Everything went very, very well (rooms, breakfast, location), thanks to the dedication and kindness of Mary and Chris, who are great hosts. I recommend it to everyone.

What a great find. The accommodation is tucked away and feels remote but is only a couple of minutes from Glengarriff and a short ride off the Ring of Beara. Super clean and comfortable. Mary and Chris are lovely and so accommodating. Their breakfasts are superb. Best we had in Ireland. Highly recommend. We’ll definitely be back.

Nothing tp dislike about this property.

Chris and Mary were very friendly with great advice on local places to visit and eat. Delicious full Irish for breakfast, which included fresh scones. Loved the mountain view from our window. Fantastic shower.

Spacious modern room with sitting area and tea and coffee facilities and fridge filled with extra treats! Situated in good quiet location just outside Glengarriff. There was a choice for breakfast including delicious freshly baked scones. Plenty of room for parking. Chris and Mary were very attentive and friendly warm hosts. Very good value.

Cozy, warm, and tranquil.

beautiful location amongst the mountains, vegan breakfast options offered (the banana pancakes were wonderful), microwave and fridge in the room, and on top of all that, Mary and Chris are lovely people, such a sweet couple that were happy to have a chat and give local suggestions. Give them a ring/email before booking especially if you have any questions, they’re very helpful

The B&B was a bit away from the road and very quiet, but easy enough to access. Chris and Mary are fantastic hosts that took really good care of us, The room was lovely, spacious, perfectly laid out, and came with a large comfy bed. Breakfast was so good that earlier plans to go out and then eat for lunch were quickly abandoned. And each morning they gave us tips on where to go, eat, and the best routes to go to places. We felt very much at home there and will come back if we're in the area again.
Can't think of anything. It was a near perfect stay, apart from the weather :).

My partner and I loved the solitude of the area. It was very close to Glengariff town but far enough to enjoy the peaceful countryside. Chris and Mary were very welcoming, offering us a lift if we needed one to the village. The breakfast was lovely also. The room was very cozy and spacious.
I have no complaints.

Chris and Mary were wonderful hosts. Very welcoming and the breakfasts were sensational.
Was hard if tall to have to keep bending under low parts of the roof if upstairs. Awkward for shaving in the bathroom. Recommended to stay downstairs if tall.

Great breakfast, comfortable stay.

Mary and Chris were wonderful hosts. I would definitely recommend them. I would also stay there again.

We spent few nights in the family room. Everything worked well and we were very satisfied. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Chris and Mary are great hosts. They helped us with our specific needs too. Their advices and recommendations are highly valued.
One duvet on double bed is the usual setup. We would prefer 2 duvets, but it was no issue for us, so we did not ask for the 2nd duvet. If we did, then we would be provided with it, I am sure.

Lovely spacious rooms. Very friendly owners. Fab breakfast. Very quite location.

A spacious room with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Great hosts who were genuinely interested in getting to know us. Great atmosphere and excellent breakfast.
Nothing to complain about.

Chris and Mary are great hosts and we had a lovely time staying with them. The breakfast was incredible and the whole experience was impeccable.

We are very content for Mary and Chris hospitality, we had a very nice stay in Rugged Glen house. The breakfast was very good. The coast and the landscape were very beautiful in the surroundings. We would have liked to stay longer but we have to continue our journey.

Great stay in Rugged Glen. Mary and Chris are wonderful hosts who go above and beyond to host. Chris makes the tastiest scrambled egg. Gave us great local advice for where best to visit, trail walk and eat. When we were leaving, they packed a bag of freshly made scones (delish!) and brown bread for our trip home. Would highly recommend Rugged Glen.

Exceptional hosts Chris and Mary were so accommodating nothing was any trouble, Spotless well laid out double room all to ourselves, Beautiful breakfast in a beautiful location along the route of the Ring of Beara cycle we travelled down to do. Great experience, faultless really. One of those " when everything goes right" stays along Kerry/Cork border. Will be back!!!
Nothing really if I'm honest- location, facilities, welcome, food and weather all aligned.
I'm not sure you could really improve on our experience as it would only be unfair or involve nitpicking

Clean, friendly and very welcoming. Very comfy bed. The food was delicious and the hosts very helpful.

I have never met before so cozy, spotless place. Spacious, well equipped with all necessities and more over..netflix, comfy chairs, amazing view, quite and picturesque place
Not aware of anything.

Chris and Mary could not have been more hospitable. We have travelled extensively, and they may have been the best hosts we’ve ever had. Chris’ cooking for breakfast is amazing. I literally didn’t know an omelette could be that good. We were so full from breakfast that we didn’t eat a meal again until dinner!! We also liked the quietness of Glengariff. We had debated staying there or Killarney and after going to Killarney, I’m so glad we chose Glengariff. A perfect stay.
nothing.

Our hosts Chris and Mary were an incredibly warm and welcoming couple. We had a very friendly welcome from Chris on arrival and within minutes I knew we were going to have a lovely stay. The accommodation was spotless. The bed was super comfy. Although they couldn't provide any breakfast due to Covid restrictions, our mini-fridge was packed with juice, yogurt, fresh milk, fresh bread, a gorgeous local cheese and fresh butter. Plenty of tea/coffee and our towels were changed mid-way through the week (even though we were happy to keep our existing towels). Bed linen was fresh and clean and the bed itself was a dream to sleep in. We had the place to ourselves and it felt very private. A recently refurbished bathroom and shower, great power shower to wake you up in the mornings. And not forgetting Netflix - if you did fancy a night in you had plenty to choose from and not relying on local tv. Given restrictions had just been lifted in Ireland it was sometimes tricky to book a table for dinner in the local town. Chris pulled a few strings and managed to get us a table, last minute at one of the local and more sought after establishments. A true gent.
All in all, we had a fantastic stay. I would highly recommend.
Very little fault with this beautiful spot. The only thing I would say is location. If you both fancy a drink together one evening, you might get stuck for driving. That said, Chris offered to drop us into town and pick us up on any of the nights we did venture out. You could walk it (about 15mins) but the walk itself is on a very bendy and sometimes busy main road (the property itself is not on a main road, but nestled a bit further up in the hills). There is a local 'taxi' service.. one of the locals might be available to give you a lift home if you did get stuck. (Chris can make an introduction). We did decide to come home early one night, hadn't arranged a lift with Chris and the local taxi service wasn't available so the local pub we were drinking in saw that we were stuck and arranged for one of their staff to give us a spin up the road. What's not to love!

beautifully set accomadation and hosts very helpful.very good value for money

The hospitality was excellent, and we were provided with everything we asked for. The location is fabulous - a very short drive to the village and yet quiet and peaceful. We got great recommendations from Chris about things to do and where to eat locally and we felt very welcome. The apartment had a fridge and microwave and dishes and was very family friendly, as we were able to eat breakfast and lunch there when we wanted. It was excellent value for money for a family.
There was no sink for washing dishes. All of our dishes were washed for us and returned promptly, which was great, but there were a few times that we needed to rinse and re-use delph immediately.

Excellent accommodation, would highly recommend.
Only little niggle was the tea supplies were not topped up during our stay.

Great location, less than 5 minutes from the town. Quiet and peaceful location.
