Cute cottage just a few blocks from the beach. Super clean and the kitchen had everything we needed and then some! Beds were comfortable. The grill out back was a nice addition! Excellent value. We would definitely stay here again.

House is clean and pleasant, close to beach access!

The cottage was perfect for us and our dogs. It was clean, centrally located to everything we needed, walking distance to beach, and just felt like home. All the little details are taken care of and we were able to relax and enjoy the trip. We would book it again in a heartbeat. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!!

We loved it here! The property was very clean and very accommodating for us. We also brought our dog who loved the fenced in backyard. This was a great place for us to bring our dog with us and it was an easy walk to the beach. Very close to good restaurant and an easy drive to downtown St. Augustine. We would recommend this house to anyone looking for a beach getaway who also wants to bring their dog.

Great home in a great location exactly as advertised! We had no issues at all and loved the home and had a great stay. Thanks again!

Nice home with a fully fenced in yard that was great for our dogs.

Was better than expected, very clean, the couple of small problems were handled within 24 hours by the management team. If available in the future would definitely book this home again!!!

The house is clean and well maintained. It's in a quiet neighborhood and is close to several beaches and restaurants.

Such a cute little place. Plenty of room to stretch out and we had everything we needed. The location was perfect as I was helping friends clear out a relative's house that was on the same street. While I wasn't there for a pleasure trip, I think it would have been a great place to use as home base. Nice quiet and safe neighborhood. Host immediately responded to any emails or texts sent.

Property was perfect, minutes from everything, dog's loved the fenced yard,my wife and I the outdoor shower. The neighborhood is quiet and clean, minutes to groceries restaurants, and most importantly
the drive on beach,4×4 or all wheel!!! Only recommendations I would have is quality mattresses, they weren't terrible but needed replacing, and new cookware as the pots and pans are quiet worn-out. For the money,I certainly give 5 stars and wouldn't hesitate to stay again .

We absolutely loved our stay! Our goal was to enjoy a vacation while also having our dogs with us and this property was perfect! The home was beautiful and incredibly clean with no sign that pets had even been there. The fenced in yard overlooking the canal allowed us to enjoy playing with our dogs in such a pleasant atmosphere. Thank you so much for creating a comfortable space that allowed us to share our vacation with our beloved dogs!

Great house on a quiet street. The layout is perfect with 2 bedrooms and 2 living rooms. My daughter and I enjoyed our stay. The fenced back yard is great for the dogs. The house was clean and lots of basic items available to us (bath and beach towels, toilet paper, soaps, and detergents). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We had the perfect vacation to St. Augustine and the Sunset Canal Cottage topped it all off. It was a perfect set up for our family and so close to everything we wanted to do. I especially loved that I could travel with my dog. As an avid dog lover, it was super impressive to me that even though the place was “pet friendly,” you could not tell that a lot of dogs had visited because of how clean it was. Bandit loved his vacation as well! We loved sitting on the back porch at night after a day at the beach and watching boats go down the canal and how quiet the neighborhood was! Highly recommend the Cottage and we can’t wait for our next trip!

This house was a dream. We have a big family and it was a perfect fit, nice decor and comfy space to come back to after long day at the beach. Thanks for the experience.

This property is just as described and was a great spot for our family and pup. We had plenty of space, all th things we needed and the proximity to the beach for the price was spot on. We loved being able to walk down to the beach so easily. Having chairs available to use and not being our own was great. We ordered from Back 40 & Viola’s restaurants, both literally right around the corner, and both were great. We didn’t have any problems during our stay and we did have text communication with the property managers so their responsiveness seems to be great! The one “upgrade” I would love is a better master-bedroom-mattress… both my husband and I had a rough time with it being too squishy and having a weird “dent”/ridge but that may be personal preference. We did also appreciate the free excursion tickets that come with the property thru iTrip… we used a free ticket to the alligator farm and to Potters wax museum and enjoyed both (altho alligator farm was a bigger winner)! It’s a nice little perk! The yard was great for our border collie and the little street that the cottage is on isn’t busy at all (it’s not a thru street) so our kids could walk it safely with the dog. We did use the washing machine and it worked great and we were glad for it being available. Overall we were super satisfied with our accommodations here!

Great place to vacation. We had a wonderful time. Watched a beautiful sunset at the end of the street, on the river. Would rent this place again.

The cottage was very cute decorated in a beachy vibe. Loved having coffee out on the patio overlooking the canal. It was the perfect size for us and the fenced in back yard perfect for our dog. Nice quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Within walking distance of a couple of restaurants - we liked the Back 40 A1A. We were lucky to have great weather - walked on the beach every day, Close enough to enjoy the city of St Augustine as well. We would stay again if in the area.

Can’t say enough about this adorable home. Location is ideal, while not oceanfront, access to the ocean is within a mile. Dining options are close by. As are groceries. The house backs up to a canal which provided scenic views, and lovely sunsets. The house was extremely clean and provided towels, linens, a start up supply of paper products. For us , we appreciated having a washer and dryer available. We took two dogs and the fenced in backyard was wonderful. Would absolutely stay there again.

This place was very comfortable and very well appointed. It was clean and comfortable and close to where we needed to be. So we would rent it again without hesitation. Thank you to the owners.

The house is an older mobile home: quaint and beachy. Quiet neighborhood. The furnishing are very old though and have that old smell. The living room is not set up to be able to watch TV comfortably from the sofa. The yard was great for the dogs and the backyard canal was nice and easy to fish from, although I wasn't able to catch anything. The washer and dryer in the garage were not functional but we didn't need it. The garage inside looked terribly rundown and smelled of funky mold.
The major issue we had, which almost made us stay at a hotel, was that the home has a strong odor of must and mildew/mold. We attempted to air out the house and it did help a bit but the smell was always there. We could see a foot high watermark going around the outside of the home, so I am thinking that the hurricane Ian flooding is starting to cause mold/mildew problems from underneath somewhere. My husband and I would not stay here again due to the odors within the home and the lack of modernization. I appreciate them letting us rent the home as we had five medium small dogs traveling with us and it was not easy to find a rental unit to permit this. The stay otherwise was enjoyable. It is convenient to the beach, restaurants, and downtown St. Augustine. I recommend you try the Elk Lodge for dinner as the food was great.

We were very pleased with our accommodations. The cottage was clean and had all of the amenities we needed. The cost for our stay was reasonable. We would recommend this property. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short due to Hurricane Nicole. Our 14 day stay turned into 2 days. Due to the threat of flooding, we decided to not stay and ride it out so we headed home. We talked to a neighbor was told that the lower room and the garage has flooded before. We didn’t want to get stranded. So sorry that we couldn’t stay longer. Fortunately, we purchase travel insurance and have submitted a claim to them.

We always rent homes when vacationing as we have three small dogs. This place was made for us! The "back den" with the patio and fenced in yard were a Godsend! It was great to be able to just let them roam, knowing they were safe. Having to get up at three in the morning and walk on leash three dogs is not a vacation to me. Comunication with the property manager was spot on. All rentals usually have a two dog minimum, but I did ask if the three would be ok and was pleased to hear that we could.
The outside shower was fantastic for keeping the sand outside and made for an easy clean up when departing. The location, on an inlet was fantastic, we fished in the back yard and even caught a few! Bathrooms were clean and the main one was very large and filled with light! Deccor was beachy and really nice. I really cannot say anything bad about this property or the management. Only thing is the listing makes it sound like a quick walk to the beach. As the bird flies the home is about an eighth of a mile from the beach. However, you do have to walk a little way to get out of the development, then cross A1A and walk a little more, probably total a mile or so. I suggest just driving....you can literally drive ON TO the beach! This was so convenient! I suppose in a small car this may not be possible as you are driving on packed sand, but we had our truck, did not have to use four wheel drive and drove right on and parked, leaving much of our 'beach stuff" in the truck (ya never use all you take!) Frankly, Im glad we drove as this was an added bonus! The area was very nice, restaurants and shops close by and about twenty minutes to downtown St Augustine. We very much enjoyed this home and plan on making it our "beach" side location in St Augustine!

Needed a weekend getaway and couldn't leave our dog; this dog friendly listing was perfect for us and our active pooch. Nice big fenced-in yard that she could run around and close enough to the beach. The house has plenty of amenities and beach supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only suggestions are the sliding door needs grease on the track, better mats to catch the sand front and back doors.
8.0
It was ok, there was room for family to visit. Close to beach. Sliding glass door is still in grave need of repair. They need an exterminator for all of the ants that were coming up thru the floor boards. We sprayed the floors but the crawl space needs to be sprayed. Grill had a rusty grate and is really dirty from grease. Sheets and towels were stained. Be careful of the dryer...delicate cycle is really hot! Upholstery and pillows on couches and chairs were filthy also.
8.0
I will say that much of the silverware was fairly dirty with old food caked on them. There were dead ants here and there in the house. On Saturday, the bathroom in the twin bedroom began to smell like sewage and that smell permeated down the hall and into the kitchen, even though we followed the rules about only flushing toilet paper. We walked outside to where the septic tank is and the smell was also present outside. We used the toilet paper sparingly because there was only part of a single role in both bathrooms, so we ended up having to buy more. Also, there were no additional trash bags for the trash can other than the one that was in the trash can when we arrived. Beyond that, the only other issue we faced was that the futon in the Florida room had slats falling out of it, and we were unable to fold it from the bed position back into the couch position.

We had a wonderful stay at the Sunset Canal Cottage! The yard was perfect for our furry family members and there was plenty of space for us and the teenagers. Quick drive to the beach, which was another plus!
Thanks for being gracious hosts!!

Loved it!!!
Fantastic place, could not have been a better trip!!! Our first time to St. Augustine and it was amazing. The house was perfection with our two young kids. Comfy beds & plenty of space. We caught lots of fish out of the canal and just had the best time!!! The itrip booking for the free admission was fantastic, very helpful and we were able to do many activities for a lot cheaper than it would have been without that service. Loved every minute!!!

Fresh Flounder Right Out the Back Door!
Our family loved our stay. We caught fresh flounder right off the back. The kids loved being able to fish. The house was adorable and had everything we needed. We hope to rent it again next year!

We would definitely go back!
This property was perfect for our family of 7. My husband & I took the queen room, our 2 girls took the twin room & the 3 boys took over the sunroom. Kitchen was stocked with what we needed to cook
Location was great! We did drive to the beach as we couldn’t find a good walking route but it was only a 3 minute drive.
Be sure to walk to the end of the road by the river & watch the sunset!
