A spacious and clean 2 bedroom condo located directly on the beautiful Caribbean ocean! When we say directly, the property has no obstructing views, traffic noise or anything that separates you from the waves crashing on the beach below you! View all the majestic colors of the water from your private balcony with panoramic views. A stunning nature preserve located directly next to the condominium offers a soft sand beach to walk along, where the rainforest meets the ocean. In addition you have views of El Yunque Rainforest which adds to the majestic feel of the island. Our condo has a 24 hour security guard onsite and is a gated community. You have 1 covered parking space provided with rental. We have a property manager who will meet and greet you and answer any questions you may have upon your arrival. Early check-in and late check-out, when available, upon your request.
The condo has a Full Kitchen that has your cookware provided. We provide fresh flowers and organically grown seasonal fruit from a local farm. 1 bathroom with bathtub and shower. Clean Linens, bath towels, hangers, dresser with drawers in each bedroom, iron and ironing board, hair dryer are provided. Simple, sleek and clean living room that walks out to views that will take your breath away on your 11th floor balcony. Keep in mind there are only AC units in the bedrooms, but we have box fans and large sliding glass doors that you can open to allow airflow through living room. Master bedroom and guest bedroom both have views of the ocean and you can listen to the waves while you sleep. Beach towels, beach chairs and a cooler are provided. A soft sand beach that you can walk for miles on, surf lessons and swimming are steps away from the condo you will be staying in. Surf board and boogie board rentals are available a short walk down the beach as well as beach chair and umbrella rentals.
Our condo offers free wi-fi, a smart television with cable, air conditioning in bedrooms and a large community Laundry room on the main floor of condos.
You are located a 40 minute drive from the San Juan airport.
Luquillo is a charming and authentic surf town that has beautiful beaches and is only a 10 minute drive to El Yunque Rainforest. Cieba is a 25 minute drive away where you can take a ferry to Culebra or Vieques for a day trip and experience some of the top ranked beaches in the world. There are so many wonderful adventures to explore in this area! Non-chain restaurants, bars and convenience stores are walking distance from condo. Farmers markets, fresh produce stands, food trucks offering authentic Puerto Rican food and festivals are often times held at the Town Plaza which is a couple minute walk from condo. CVS, Walgreens, Walmart and other retail options are a 5 minute drive away for convenience.

Our names are Beth and Skip and we have two sons Dominic (14 years old) and Roman (8 years old). We are from Minnesota where the arctic air often times out weighs the warm air! Puerto Rico is an incredible escape for us literally any time of the year with average temperatures between 80-90 degrees. We have traveled to many amazing places, but Luquillo Puerto Rico instantly had our hearts. The people of Luquillo are incredibly helpful and welcoming and the authentic vibe of Puerto Rico is strong. The magic of the Island for us is in the variety of activities it offers, it never gets repetitive. The ocean for us is healing with the sound of the waves crashing on the shore that you can hear from our condo, the soft sand our feet sink into as we walk along the beach and the fact that El Yunque Rainforest (the only tropical rain forest in the US Forest System) is visible from our condo and only a 10 minute drive away makes our location absolutely perfect! Majestic and lush the rainforest offers so much to explore with hiking and searching for the off beaten paths that lead to waterfalls! Another beautiful nature attraction is the Bioluminescent Bay in Fajardo, which is a 20 minute drive from our condo!
Even if we want a day to stay in and relax we can still feel apart of all the beauty that surrounds us by lounging on the balcony and watching the changing of the tide and the captivating sky where we often see rainbows and stars so bright it looks like we can reach out and touch them.

****Due to Hurricane Maria hitting Puerto Rico very hard a couple of years ago our buildings are currently being repaired. There may be some unexpected issues that go along with construction. Please keep in mind you are on a tiny island in the middle of the Caribbean Ocean and living amongst locals. Luquillo is not a tourism hub, it is a surf village filled with amazing character. The pool is sometimes unexpectedly closed due to construction, but the ocean is just steps away! Weather, construction and power outages are unpredictable and can happen at any time.

VRBO Rental Review - Puerto Rico Anniversary Trip ⭐
We booked this VRBO rental in Puerto Rico for our anniversary, but it was not what we expected. The photos seemed enhanced, hiding the true state of the property. Upon arrival, we were greeted by about 50 cats at the front gate, and the security guard wasn’t really “securing” anything and didn’t have info on any of the units.
The parking garage was dimly lit, and the building showed signs of age and storm damage. Despite this, we remained hopeful for the inside of the unit. Unfortunately, the elevators were extremely old and even misled us about the floor we were on. The living room had a plastic fan attempting to cool down the space, & the balcony view was far from the beautiful photo online.
In the first bedroom, the window unit appeared to have mold extending from the bottom up towards the bunk beds and ceiling. There were also open and used condiments left in the fridge, & the freezer racks were rusted. To top it off, we saw several small insects around the kitchen stove, counters, & sink. We took video of this in case of dispute.
We notified the host the same day, but the owners didn’t respond to VRBO for a week as they were vacationing in Alaska. We paid for 5 nights including a cleaning fee to only received a refund for only 2 nights!! We had to spend more money booking our stay elsewhere. We could’ve celebrated our anniversary abroad for what we ended up spending on this trip. NEVER AGAIN!!

The building where we stayed was pretty old, needing some upgrades for sure. The balcony rails looked old and unsafe. That being said the apartment was quite comfortable, everything we needed was available to us, it was clean. The part of town the building was located in was run down, but that could be due to past storms. We did not feel unsafe. The west part of town is charming, has many good restaurants and pretty beaches. The folks in town were very nice and hospitable… we enjoyed waking up to the sounds of waves… nice place, beautiful island! we loved
Puerto Rico and we will be coming back again! Thanks so much.

Loved this stay, quiet and cozy. Beautiful view, owner is very friendly and responsive. Quiet area but close enough to all tourist attractions just a short drive. Gated community with private pool was nice :)

The best part about this property is the location. It's right on a gorgeous beach (just an elevator ride and a set of stairs away). There are many restaurants within easy walking distance.
The condo also had everything we could have possibly wanted (beach toys, boogie boards, tupperware, beach chairs, reusable grocery bags). It's one of the best equipped places we have ever stayed.
We had the best communication of any VRBO stay with this host. She contacted us a week before arrival not only with check in information but also with information about the area. She provided additional information on the day of check in and touched base with us several times during our stay.
The only word of caution I would provide is to families with small children: the balcony is in a state of disrepair (part of being so close to the ocean). This is a safety concern for families with young (impulsive) children.
Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

The condo was perfect for our vacation, it was right where an endless beach for walking stretched one direction and the other direction the beach passed in front of the town. It was easy to walk to multiple restaurants, close to groceries and convenient for visiting the rain forest and other attractions.
Inside the condo was very clean, comfortable and well kept. There were plenty of towels and things for the beach. The exterior of the building and neighborhood shows wear from past hurricanes but all the people we encountered were very friendly and the area felt safe.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our recent stay in Luquillo. The host, Monica was more than gracious, responsive and informative. The property was exactly as described; all the comforts and amenities of home. I've seen other reviews that say that the building is well past it's prime, but don't let that deter you from booking at Sandy Hills. The apartment and the entire building were very clean, and secure. The stunning ocean views from the private balconies speak for themselves. The building is steps off from a very secluded beach and just a short walking distance from numerous restaurants and bars. We rented a car and it's a quick drive to gas stations, grocery stores, pharmacies, Beaches and El Yunque.

We loved the balcony especially, with the sound of the crashing waves and the beautiful view of the greenery and golden sand. We also enjoyed that we could walk to bars/restaurants. The many gates/security made it difficult for the family to move about independently (should have asked for an extra set of keys). We couldn't swim at the beach as it was too rough but enjoyed sitting on the beach and watching the waves. The property manager was amazing.

Walking from the parking lot to the condo is definitely a challenge as other reviews of pointed out, but you get used to it. The immediate culture around the condos is definitely worth this day. The buildings are a little dated. However, the condo itself was very much remodeled and modern. The host was very prompt with any and all concerns and was especially helpful prior and during our stay. The location was perfect and allowed you to have quick access to the popular touring areas on the island versus staying in San Juan.
Several casinos were located throughout the area I would go to tropical.

We loved that the apartment building was right next to a 2 mile stretch of beach that was also a national park so no development and at times it felt we had the beach all to ourselves. We did need a car to get groceries, but many options 5-10 minutes away. The property manager Monica was helpful and responsive. Great place for a relaxing hang out at the beach vacation. Loved the porch!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It was wonderful to hear the waves constantly crashing against the shore. The view from the balcony is amazing and the location is perfect for exploring the east side of Puerto Rico. Monica was an excellent host. She provided great suggestions for exploring the island and responded promptly when we had a question about the internet. The apartment was clean and we appreciated the beach toys and towels. Would diffinently stay hear again.

Very clean condo with outstanding ocean views. Basic, secure building in working-class neighborhood. We liked the "local vibe" with the stray cats and chickens around, but it's not for everyone.
This was our first trip to PR and we are glad we chose this place. We wanted a genuine PR experience not a sanitized resort and we appreciated the easy beach access and the ability to see and mix with the local townspeople.
It's a quick drive to beautiful Loquillo Beach and the kioskos. The rain forest and Fajardo excursions are also not far. We always looked forward to returning to this quiet and comfortable condo at the end of the day.
It's a bit of a challenge to first negotiate the layout of the parking garage and buildings but it's easy soon enough. Would not hesitate to book here again.

The view from here is unbeatable and the short amount of time to walk from condo to the ocean was no more than 5 min. They do lock the gates at 6 but it only takes about another 5 min to walk around the building and be right there!!! The parking was not as terrible as made out to be! There was pleanty of food in walking distance and the condo itself was easy to be comfortable in. I was slight disappointed about there not being the fruit and flowers as the description on line said as I keep these at home and thought it would be a nice touch , HOWEVER this stay was so relaxing and we would definitely come back!!

The view from the balcony did not disappoint, it was beautiful. We could hear and enjoy the waves. The listing was accurate and Monica was vet helpful. My only suggestion is to have blinds and AC in the living room. The bedroom did stay really cool though. I would stay here again when we come back!

Our unit has an amazing view of the ocean. It has all the amenities and comfort we needed during our stay. Online listing is very accurate. Thank you for providing plenty of bath and beach towels. The condo is a short drive to everything. There are grocery stores, pharmacies and lots of restaurants nearby. If you’re planning to visit El Yunque, Carabali rainforest adventure (highly recommend), bio bay tour, snorkel tour and nice beaches, it’s less than 20 minute drive. San Juan, Old San Juan and airport is just 40 minute drive. Monica, our host is wonderful. She communicated everything from checking in and out, parking arrangement and gave listings to explore on the island. In the beginning, I was having second thoughts about staying in Luquillo but glad we did. We enjoyed our stay and I recommend this condo. Puerto Rico did not disappoint!

The condo was the perfect accommodation for our trip! Monica's instructions for check-in were clear and spot on. The few times I had questions, she was quick to respond.
The location was ideal for us- just minutes away from the food kiosks in Luquillo, the beach and el Yunque.
My only suggestion would be to add blinds to the living room to help keep the temperature down.

I’d like to start off saying the view & cleanliness of the apartment is wonderful. Plus the layout is great. Property manager was extremely helpful and kind (also super easy to get a hold of!) - however no one mentioned it is a FAR walk (through a dark parking garage) from the assigned parking spot to the front door, also you have to walk slightly uphill for a portion of it. In the PR heat, was not fun. Especially getting back at night. The building is very old so the elevators are very sketchy (you get to your destination eventually) but I did have a mild panic attack trying to follow the instructions given. To my luck, Security guard saw me on the camera panicking and called me to help me. Like I said, the balcony view and apartment interior is great & super clean. But the building and parking situation made me want to stay elsewhere in the future.

The location of this property with its view was perfect. We rented a car so we were able to do activities/adventures and meals with ease. The recommendations given to us by Monica & Beth were fantastic. Monica was very receptive and responsive when we had questions. I will never forget sitting on the balcony with the amazing view.

So happy we found this rental. It worked out great for our family of 4. If you are looking for an alternative to a resort, this may work for you. The only downside was the ocean in front of the condo was too dangerous for our young kids to swim in. There were other options for swimming though and the pool was very nice. The condo was nicely kept and the building was safe with several walking distance options for restaurants. The balcony did appear in need of some repair but nothing to lose sleep over as the view is breathtaking! We enjoyed our stay immensely!

We had a very relaxing experience. The view of the ocean was incredible and we would spend hours sitting on the balcony watching the waves. There was a lot of great food within walking distance and an amazing coffee / breakfast place called coffee therapy

We cannot say enough about our stay in the condo. As everyone has already mentioned, the views are even better than the pictures and the condo is perfect- clean, spacious, and had everything we needed. The guard on duty when we checked in was extremely helpful and the other guards we met were friendly. We didn't use the air conditioning at all (mid March stay), because of the breeze coming off the ocean. The sound of waves each night was incredible! The neighborhood is charming and the cats, dogs, and chickens roaming added to the experience.
Just a few things to note: when you go to do your laundry, take a $10 bill and then add more money on the card right away. It will only take a $10 to get the card, but then we had to add more money on (takes $5s, $10s, or $20s) to finish our load. Also, things are not always unlocked at the posted times, so keep that in mind. Finally, if you are going during Puerto Rico's winter months (December-March), the waves on the north are often extremely high and there are often dangerous rip currents (no matter the beach on the north side). That being said, we often had the beach to ourselves when we walked to the east. We went to several different beaches and the one right at the condo was our favorite! It was a magical experience and we will be going back! Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home!

This nightmare started with getting notice that I have to park three stories down below grade, and also noting that the elevator didn't work in the garage just a day or so before leaving. Being a busy week, getting ready for my wedding I noticed it and thought (red flag #1) but too late to change. When we got there it was worse than I expected...so we parked on the main where there were hardly any cars, so that my soon to be wife could get to the jeep, as she has a bad back and finds it hard to walk long distances on a slippery, smelly dank incline or decline. In 5 minutes...the obnoxious security guard started harassing us. Called the police, banging on our door, yelling at us. I finally gave in and parked in the nasty parking lot, but it was less than a relaxing walk up and down every time we wanted to leave. We took the top off the Jeep we rented and placed it in a safe place but not where the security wanted, so the next day it came up missing and the windshield of the rented jeep was smashed. The apt/condo itself was Ok at first impression, but after realizing the pictures were not representative of the broken hot tub with wires hanging out of it, the nasty pool, no hand rails and steep inclines, with dirty slippery steps...it felt as if we were trapped and mislead (fraud ) getting to it was hell as well with a dirty elevator that floor numbers don't register. The bonus was; the AC didn't work well either but to the owners benefit they had noisy box fans running to compensate. That just pushed a hell of a couple of days over the top as I tried to get some work done and couldn't think straight from the heat and noisy fans trying to keep cool. Over all Hell... look up Sandy Hills in La Quillo and you will find very similar reviews. End story: The owner said that if we didn't like it, leave, and they will refund, not I am sorry, they did mention having someone look at the AC but who wants maintenance working on your place on top of being in a construction zone from other building repairs being preformed ( all not mentioned ) and besides it was too late. Still no contact or refund for the few days we left early - Still no top to our jeep -

This condo was perfect for my family! There were four of us and plenty of room. The view from the balcony is beyond description. We knew we didn't want to stay in San Juan and that Luquillo would be closer to the activities we wanted to do. We spent a lot of time on the beach - with no one else there! We walked to surf lessons and to dinner. The condo had everything in it that we needed for the stay, including a blender so we could make pina coladas!

We had a great time at this property to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. The condo was clean and accommodating with bedroom AC and extra fans. The view from the balcony was breathtaking! Check in was a little confusing but it was more because it was dark and we were unsure where we were going.
The condo is in a gated community that is nestled in the local community of Luquillo. We walked all around, day and night, and felt completely safe. We actually met some really nice locals on the beach one day that took the time to educate my teens on the local fishing.
The location was great and central to everything on the east coast.
If you are expecting luxury, this is not the area for you. BUT if you want a clean, safe and beautiful condo to stay in while you embrace the local culture, then this is it!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at this property. First, the property manager, Ed, was very welcoming and hilarious. He greeted us, made us comfortable and gave us a list of places to eat and things to do. The views of the ocean were amazing and it was easy to access the beach for walking and swimming. The beds were super comfortable the the AC units worked well. We had no complaints about the property.
