My husband and I stayed the weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Originally, we were planning to go to the river for a couple of hours and then go into town to shop/sightsee. Once we saw the river access, shopping was out the window! We spent all of Saturday sitting in chairs in the river. It was so beautiful and so peaceful! We saw deer with fawns cross the river and come up right between where we sat and the property! Additionally, the loft is only about 7 minutes to the popular restaurants in town, making it easy to go out to dinner. We would stay here again!

We had a great getaway stay here in Wimberley. Loved our stay, house was comfy & had everything we needed. Very cute and comfortable. Host was nice when we arrived. Nice place to stay if you want to getaway!

It was cute-nice comfortable bed & good living room seating. Kitchen was well furnished.

My girlfriend and I picked this place for access to the blanco river which was a great move with all the main swimming holes in town being reservation only/closed. The blanco is a pretty warm river and not especially full but it was great to sit in and soak up sun. The owner was friendly and welcomed us when we got in. If anything the pictures undersold how much natural light the cabin has during the day which was great.
Fair warnings - the floor is a little off-level in some places which can make it feel like gravity is pulling in the wrong direction when walking, but we found this made for a more engaging experience. Also as others have noted the tp is 1-ply.
That said there were some un-advertised amenities that were awesome: I think the place has been updated a bit since the pictures were taken, including a nicer bed, and a tasteful bathroom renovation. There’s wifi if you know your way around a router, and the water pressure is great.
We loved our stay and will almost certainly come back

I messaged about details on this property. Distance to river and how much water is in river and can I kayak in it right now knowing we are in a drought. they said it can be kayaked and has more water than almost anywhere in the area. Turned out that the river bed was farther than stated and there was a trickle of water, maybe 2" deep in the deepest spot. water was dry in nearly the whole river area. Owner met me the next morning and stated she knows the booking agents lie and hoped they did not MISLEAD me on the listing. She is aware of the issue and still uses them, so she is ok with them lying about it. I do NOT recommend this property unless you just want a place to sleep close to Wimberley. add in the messy property and vehicles taking up space to park, it was not a great exprience.

Host was lovely and communicative. Property was quiet and in a beautiful neighborhood. Cabin was cozy and comfy, perfect for a pair of travelers looking for a relaxing getaway in this cute little town. So many fun things to do in Wimberley if you enjoy shopping, thrifting, being out in nature, and settling in for the night at a reasonable time.

I was looking forward to staying at this spot right on the river. As soon as we arrived it was apparent that the photos that were posted did not accurately reflect the location or it’s proximity to the river. The area around our “loft” was cluttered and it was not right on the river. The fire pit and gazebo looked completely different from the photos that were posted. The host was also very rude to the other guests also staying on the property when they were trying to relax by the fire pit. As other reviews have also stated the toilet paper was so thin it was see through. The view from the loft was terrible as well. This location was a huge disappointment. Would not recommend.

We enjoyed the Blanco River location so close to town. The property was clean and had a kind of country feel in the furnishings and supplies. We got a friendly greeting from the owner as we unloaded.
The weather was cold so we had less time to enjoy the river, which was running on the low side. The extra blankets provided were welcome, as were the generous kitchen supplies.
Quirks: the ceiling fan/light in the LR was not working. The toilet paper was unacceptably cheap and thin--fortunately another reviewer tipped us to bring our own. My partner owns a short-term-rental unit and was mystified. The wifi password did not work (there was some ambiguity about what it was on the sheet provided under the TV).
I strongly recommend that the rental agreement be made available to review BEFORE booking, through a link on the listing. The terms are many, stricter, and more punitive than I have encountered before, and the tone was far from welcoming.
When I signed and returned the rental agreement, I got another notice that it had not been returned. When I called in to investigate, it turned out that the returned form was indeed in their inbox, unnoticed by staff.
Given that we paid a hefty cleaning fee for a two-night stay, the terms specified for guests cleaning up before the cleaners were mystifying.
We didn't take it personally and we had a good time. Perhaps it reflects on the length of stay and quality of guest encountered in the past.

This loft is perfect for a girls weekend! It’s close to Wimberley Square, Market Days and the Blanco River. The loft is exactly as advertised-nice, quiet property and the homeowner is very nice. Would definitely stay here again!

Something’s are meant to be recycled but not paper into toilet paper. So thin you have to use a whole lot more so stick with old school. Take your own.

We loved this property. Cozy, compact, quiet. A fully working kitchen. My friend had the bedroom and I slept on a really comfortable sofa bed. Very clean and well apportioned.
This is my second time here and I would go back again for another getaway.
Lovely deck to have tea or wine on, a short walk to the river behind the property. This time there was no water due to the drought . But nighttime brought out a host of firefly’s.
A darling little gazebo to read a book or watch the stars.

We were very pleased with our stay. The property owners went above and beyond to make the stay pleasant (lots of little extras!)
We loved feeding the deer.
Highly recommended!

Cute cozy cottage
The cottage was really cute and cozy. Perfect for max two people. Really appreciated the cleanliness and all the amenities. We had everything we needed and enjoyed spending time on the cute front patio. We walked down to the river once but sadly it was bone dry and really grown over. The gazebo and firepit area as well as the general landscape going down to the river is in dire need of attention. Even though we thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and the price was terrific- parking was tight and the other two properties on site are a little too close for comfort.

Cabin was clean and comfortable. All the comforts you need snd expect. Was greeted by host and pictures of interior were very accurate. Only comment is that access to water was not clear and area overgrown.

New Viewpoint
I enjoyed the break from WiFi and the quiet & privacy of the property. Staying there caused me to think of the way I’m accustomed to using paper towels. By the second day of my stay I appreciated the thoughtfulness my hostess in using cloth; more elegant and useful, very clean… As I return home I plan to adopt this new way. Thanks for everything Joyce!

Cozy family get-away
The listing plus reviews gave me a complete picture of what to expect. I was a bit unsure of how to check-in, but entering the property I quickly found the owner, who kept socially distant and I didn't see her the rest of my 2 night stay. 2nd house guests were friendly and kept socially distant at the river when we were both out there, with plenty of space for both groups. The Blanco River was clear, warm, and shallow - I was not worried about tubers passing nor forcing my kids to wear life jackets all afternoon so it was relaxing! We took a canopy and chairs to sit in the river, but there was an abundance of plastic chairs you can borrow. Enjoyed my evenings on the deck and kids star gazed in a comfortable temperature, even in August! There was a BBQ grill and fire pit and I saw charcoal, but we didn't grill.

Three of my friends and I rented this house for a weekend getaway. We found the house to be very cozy as the kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and there was ample linens for the futon and daybed in the living room. The river access was great and it was very nice to sit in the clear river water for the weekend. Here is the issues we had. First, we had all brought our kayaks as the property manager said it would be fine to kayak as the water was high enough. This was 2 weeks prior to our stay and the water most certainly was not high enough. Our kayaks never came out of our trucks. The other issues are with the description of the property and arrival. The description sounds like it’s a private house to stay at however there are a total of 3 houses on the property. The owner lives in 1 and the other 2 are for rent. It wasn’t an issue at all but pretty surprising. You also have to walk past all of the houses to get to the river, so there isn’t much privacy. When we arrived, the gate was closed. No problem but there isn’t a mention of a gate in the check in instructions (it should be included). When I pulled in I waved at the owner no less than 4 times and received no reciprocation. She was seemingly annoyed that we had 3 cars but there was plenty of parking. She then started to tell me all the things we couldn’t do and was speaking to me like I was a teenager looking to party and cause a raucous. Once I told her I was 35, she stopped. It seemed like all of the things that was said should have been included in the listing. Prior to Covid, I travelled at least twice a month for work staying at air bnb’s and such. This was most hassle and poorest description I’ve had. However, we had a great time still and would recommend anyone looking for a non-private river front house, to consider this.

Great Stay
We enjoyed our stay at Bandit’s Hideaway. We only wished that the listing was clearer regarding how close you are to the river. Bandit’s Hideaway is actually behind the owner’s house. We were hoping to spend a lot of time lounging in the river. In addition, there are a lot of knick knacks and items that are not toddler-friendly under the patio.
The owner and her family were very friendly. Everything was clean. The bed was extremely comfortable! It is an old, creaky cabin, which adds to it’s charm.
In addition, the company that facilitates the stay (Hill Country Premier Lodging or something like that) were not the best at responding to inquiries. I would message with a question and it was not always answered and I would have to ask again. Or if I asked a few questions, only one of my questions was answered.

Great small home base for exploring Wimberley area
Bandit's cove is fairly small, one bedroom with a king, and the living area has a comfortable day bed with a roll under mattress and a futon. All beds were clean and comfortable. The kitchen area is down a short set of 5 stairs, and had a good working oven and stove, and was generally well equipped.
The porch on the unit faces the road, and overlooks an herb garden that gets chock full of fireflies in the evening. The owner of the property lives on site, in a house that is situated somewhat between the rental property and the Blanco. Access to the Blanco is about a 50 yard hike. The area of the river in front of the hideout was flowing very well we went. Most of the river was 1 to 2 foot deep there, but there are pockets that were about 3 that you could sit down in.
There are two bridges over the blanco river that are within reasonable hiking distance, maybe a 20 minute walk. These bridges have nice places to fish early in the morning or in the last few minutes of daylight, and nice places to swim in the day. There is another large pool about halfway between the upriver bridge and the cabin, a good 15 minute hike from the cabin (stay off the shoreline to avoid trespassing! Keep to the middle of the river). If you want to fish the river, I strongly recommend a minnow trap to catch some of the minnows.
The cabin is a short 3 to 5 minute drive into Wimberley proper.
The cabin is cooled by three window units that did an excellent job of keeping the cabins cool in the evening, and comfortable during the day.
Overall, this property was an affordable and excellent base for us in our trip. We enjoyed the stretch of Blanco that the property was situated on, and the owner was extremely helpful and kind. We spent one day on the Blanco, and the other two days in the state parks that are within an hours drive (get a day pass well in advance if you want to go to a state park! They stay booked up!)
Overall, recommend this property.
