About this cabin rental
Leave the city, come breath some fresh air and relax with the majestic cedar trees!
I have a nicely decorated, clean one bedroom cabin (550 sq ft) in 12 acres of forest far away from the hustle of modern life.** A queen bed in a small bedroom, sleeper sofa and loft with a queen mattress that kids might enjoy sleeping on, all with queen bedding are available for a total of three places to sleep. There are ample cotton linens, necessary kitchen amenities, dishes, wine and martini glasses, etc. and a washer and dryer.
Unplug from it all and relax in the peace of your own forest. I live up the hill from the cabin; however, the privacy of the forest hides my home. No neighbors can be seen from the cabin and the Whispering Pines Forest is pristine. ***
Watch the deer and turkeys walk by, play a game of horseshoes and use the old fashioned outhouse. Don't worry the cabin has plumbing, hot water, a toilet and shower/tub! (It is a small bathroom with a low ceiling.)
There is no T.V., phone or internet and the cell reception is spotty. You can walk up the short, dirt road to get cell reception and then log into my internet, if desired.
Unwind with a good book, build a puzzle and take a contemplative walk in the forest or nearby trail, about 5 minutes walk from the cabin.
There is easy, ample parking in front of the cabin with lots of room for your toys (boat, ATVs’, etc.). Bring your saw and fall a dying tree, if you like! Afterwards light a campfire in front of the cabin to relax.

More action oriented, head three miles down to Lake Pend Oreille at Talache Landing for a swim or to launch your canoe or kayak. Mirror Lake, a small lake, is also about two miles away for swimming and rentals of small boats or old paddle boats for $30-45 a day. Bottle Bay is a nice swimming beach with a little restaurant too.
Head into Sandpoint for restaurants, a beach walk and swimming, parasailing, small plane sightseeing, lake cruise, horseback riding, boat and bike rentals and nearby hiking and surrounding area.
**About one mile of bad, bumpy, potholed dirt road, past a couple of unsightly, junk car infested neighbors’ to the cabin. Once on the ridge of Pristine View Drive you will see the stunning Lake Pend Orielle.
***The surplus of neighbors’ dogs can occasionally bark. A neighbor runs a generator for his power (grr!!), so you can hear a low hum when outside the cabin if you are attempting to sit in silence. If you are talking and moving around you will not hear the generator.
There is a convenience store and gas station (Conoco) and Dollar Store (with some groceries) 20 minutes or so from the cabin at Sagle Road and the 95. The grocery stores are in Sandpoint, another 10 minutes north. There is a Super One in Athol 45 minutes south of Sagle right off the 95 on your way up, if you’re coming from the south.

Beautiful cabin secluded in the forest. Very clean, cute and cozy. While we did not get the chance to meet Tarin in person, she was very frendly in our texts, ready to help and quick to respond. I will be staying there when ever im in the area.

We come here every year, this place is a gem! About 20ish mins

Really enjoyed our stay, Whispering Pine Cabins has all the comforts of home but nestled in the woods. Enjoyed our trip the cabin had all the amenities and we loved hanging out by the fire after a long day on the numerous lakes around. No wifi or cell service was an added bonus for unwinding. 10/10 would stay again.

I let my hubby pick the place this time and he opted for the remote cabin in the woods. I wasn’t expecting much to tell the truth - but this 101 year old cabin was such a sweet place to stay. It really felt private and away from it all but it’s closer to town than it feels. It is also close to beautiful Mirror Lake and the Talache launch on Pend Oreille. Tarin has decorated the cabin so adorably and there are so many thoughtful touches to make our stay even better. We didn’t have to worry about our kayaks or bikes being bothered. My husband loved the place too. It’s quirky and comfortable. It stayed nice and cool and we slept like logs. We didn’t even miss the lack of TV or wifi or cellular. In fact I think that’s part of the charm. You can really disconnect from real life and just enjoy the peace and solitude and beauty of the area.

We loved the cabin. It was tucked beautifully in the woods! There was no internet connection which made it difficult for us to find information connecting us to the destinations we planned on visiting. The drive in was fun, but lengthy and dusty. We loved visiting beautiful. Mirror Lake on the road to the cabin.

We loved our stay at this remote cabin. It is very comfortable and cozy, a charming little place. Secluded in the woods with deer & wild turkey, it is quiet and relaxing. We really enjoyed sitting on the patio listening to the wind in the trees and the birds sing while having our coffee in the morning.
The cabin was very well stocked with just about everything one could need ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐.
It is just like the pictures and even better in person. You can take a short walk up the hill for amazing views of the lake. We had a great experience with our stay there.
Thank you Tarin.

In a word, perfect! The location of this cabin is deep in the woods and is very much what you dream of when you think about the word cabin. Quiet, peaceful and serene I could not have asked for a better experience or a nicer host, Tarin thought of literally everything when setting up such a fantastic place to stay. We enjoyed chatting with her and taking in one of the most breathtaking views of the lake I have ever witnessed nearly every day. The road in was a little bumpy in my heavy pickup but brought back so many wonderful memories of being with my dad in the woods when I was younger. We loved every minute we spent here and intend to be back as often as we can, spending the nights around the campfire and the days in peace and solitude. The trips to Sandpoint were a lot of fun as well, great food at Mick Duffs! The local shops were fun and the big park was a blast walk around and watch the sailboats, we took so many great pictures! I could go on and on about all the great things this cabin offers but some things you'll just have to find out for yourself. We will be back! Pete -N- Kelly

Great Getaway in the Woods
This is a great, super cute, cabin to get away from it all. Tarin is an awesome, attentive, and thoughtful host. She thinks of every detail (down to the sticks to roast marshmallows over the fire) and we felt well cared for.
We were looking for a very simple getaway and found our favorite time to be relaxing around the fire pit, having our breakfast and coffee and just enjoying the scenery and quiet.
Thanks so much Tarin! We look forward to staying again!

Fishing Trip
The cabin was in excellent shape with all the necessary amenities. The location was very nice though the road was a bit rough even for a secluded dirt road.
Tarin was extremely responsive to all my questions and helped us with a couple minor things very quickly.
Really enjoyed staying here and would recommend to anyone wanting to get away.

Phenomenal property, pictures don’t do it justice!
Cute, yet very functional cabin tucked away in the N Idaho woods! Tarin has the cabin very well stocked with lots of extra towels, bedding, kitchen items, etc. and has a very generous and polite management style. No cell reception, WiFi or TV was a blessing during our stay. We will be back!

We LOVED this log cabin and will definately stay again!
This log cabin was fabulous! It was warm and cozy, was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed and more! It's nestled in the woods which were a delight to roam and it's just a short walk to the most beautiful view of Lake Pend Oreille. The morning sun was beautiful and calming over the water, trees and mountains. There is no internet or TV at the cabin which was wonderful, but we got a connection while in town and along the road near the property. We loved sitting outside in the mornings and evenings and were able to explore Sandpoint, Priest Lake, Couer D'Alene during the days. Kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed so we cooked breakfast and dinner each day. The owner is exceptional and communication was excellent. We can't wait to visit again! We feel this place is one of the best kept secrets in Northern Idaho! We loved it!

Absolutely stunning cabin and property!!!
What should I start with?
The cabin was super cozy, amazingly clean, beautifully decorated (to include quality products from towels, sheets, utensils, etc), and “as” advertised! Ah, almost space it out; the owner surprisingly had an AC going when we arrived-not advertised!
The property was beautiful; the forest, the views, the proximity to all attraction points, and the wildlife roaming throughout. Very quiet (a few barks from nearby dogs) and we’ll maintained.
The host was super great and helpful!
We will be back!
Thank you!

Relaxing- Just what we needed
It was so nice being there secluded back in the woods in a wonderful cozy comfortable cabin. We were provided with everything we could ever need including peace, quiet and tranquility. Will definitely stay again. We didn't get to meet Tarin but we did communicate and she's wonderful. Very nice young lady.

This was our second visit and most likely not the last one! We love the place/cabin and everything around and especially the proximity to unbelievable trails. This time the most memorable was the Green Monarch Ridge Trail (rated as difficult and "Grizzly present").Definitely consider this place if you'd like to enjoy beautiful North Idaho with VERY warm hospitality and great amenities; you WILL love it!

Would stay again
Clean, well stocked and just what we wanted. We got caught in a random snow storm in October but still had a great time. FYI, no tv, cell or internet. Also no microwave. I would strongly recommend 4WD if chance of winter weather. We would gladly rent it again.

The cabin was really cute and clean.
With the mountain fires going on up north it made it a little hard to enjoy the outdoors like we wanted to.

A much needed break from reality!
I truly cannot believe the lengths Tarin went to ensure we had a truly relaxing stay. There was a slight plumbing issue while we were there and she had already contacted us and made arrangements before we even realized there was a problem!!! What a treat to be able to totally escape from the chaos of life!!

One of the BEST vacations ever!
If you are looking for a remote off the grid comfortable wilderness location while being close to beautiful trails, this is a place for you.
Very clean property with everything you may need including fancy wine glasses (bring your vodka shot glasses 😉).
Everything is very high quality from bath towels to pillows.
Definitely will be back!

Beautiful cabin
The cabin, though cozy, is very comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen. The washer/dryer was an added bonus. Although the entire area around the lake is quite developed, this cabin is buried in the tall pines (which us desert dwellers loved) and gives a serenity that is perfect to re-generate the batteries of life. Plus, as a birder I found several small species to add to my list. Several deer also wandered close to the cabin in the mornings. The highlight of the entire trip was the morning we left when a fawn bedded down just 10 yards from the firepit to wait for her mom. She just calmly watched us load up the car and allowed us to get several wonderful photos of her. Tarin was a wonderful host and very welcoming. Highly recommend.

An Amazing Cabin in the Woods
My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend away and loved every minute of it. The cabin is beautifully decorated and wonderfully shaded from the summer sun.
A couple of things that caught us by surprise, but didn't take away from our stay at all...
- there is no microwave or toaster in the kitchen. just an FYI
- all the doors are full pane glass, including the bedroom and bathroom doors, and no curtains.
- they're not kidding when they say that it is a low bathroom ceiling, lol. At 6'2" I could just barely stand upright in the shower.
Again, These are not complaints, we absolutely LOVED our stay at the amazing little cabin in the woods.
