Everything was absolutely lovely.
As a lone woman, was a little uncomfortable walking through the church yard and walkway at the back of the Inn late at night.

Plenty of character and quirky features. Very stylish and comfortable room and bathroom, the Sunday roast was one of the best we ever had, delicious and generous in size. The staff was excellent and friendly.

Food was superb! Courtney was also amazing.
Maybe more privacy, the bathrooms had to have blinds down continuously as there was clear glass in the windows.

Good location as we attended a wedding at Villiers Barn. Food lovely too.
Bedroom needed bedside lamps as the main light was just too bright. We were in the room with the sofa bed.

The room décor and cleanliness were superb with no expense spared .
And the bathroom was huge and immaculate.
The mattress was nearing the end of it's comfortable life in our opinion. And although very charming the undulating floors of this very old building can catch you out at night when using the toilet. The noise level from the restaurant and bar area was quite intrusive until closing time, in fact I did go down to what was not a very busy bar on my own and my wife said she could hear every word spoken and also the staff phone conversations from the room. This is probably due to the age of the building construction and something that is not easy to resolve. After closing it was all quiet.
Breakfast we were told is served from 9 am which could be a little late for some who may have a busy day ahead. We went down at 9 am and sat in the restaurant area as told to the day before. after 5 minutes or so a young lady came through and said OH! I will try and find the front of house person for you. She returned and said " she's on her way, she's stuck in traffic behind a lorry" (Not impressed) after another 5 mins or so the lady turned up and offered us our drinks. When we asked what was included in our stay, we were told one drink each and one choice from the breakfast menu which, drinks wise we thought a bit mean. To be fair I did ask for a second tea and was given it with no charge. The breakfast was perfectly adequate but nothing special and our toast was obviously prepared from very stale bread. No fruit juices or extra toast or marmalade offered.

Had a lovely stay at the Bell Inn, so much so I encouraged my family staying elsewhere to come and enjoy a meal together. We all had a lovely time, made more enjoyable by friendly staff and great food.
Nothing comes to mind, it was a most enjoyable stay.
