike some great trails. Access into the cabin was definitely the easiest of any place I have stayed at. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone!

We had a great stay, the cabin was perfect for us. We were able to easily see all the awesome sights and then come back to a great cabin. We enjoyed the fire pit along with the amazing stars that are visible. If you are looking for a cool place to spend some time, I can’t recommend it enough.

We had a girls’ weekend at this beautiful cabin. The location is wonderful for floating from Alley Springs to Two Rivers and Two Rivers Canoe Rental is just down the road. The property was spotless and perfect for our group. Beautiful location, perfect fire pit area, comfy beds, and wonderful hosts. We will definitely be staying again.

Very quiet, private, close to floating and fishing. My wife says the first day,” I would do this again”.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST 🤟🏼
Stan and Dena are the best hosts we have had the pleasure of interacting with. They provided great recommendations while we were in town and ensured we were well taken care of! Stan even stopped what he was doing on a Friday evening and brought us tools to fix something WE brought, talk about top tier service! This cabin is beautifully decorated and the cleanest we have stayed in. I can tell they are cooks themselves because the kitchen is stocked with everything you need, far beyond the “standard setup”. The location is perfect for float trips because Two Rivers is literally right down the road. The WiFi was a huge improvement from our first visit and we were delighted to have that addition. We look forward to returning to our favorite rental every year! 🤩

Great location for floating the jacks fork river
We stayed here with our 2 teenage nieces to spend a couple days on the Jacks fork River. It was very close (5 min drive) to the Two rivers outfitter which is great when you are tired from spending a hot long day on river and want the comfortable nice place to stay. The upstairs was great for our girls who love an adventure and had fun going up to their hideaway via ladder. Also it was great having a bathroom upstairs so they didn’t have to climb the ladder at night to use the restroom. Kitchen had everything we needed for making meals and picnics for the river. We loved the secluded location and not having other people around. We used the outside fire pit in the evening but I would highly recommend a fogger and bug spray as the remote location and the river tend to attract critters. Hosts have thought of everything (Kleenex, water, extra pillows, snacks, games) . They also had notes for everything and communication was great as well as great information for local attractions. We visited Alley Spring Mill,
which was recommended, and it was lovely. Great stay- would recommend for families.

A truly wonderful place to stay!
The cabin is picture perfect. It is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures! We enjoyed our stay and the location is perfect for seeing the beautiful natural sites in the area and floating on the Current River. The hosts were great at communicating. It is a place that you will want to go back to again, I know we will!

Disconnect and decompress
Hideaway from the world. Porch swing, babbling brook, can't see or hear your neighbors, and no TV. No cellphone reception and just enough internet so you could call out or check your email, but they can't call you for just a quick question. Perfect if you want to get away with an indoor kitchen and bathroom.

Great place
It was a great place to stay. Had a great relaxing 3 days. Didn’t get to do much cause the weather wasn’t being nice. But that was okay. Stan came over and checked on us after a few hours of being there to make sure everything was in order. We will be back.

A Perfect Place!
It was absolutely everything we needed and more for our short, but close to home, reset! We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, in the swing, each morning drinking our coffee and watching the world wake up.
The cabin was clean and stocked with everything we needed.
We would highly recommend it.
