Siltcoos Lake:
The largest lake on the central Oregon coast is also one of the region’s best fishing lakes, especially for warm water fish including largemouth bass.
and is one of the few lakes in Oregon where you can keep a wild coho salmon in season.
Siltcoos Lake is a sprawling 3,164 acres located between Florence and Reedsport in the wonderful dune country of the central coastline.
Siltcoos is one of the most celebrated largemouth bass fisheries in Oregon.
You’ll find tons of good bass cover all over the lake, including fallen trees, drop-offs.
Crappie also hang out around structure and found in shallower water during the spring.
Siltcoos is known to have good populations of less-pursued species including yellow perch, sunfish and bullhead catfish.
Trout are not the primary quarry for anglers here, but the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife does stock a modest number of rainbow trout here. Look for those plantings to take place in late winter or early spring (March and April are good times to check the stocking schedule linked below).
Native cutthroat trout also live in the lake and its tributary streams and may be kept as part of your daily trout limit.
The coho salmon fishery here opens in October and runs through December. Fishing for these fish is usually not productive until significant rainfall draws in these large fish, which most often happens in November.
There are a modest number of coho caught and kept here, but it’s a fairly unique opportunity. Boaters catch most of the adult coho, often by trolling wobbling lures in the creek channels the salmon use to return to their home streams.

beaches including popular access on South Jetty Road then the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city

coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean.

experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera!

three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are

The home was beautiful! It worked well for our extended family vacation. It was well equipped, except for a lighter to light the grill (the starter on the grill did not work). It was a very quiet, serene location with amazing views of the lake. The younger family members really enjoyed the kayaks! We would all definitely would stay there again!

Beautiful view from both levels. Enjoyed the well-stocked kitchens, comfortable beds, kayaks, swimming, privacy, even laundry conveniences. Ripe blackberries for eating the entire visit was a special treat. The ice maker and water dispenser in downstairs fridge not working and lots of stairs down to lake. Would happily stay again.

As a family of 13 this house was perfect. Utilizing 2 kitchens made mealtime a breeze and 2 family rooms gave everyone space to do what they wanted. We brought our kayaks and with 2 onsite worked perfectly. The lake is gorgeous abd we had an amazing time and we look forward to coming again soon

We had a great time! Great house to relax in or enjoy the lake!

From the second you walk in the main entrance to the huge window overlooking the river it is astounding. The entry level is set up with full kitchen TV living area master bedroom then you go downstairs and it’s repeated, a full kitchen TV with three bedrooms. I never used the downstairs level. I only stayed in the upstairs level. The bed was heaven. The room so dark at night and quiet, loved it Everything was great. The bathroom was lovely. The shower had great pressure and lots of water. my bad for picking June, I never saw the sun, so I couldn’t sit out on the patio due to the rain and mist and sprinkles. But it was a lovely quiet neighborhood. Good exercise going up all the exterior stairs from the riverfront. One small thing, the Internet Wi-Fi goes in and out. The neighbor had a stronger signal inside this house than the house wifi did. Now, if I only knew the magic time of year when I would see the sun, I’d be back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful time here with Family. The house, location and overall atmosphere we perfect. The only slight drawback are the stairs down to the dock and lake BUT it is well worth it and you will get a workout in! We will defiantly consider this house again in the future!

Perfect house for a family visit! The split levels were so helpful in keeping everyone happy. He views are amazing and the house is so much bigger in person!

What a beautiful home! So much fun. We had everything we could ever need. We did not want to leave. The view was amazing. Spring has the lake a bit cold. Test the water before you dive in, 45 degrees was a bit of a surprise. But ever so refreshing!! I hesitate to give a fabulous review… I want the house to be available when I want it.

One of our quickest trips over to our happy place.. the Oregon Dunes! Been doing this several times a year for last 17 years.. and this was one of the most beautiful homes we’ve stayed at! Very clean & pretty! We can’t wait to go back with more time!

Had a wonderful time! Lots of room and amazing views! Big kitchens, could use some new/larger fry pans but other than that it had lots of items. Great communication when we had questions! We had 3 kids and 11 adults. Fished off the dock, would stay here again!

Beautiful lake front house with kayaks to use. Very big house, comfortable for a big group

Our trip was great. The property was accurately described, having 2 kitchens was very helpful when preparing food. The property was beautiful, spacious and immaculate. My only recommendation to make this experience better is that if you are going to advertise that there are 2 FULLY stocked kitchens. Actually have them stocked with more than plates, glasses, silverware and small/medium cookware.

The house was great. It has a great kitchen and spectacular views. We were there in the winter, but if we had been there in the summer we would have taken advantage of the lake.

Thank you so much for having us at your beautiful home. We very much enjoyed the dock, kayaks, and lake! It was large enough to host our family and friends. Our other family rented the house 2 doors down, so it was a truly a fun get together.
Only negative thing was the smoke detector battery was low, so it chirped for the first few hours we were there. Called property manager and he was on top of fixing the issue. We were able to take the battery out though, and maintenance came to fix after we left.
Thank you again for lending us your beautiful home for the weekend. We would love to come back next year!

We enjoyed our time here. Would be nice to have some games such as pool and/or foosball etc for a long rainy weekend. Neighbor to the north seemed irritated that we were there. We are a super responsible quiet family so there was no reason for his very unfriendly glares.

Nice place for a larger group. Quiet - lots of deer in the neighborhood and a great view!
8.0 / 10.0
A nice home away from home. Very spacious with plenty of room for everyone! Members of my family enjoyed spending time on the decks looking out on to the lake, others enjoyed the kayaks on the lake, but everyone enjoyed the open floor plan for meals and games in the evenings.
Plenty of beds for our 10 guests, ranging from age 2 to 64. Basement beds had some obvious wear and weren't the most comfortable but did the trick.
There were a few cleanliness issues: Dead bugs on windows seals, bird poop on the deck and back window (swallows are nesting in the rafters). Dirty dishes with caked on food in the cupboards. I had to run a load of dishes before we felt comfortable eating off the provided dishes.
A register under the bed in the main basement bedroom was flooping closed and would not cool the room. My dad pulled out his tools and fixed it.
Overall beautiful, spacious, and peaceful. Would definitely stay here again!

What an incredible house for our extended family. The views are breathtaking. Great rooms and spaces with comfortable beds for all 12 of us. The kitchen was stocked with lots of good stuff and we loved being able to cook meals together and eat together in the massive great room. We used the little dock to jump and play.
My only complaint was the ladder you use climb in and out of the water was broken..

Loved the place, and Jim was very responsive to questions. It was a great experience, and beautiful location as well as a fine property. No complaints!

The lake house was spacious and clean. The kitchens well stocked. Everyone had a great time. Thank you!
8.0 / 10.0
We really loved the setting of the house. It was so peaceful to stare out at the lake. We took the kayaks out and right to the north of the house was a large patch of wild lotus flowers and lily pads. So beautiful! The beds were comfortable too.
We had some minor issues - uneven heat on the burners on the stove upstairs (the stove top is cracked) and 2 back burners that did not get very hot - but the stove downstairs worked great. Also, no propane for the grill and the canoe seats were rotted out so we could not use it. (just be aware that although it is listed as being available the seats being missing make it challenging to use for us middle-aged people ;) Finally, the very back bedroom felt damp to us (the bunk bedroom).
The house is very close to some awesome things - we loved Lake Cleawox which is in Honeyman Park. We also found the proximity to Florence to be wonderful - we ate there a few times and had great meals. We really loved the dune buggy tour as well. Driving north to some beaches and hunting for agates was a highlight too, and make sure to stop by Heceta Head lighthouse!
We would stay again - the house needs a few minor tweaks but in general, it's comfortable, large, and great location.

We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend a weekend. The home and property are magnificent! The beds and other furniture were all very comfortable. Loads of room throughout the house. We had 11 adults for the weekend and it never came close to feeling like we were on top of each other.
Thanks so much for sharing your home with us!

This was our second annual visit to this house and you can ot beat the view here! Also the separation of space is great for adult couples that don't want to be constantly engaged!

This is a great house for 2 families. Amazingly peaceful. We have enjoyed it very much. Our recommendation is that there should be one more full bathroom. on the bottom floor as there are 3 bedrooms Thx

We loved this house for us and our three adult children. Hanging on the dock was so fun and having the kayaks and other boats added to the lake experience. We rode the dunes too! It was so quiet here we all got the best sleep ever. We'll be back!

A great spacious house on a quiet lake. A perfect getaway for our family but there would be plenty of room for two families. Two kitchens, two decks overlooking the lake, and a great dock. So close to the dunes and downtown Florence.
