About this house rental
Gather your people and Hideaway in Gardiner, Montana - Home to America's First National Park! This comfy vacation home is located on a hillside above downtown Gardiner, Montana just a 1/2 mile to the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Hillside Hideaway is loaded with Montana flair, gorgeous local artwork, and every amenity you could ask for (including a sauna, pool table, and fire pit) to make your Yellowstone vacation a dream come true!
Available year-round, enjoy the peace, quiet, snow and skiing in the winter; the abundant wildlife in the shoulder seasons and the hiking, rafting and scenery in the summer months. An all-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive vehicle may be needed in the winter depending on snow conditions to get to the house. Property management does plow the access, yet if arriving mid-storm if may get tricky.
This 3,900 sq foot, two-level home sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms plus 1 queen sized pull-out couch and includes 3 full bathrooms. The main floor includes a gourmet kitchen, with tons of work space and an adjacent large dining room; a living room for gathering with family and friends; a master suite; the sauna room, and another bedroom featuring two twin beds and another full bath.
Downstairs features a large family room, complete with a game area, fireplace, and pool table. The downstairs family room is the perfect place to unwind, shoot pool, play cards, or watch a movie on the huge flat screen. A full bath, three bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa complete the downstairs level.
There is a deck off the living room to sit and enjoy the mountain views of Electric Peak, the tallest peak in the northern portion of Yellowstone Park; later wander across the stone path to enjoy the fire pit sitting area. This yard will be the perfect place for your family or group to spread out and enjoy the beautiful Montana night sky. Listen closely for the owls residing in the area and/or the howls of local coyotes.
After a full-day exploring Yellowstone, you will appreciate the super comfortable beds and luxurious linens as well as so many spacious bedrooms for your family and friends to call their own.
Every wall of this house is home to beautiful artwork and photography that celebrate Yellowstone and the beautiful area we are lucky to call home. Most pieces are done by local artists and are available for purchase.
NOTE: Gardiner is an unincorporated town of approximately 1000 year-round residents. In recent years, as tourism into Yellowstone increases, so does development in Gardiner. Therefore, you will find newly constructed beautiful homes, next to older, smaller residences. There are also some trailer homes and RV sites located in town. However, the gorgeous mountain views are visible from each and every place in town!

Everything about this house was perfect. Generously sized rooms that were perfectly decorated for the location. Everyone felt as if they were truly staying in their “home away from home.” I could see us frequenting here again. If I had any critique, it would be that the directions should use physical landmarks, rather than ambiguous terms like “alley”, as it was extremely difficult to find. Overall however, it was a fantastic experience!

This house was perfect for the six of us. Location was great and very convenient to town. Barbra was great she’s answered all our questions in a timely manner.
The house is very roomy and the view is amazing. Would love to go back.

We had an amazing experience at our stay. The lodge had a lot of amenities way over we had expected. This is the closest one for our big family group of 12 adults and one kid. The location was amazing, the host had taken a lot of care for all our details.

This is a great home for large family. We had 11 family members that fit nicely. Home looks small from outside but is very nice inside. Basement is finished and a very nice space with bedrooms and family room with pool table. Nice sauna on 1st floor. Yard is small and enclosed with very nice firepit area. It is great location for see Yellowstone Park. Like Gardner much better when West Yellowstone. Great home and great trip.

It was perfect for our stay. The location was great and we have plenty of room to spread out. Loved the kitchen, with everything we needed to fix meals for our family of 8 adults and 2 children.
Barbara was so kind, answered all of my questions and did everything she could to make our stay a success!
Our grandsons were thrilled meeting the little deer that came to the front of the house and seeing the many elk in the neighborhood.
Thank you and we would love to come back again!

We had a wonderful stay and visit with family in Gardiner and Yellowstone. The property manager was great - easy to communicate with - and the house was welcoming and comfortable. It was well stocked, with great attention to detail. The adults enjoyed the view from the deck and great room, and the kids enjoyed the game room and pool table. It was a great set-up and served us well. We highly recommend this property!

Highly recommend this rental! Close enough to walk to the park, grocery store, post office, etc. everything was very well done! Comfy beds, well appointed kitchen, tons of towels too! So nice to have shampoo and kitchen supplies provided since we were traveling from the East Coast. The snack welcome display was awesome too. The place was as described and MORE! Barbara was a pleasure to work with too. We had an awesome family vacation with 10 people ranging in ages from 6-70! Plenty of living space, basement doesn’t feel like a basement at all! High ceilings, clean, open. The views from the front porch are amazing!!! And the fire pit is lovely as well. Couldn’t ask for more from a rental or host! 10/10 would recommend! Gold stars all around! Core memories to last a lifetime!

Hidden Hideaway is a gem! So well equipped. We wanted for nothing. House is well - laid out for a large family. The outdoor space was such a bonus for the four children. The location, so close to the park was terrific! We had the best time!

We have been going to Yellowstone for quite a few years now. We have stayed in both West Yellowstone and Gardiner quite a bit. This place is our first choice from now on. I am already booking for next year.

We loved the property and location. We only stayed 2-3 days, but we loved coming home each night to a fun and comfortable home. The kids loved the pool table and activities downstairs. The three bathrooms were fantastic for the 10 people staying with us. The property is conveniently located to town and the north entrance of Yellowstone. We would definitely stay here again.

Great house, well appointed. Our group was 6 adults and 4 kids (2x70s, 4x40s, kids between 4 and 13). Plenty of space, older folks had a fine time getting around, wonderful covered deck with lovely view, good yard. The pool table and fireplace downstairs were awesome - so good to have two main shared spaces. Easy walk to the market and ither shops in town, short jaunt to the park.
Kitchen had everything we needed and we did a fair amount of cooking. Everything was clean, everything worked. No substantive complaints!

Beautiful and spacious house with really comfortable beds and social areas. It has a fun room with a pool table and a wind- down room with a sauna. The kitchen holds several cooks & helpers for creating your favorite original meals and socializing. The huge TV is perfect to review your daily wildlife and scenic images. Unfortunately, too cold to enjoy the perfect deck with a mountain view in Feb.

We have stayed here before and the home was amazing as usual. It was comfortable and has a beautiful view. The only problem was our son in law was so excited to be there he was doing elk calls and got in trouble with the locals. Which we completely understood. Our son in law learned a valuable lesson.

The house is perfect for a large group—clean, nicely decorated and well stocked. We loved it. It is a little difficult to find and is surrounded by “lower” standard dwellings but no one bothered us. We did see mule deer and Elk in the surrounding area. Barbara is an excellent host.

House was beautiful and well equipped to meet all our needs. Veiw of the mountains from the front porch was beautiful! Had some minor appliance issues, but Barbara and Allen were quick to remedy them. Overall we had a wonderful time and it is a great place to stay. Would definitely book again!

The house worked well for the 3 generations traveling together. The house was clean and the host provided most everything we needed including snacks. Don’t forget to use the bear spray in the laundry room! We saw so much wildlife! In Gardiner the elk are everywhere and in the park we saw a bear and her 2 cubs several times as well as bison, mountain goats, and pronghorn antelope! We also saw a grizzly and wolf pup through our guide’s scope. In the evenings go down to the food truck area for ice cream and music. We had a wonderful time and Barbara communicated well and answered all of our questions promptly. Highly recommend this property and host and the sauna!

This house was an amazing home base for our family YNP trip. It was very well appointed, comfortable, and easy to manage. Our boys loved playing in the yard catching butterflies and crickets in the native plants all over the yard. In addition to the house amenities being outstanding, the location was perfect. Easy to get to everything in and around YNP that we wanted to visit, easy to get home at night, and Gardiner is a great town. The town had everything we needed and some fun stuff too - rafting, restaurants, etc. I highly recommend this property for families.

We stayed for 3 nights in July and used this house as our homebase to explore Yellowstone. The house was perfect for our extended family of 12. It has plenty of room, was very well stocked with games, puzzles, and everything you'd need in the kitchen, and the yard was great for the kids to play.

We stayed in this very beautiful, very clean and very well maintained house on July 27 to 29, 2023.
We love to come back the same house again. We appreciate greatly homeowner and Barbara Bush for designing and planning everything for the guests very professionally. Everything we need was available in the house with a stunning Mountain View.
Everything was very clean and well-organized. Never seen such a clean sauna. Looking forward to returning. Thank you!

Short distance to Yellowstone North entrance and mammoth hot springs area for very convenient exploration of the park. Home is spacious, clean, well stocked, and has beautiful views. Owners had a generous bowl of snacks available as well as bear spray to borrow —thoughtful and necessary extras! Highly recommend !!

The pictures accurately portray the property but don’t do the views justice. The only reason I don’t give the property 5 stars on each topic is because it is difficult to find. Hopefully the property manager can update the directions in the check-in email to make it easier to find. Otherwise, I would definitely book this place again if we ever go back to Yellowstone!

Fantastic location for all things Yellowstone! Clean and private. The elk watching from the porch was the best. I would note that there is bear spray in the laundry room - a few of them. Check there first before you spend $50 on it at the store.
Overall - 10/10!!!!!

Barbra is a great host and this property was perfect for our group. With 5 couples staying at the property, we had enough room for all of us. Gardiner is a wonderful location to stay when visiting Yellowstone. So many restaurants close by and shopping. We were able to walk to almost anything we wanted. Wildlife were abundant around the property and it was so fun to see them every morning and evening. The home had everything you would need including snacks and entertainment. This truly was a home away from home and we stay here again in a heartbeat.

The house was AMAZING. Lots of space. Great for kids and babies. Great view. Great location for visiting Yellowstone and walking around Gardiner. The host was really kind and helpful. The driveway is really tucked in there so just pay attention to your GPS when you’re trying to get there. Highly recommend this property.
