Location! Quick drive to the mountain means you can sleep in a little. Two floors, each with own kitchen, worked out well for our group to give the older kids their own space. Didn't use the kitchen much except for coffee and toast. Upstairs shower missing some tiles but no problem with hot water or pressure. It is however, very slippery - so advise caution and a shower mat as a worthy investment. The extra room upstairs is very pretty but quite cold. The wood burning fireplaces on each floor heated the entire house! The pullout couch in the upstairs living room came in handy. We were only there for a couple of days, arriving after warm/rainy weather which made the roads and driveway very muddy/slippery. And we left early due to impending snowstorm on our checkout date. Vacasa property mgr was very helpful and gave us a partial refund.
We found Vacasa to be generally responsive and helpful overall but nobody told us you have to download the Vacasa app to sign the rental contract before our stay - that communication could have been much clearer. Some rooms very cold - others very hot. Need extra blankets for the extra room off the deck!

House has a lot of potential. Love the rustic and rugged style. Totally the style that I would want in this environment.Had an awesome wood burning stove. Great supply of firewood. Lots of space to spread out for a family of 4.
Kitchen is in dire need of new appliances. I made a beautiful pizza one night and the very old oven couldnt reach a high enough temperature to bake it. After one hour it was half raw. I turned it up to 500 degrees and could pull the pan out with my hands.
To make matters worse, the refrigerator didn’t work. My milk soured after 2 days. I read that it didn’t work in a previous review but figured that it was fixed. I was wrong.
Guys, if you are charging 2,200 for 4 nights please make sure everything works.
Especially with COVID, we are very limited to where we can eat especially in Vermont, where many places are closed. We depended on cooking a lot at home. It became very challenging.
Also, the TV in the living room is stuck on 100 volume... so at night when we wanted to watch a movie.. it was extraordinarily loud and there seemed to be no manual volume switch on the tv. We all looked. The remote didn’t work for volume and it wasn’t the batteries.
I never figured out the heat. It simple never warmed the house. Even with the manual baseboard heat, we couldn’t take the chill out of the beautiful bed room off of the main living room.
Thank good for that awesome wood burning fire place!
Also, when we arrived, the door was wide opened to the outside. I was a little surprised since it was 5 degrees out. Maybe the door blew opened? But I had the key code and it should have been locked.
All this being said, with a few updates and a little spiffing up this house would be a gem.
Now the next guests are going to have the same problems and I’m sure they are paying a pretty penny also.

It was comfortable upstairs. Big enough
The mattress on all the beds were terrible. It was like sleeping on concrete. 4 days of no sleep.Everyone complained about this. The upstairs refrigerator compressor made loud noises then it just stopped working. This was a big problem.Couldnt keep stored food cold.Called for help, they said they would come and never did. The TV upstairs was also a problem. Called for help, they never came again. Terrible service. I had to shovel a 4 ft snowdrift just to get our things into the house. They plowed the driveway but not the entrance!
