We stayed for 5 nights with our family. Love the location which allowed us to swim and kayak right across from the property. 4 bedrooms and 3 baths as advertised but be aware that the 4 th bedroom and bath are a separate apartment accessed below the deck of the house. We loved it for our son from out of state. The house is dated but has what you need. The host, Max, was great with communication! I hope he will make the needed updates soon so I can give more stars.

The home is beautiful, spacious, clean, well appointed with everything you need to make your stay easy and carefree,
From high end appliances, ample tableware, cookware, paper products, well stocked spice drawer, comfortable beds and sofas, large bathrooms, fluffy towels, and room to stretch out.
There are pleanty of restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries within a 6-10 minute drive.
We especially enjoyed Zano's Italian restaurant.
And last but not least, the stunning views of Donner Lake which is directly across the street.
It's absolutely beautiful.
we enjoyed our walks along the shore.
Max, the owner is great and made himself available to answer any questions we may have had.
He also left a plate of homemade cookies on the counter and a wonderful welcome note.
What a happy and memorable way to begin our stay.
Thank you Max.

What a wonderful property and the owner really takes pride in his property. Plenty of room for my family members and such a gorgeous view to wake up to each morning with a cup of coffee in hand. Highly recommend!

Spacious house at the lake
We loved staying here! Pet friendly (we brought our cat). Big patio, lots of sleeping space, well stocked kitchen. The owner called before our stay to make sure we had directions and was overall very friendly. Walking distance to a cute ice-cream shop was a bonus!

Donner Lake Family House
Fantastic lake view and convenient location as well as multiple gathering areas made this house the right place for a multi-generation family visit. The owner is also very helpful.

The Truckee/Tahoe area was hit with historic snow fall and our trip had to be delayed by 2 days because the highways were closed. The owner kept us informed of the conditions and worked with us to extend our stay a day longer and refunded us for the one missed day. The owner and cabin were fantastic.

We are very happily to have found this gem! A beautiful view from the deck of Donner Lake and right across the street is a swimming spot, with many public piers a short walk away. The layout for the cabin is perfect for a crowd.
The downstairs sleeping area is a little apartment separate from the main cabin for privacy and an upstairs provides the same, just as part of the main house. Communication with the owner was easy and friendly. The cabin is well equipped and very clean. Would love to stay again!

Our stay here was excellent. From Max calling after we booked to surprising us with a late checkout, everything in between was fantastic. The house is as advertised and plenty big enough to sleep the group of 7 that we had. The access to the lake is very convenient (though those stairs will get ya!). The big deck is perfect for spending the afternoon on. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

We were a party of 12, and the add said this is a 4 bedroom, 3 bath that would accommodate 4 cars. When we arrived, we could barely fit 3 cars. Three men had to dig out snow for two hours in order to fit our vehicles, and luckily we had brought our own snow shovels. There was a laminated "welcome" directive that apologized for the stove not working, but that there was a toaster oven!! Clearly the stove had been broken for a while and there was no possible way we could cook all our meals for four days in a tiny toaster! The directions also said "sorry, but you can't use one of the showers, because it leaks through the ceiling!" It was also clear from the look of the ceiling that it had been in bad shape for a long period of time and not taken care of. Had I been told either of these things, there is no way I would have rented this house. Also, please be aware that the room that looks like a basement, or bonus room, with a semi- kitchen, bedroom and bathroom is NOT part of the main house. You have to go out the back slider, outside, down two flights of stairs to access it. Might be okay in summer, but it was freezing, and the stairs was iced over. There was a small plug in heater for the entire space that did nothing. The couple who slept down there were freezing and extremely uncomfortable. We were very frustrated and disappointed to say the least. We spoke to owner and property manager and the owner gave us back less then 10% of what we paid! This is a premium property as far as what it costs to rent, but until those issues are fixed and the verbage is corrected on description of property, renter beware. It's a shame, because it could be a wonderful place to stay!!

Could be great, but repairs need to be addressed.

We stayed at this house for Thanksgiving. The location is amazing. You have the view of the lake and the mountains. Perfect to gaze at while drinking your hot cup of coffee. We had a couple of incidence in the house, mainly because the house is a bit older, but it did not damper our holiday. The owner is really nice and you can easily communicate with him. I would stay here again.
