Beautiful area with outstanding view from the room. Wonderful period house with lots of quirky touches. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. We ate dinner there one night which was very good but expensive.
Room was very small but the view from the window made up for that.
4.4
Fabulous room and views, the food was delicious and catered for many dietary requirements.
The staff were all lovely and welcoming, from the bar, front desk to the restaurant .
Great location for walking trails.
Would 100% stay again and would very much like to do more than one night when the kids are bit older to explore the area.
The garden wasn’t open and although winter it was a lovely sunny day. We were hoping for a post hike pint out there.

The hotel , garden
Lots of missing food from the menu. Shared platters- plant based/ Greek very bland. Whereas main meal was very tasty- two different chefs ?
Breakfast took a very long time also.

The restaurant is fabulous and the food excellent. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
The room we were allocated could do with a refurbishment. It looks very outdated but not in a vintage way.
There was dust in the bathroom around the bath and around the tiles close to the door which caught my eye.

Very nicely presented. Warm comfortable inviting. Great location

Beautiful place to stay , Breakfast excellent and evening meal too . Staff very cheerful and couldn't do enough for you .Room clean and comfortable and well equipped. Coffee machine a nice touch .
Due to difficulties with our original booking this hotel was recommended and it was a great choice
Personally the stairs were very difficult for me as I am recovering from surgery.
There was no room service available

There was nothing we didn't like.

The hotel was in a perfect position and the food and was delicious. Our room was absolutely lovely and I slept like a log!!!

The rooks was very spacious and the low bed in the family room was perfect for a toddler (not that he slept in it!). Staff were very accommodating and assisted with requests to help us with 2 very small children.
Negotiating 2 flights of stairs with a newborn and a toddler wasn’t the easiest but they weren’t a problem and we were aware of this before we stayed.

Well-kept facilities, blending traditional hotel with more modern decor.
Fantastic food, including breakfast.
Friendly staff.
Relaxing bar area.
Spacious room.
Limited storage in bedroom for clothes (small wardrobe and no chest of drawers).
Shallow pillows.
4.4
Very spacious and comfortable room with a great bath and nice views.
Not enough storage for clothing in the room - only bedside tables and space for hanging clothing, no drawers

Great value for money. Lovely hotel at a convenient location close to great local attractions.
Went to the restaurant with fairly early reservation, sadly the sirloin steak was already sold out. There’s 50% off offer at the time of visit, however menu availability could be better.

Great location, great rooms and staff really polite and helpful.
Room was cold, booking said large double bed but was actually 2 beds together.
4.4
Beautiful restaurant and bar area. And food was beautiful
The room we stayed in called the fleetwood was smelling of damp with water running down the sides of the windows the carpet was wet, and walls damp very cold had to ask for a heater for room
4.4
Great location for beautiful walks from the door. Relaxed atmosphere, good food, lovely bar and restaurant, big car park, lovely staff, McCormick room had a beautiful view
Room was a bit cold but easily put right with a heater brought up and an extra blanket... No drama or problem
4.4
The staff are all very friendly, helpful and courteous; the food (dinner and breakfast) was great; the room was very clean; and the decor / fittings were very good, but...
The first room was very cold (no heating at all in winter with huge single glazed bay window). The second room (we were moved) was still not warm so we had to ask for an electric heater - apparently the under floor heating is set to 18 °C which is too cold for winter (the floor might be 18 but the room was not). We were eventually moved back to the first room after dinner and it was much better (it had also gained an electric heater by then) but why wasn't it like that when we arrived. Also the mattress was too hard (our mattress at The George on a previous stay was also similarly too hard, I like firm but they are as firm as a tractor tyre - my partner has very little padding on her and she ended up sleeping on her coat to cushion herself a bit)!
Overall my partner and I agreed we'd come back but definitely only when the weather was warmer, and we would ask for a room with a less hard mattress.

Great food and drink, great room and ideal for visiting Chatsworth House
had an issue with 1st room being cold but staff moved us so no problems

I stayed with my sister and the hotel and staff were fantastic.
We booked another night because the food ,room and staff was exceptional.
The beef brisket burger was the best burger I've ever had,I had it both nights.
4.4
The location was lovely but you do need a car. The food was very good and the staff were very helpful friendly and polite.
The price difference between a double room and a twin room did not warrant the extra money. It was not superior in any way.
4.4
Wonderful room, decor, food, bar, staff and location. All in all, superb
4.4
The views were amazing of Hope Valley. Our room was large and comfortable. The food lovely and they catered for my dairy allergy very well, something I find lacking in hotels usually.
4.4
Lovely location, friendly staff, sufficient parking spaces and very well finished rooms. Bedding was clean and comfy. Nice modern bathroom and powerful shower head.
Only nitpicking, but there were a couple sharp edges in the bathroom where the tiles and walls are divided by a metal strip which would benefit from some protective covers.
4.4
A great location for our visit to local landmarks
Only that because of the rain we couldn’t use the garden

Beautiful setting, amazing breakfast, nice room.
Mattress was very hard and pillows weren't particularly comfortable.
