Superb location, comfort and facilities.
I was to stay for 2 nights. Half-way through my second day the ‘manager’ WhatsApp’d me saying they made an error and another guest was arriving imminently. I had to book another hotel on a Saturday and then leave as soon as possible. Terrible organisation by them. And, all communication is done by WhatsApp with someone not even in Mérida. The working hours make it difficult to contact them also. On my departure Optima rooms said they would pay for my parking, but when I came to leave they did not answer the phone. In sum, with these types of ‘staffless’ hotels you have to work around their schedule. Ruined the excellent accommodation. Sad really.

Room was very nice for a low price. Right in the town square so easy to access everything and only a short walk the Roman architecture sites. Only a short walk between train station and bus station which was very helpful for us

I chose this property to take a little break and just be lazy and feel fabulous, pretend i'm fancy, and for that purpose, it was absolutely wonderful.
The decor of the place is immaculate. Someone really had a good time with the colors, decorations, paintings, design of the lamps, the bathroom, the whole kitchen; great.
Some of these design places are more good-looking than functional, but I found everything in the apartment worked really well.
The kitchen area has all the utilities you would need, great to cook a small meal. There is also a microwave oven, fridge, and a coffee machine with those little cups.
Access to the property is self check-in with a code for the outside door and the apartment door. There is a keycard in the room which didn't work for me. The access code worked everytime. My memory lacks so I needed to look it up everytime. HAHA
The property is right down into the center of Merida, on a pleasant square. My room did not face the square, others do.
There is no parking included and no easy way to get a car to the front door to unpack, it's only off-loading for delivery trucks.
From the property, if you walk across the old Roman Bridge, immediately to your left, but also further, is free street parking. Use your own judgement regarding safety, I'm not your dad.
I love the large TV that you can hook up to your youtube account. The TV swings around to the couch or to the bed.
The bed sleept really well. Some others have noted the detergent smell is too harsh. I agree. But after 2 days it was gone.
Hot tip: most of the kitchenware is in the cabinet on which the TV is mounted. I spent all night looking. You're welcome.
The shower doesn't drain that well so you can lower the water volume, or just put a towel by the door. No biggy.
I found the balcony a nice gesture, but it was less useable than I wanted.
Because of the loud AC unit that is on all day and night, it is not super pleasant to be there. There are also interesting types of flies there that kind of hover (seasonal thing?)
There seems to be a hook-up for a laundry machine, maybe place one there? Or include a drying rack to hand-wash some clothes and

- Really close to the city center and monuments,
- The room was nice and clean,
- The bed and sofa where comfortable (if you like harder mattresses),
- We had no contact with the staff, since it’s all automated (which is good if you don’t appreciate human contact).
- The bathroom had a constant strong smell of sewage/piping - keep the door closed so it doesn’t pollute the rest of the suite,
- Couldn’t figure out how the keycard worked, since every time we swiped it the code lock appeared red and door kept being locked, so we had to always manually insert the code to enter the room (which was also the front door’s code - make’s me wonder if the code is the same for every room, questioning the security of the suites),
- The room itself was pretty soundproof, except for the door, meaning every time someone walked in the building, you could hear everything that was going on in the corridors, and if the front door was left open you could hear all the noise coming from the street,
- The shower doors didn’t close properly, so you will leave the bathroom floor wet every time you shower. - The hot water doesn’t last long either.
- As a note, these are not big red flags, we had a good experience with the whole property itself and our stay. These are just suggestions of improvement.

We loved it. Very beautiful, comfortable and centrally located. There are a lot of restaurants and bars nearby. The bed is extremely comfy and the decoration is beautiful. It even had a balcony. Easy access with codes. You get a discount in the nearby parking. Definitely coming back!

We absolutely loved this place. It was clean and spacious! Had a super homely vibe to it, we cooked a full meal on the two hobs and relaxed watching tv in bed. The shower was glorious and very modern. The location was great with a beautiful view over the plaza and restaurants. I would go back to this place tomorrow if I could. There was a spare duvet and pillows which was very much appreciated. We also loved that the place was fully furnished!
I can rarely say this but we didn’t dislike anything!

In apartment one the bathroom sewage produces a strong smell, has to be fixed!!!!

The apartments were nice but very irregular. The access was difficult because it was a 8 minutes walk from the parking to the accommodations and then you had to go up or down stairs with your luggage to get into your lodging.
The mentioned above and that the towels were old and grey when they should have been white the bed sheets were flimsy and wrinkled. There was on soap to was your hands and even though we asked for some it never arrived. The information that we were required to give to the property for to check in was excessive and confusing. One apartment was much nicer than the other even though they cost the same. one was dark and stuffy and the terrace awful.

Location
Unpleasant smell in the bathroom and bedroom as well as the lobby area, aircon didn’t work, no coffee machine or capsules, this is usual at higher priced establishments, not even a bottle of water, residents at hotel less than 100 meters away were allowed to drive to the door to unload cases but we were not and the walk from the nearest car park with cases is not that easy
Apart from that it was great, lol
