Wir können diese Unterkunft allen empfehlen!

Durch die unmittelbare Strandnähe ist dieses Apartment unschlagbar. Am Morgen kann man von der Terrasse das Meer sehen und anschließend über die kaum befahrene Straße direkt zum Strand laufen. Dieser ist recht steinig, doch es gibt weniger steinige Stellen, wo man ohne Probleme ins Meer steigen kann. Dafür ist das Wasser sehr klar und auch im Herbst noch angenehm warm gewesen. Ungefähr 10 Minuten Fußweg über einen kleinen Hügel entfernt ist eine kleine Strandpromenade mit Restaurants, Bars, Cafés und auch Läden. Hier ist auch ein langer, flacher Sandstrand. Das Apartment war mit den wichtigsten Dingen ausgestattet. Zwar ist es insgesamt nicht riesig, verfügt aber über eine großzügige Terrasse, auf der man sich gerne aufhält.. Der Vermieter war sehr freundlich und ist auf all unsere Nachfragen eingegangen.

Das einzige, was wir bemängeln könnten ist, dass das Bad etwas schöner hätte sein können. Aber das war kein wirkliches Problem für uns. Wanderrouten und Kulturelles gab es nicht viel in der Region, aber die Unterkunft ist perfekt geeignet für einen entspannten und ruhigen Strandurlaub.

Fantastic beach-side apartment in a lovely part of Crete

Our third time at this wonderful apartment. Welcoming and generous host. Very clean and comfortable with a great balcony overlooking the beach. Excellent location for popping in to Makry too for its lovely beach, tavernas and bars.

Location, location, location 11/10

Location, location, location - 5 meters to the quiet beach, separated by a small hill from the more busy Makry Gialos promenade. The owners are super nice, the closest neighbour is super nice. All of them are super helpful. We were staying at the apartament for 4 weeks with the family of 5, the apartment is not really big but it was enough for us, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own food. There were special treats (like sweets, fruits and of course olive oil :) ) prepared by the owner on the day of our arrival which was super nice. All in all, highly recommended!

Superb

We were only here for four days as we used the apartment as a base for travelling around the eastern part of the island. A very helpful host welcomed us at the arranged time and showed us our apartment. He told us to call if we needed anything. The apartment is fully equipped as a full holiday apartment - not even a washing machine is missing. The sea is just a few steps away, the beach is mostly just a few people from the surrounding apartments. However, we didn't use the beach as we just slept in the apartment between our trips.

Best place to stay in Makrygialos

Apartment was absolutely lovely and clean with an amazing large balcony facing the beach. Hosts supplied everything you could possibly need plus they threw in a large basket of fruit, olive oil and local pastries. The apartment is in walking distance to the main restaurants and even has a good taverna within 50meters. We have been traveling around Crete for 3 weeks and this was our nicest stay by far. We loved it!!

Cozy and convenient apartment on the southeast coast of Crete, close to everything you may fancy!

The apartment is very nice, actually the pictures do not do it justice! With two separate bedrooms and a shared living room, it is just perfect for a family. The balcony/terrace is wonderful, big and shady even at midday. After a swim, you can use an outside shower just in front of the apartment. The apartment itself has a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, sun umbrellas... everything. The apartment owner, Ioannis, is extremely thoughtful and helpful, and went an extra mile to help us solve an unexpected problem with the A/C (we were the first guests of the season!). In these situations, you know who really means it with the hospitality! What I would have liked to know before going: The apartment in the house is on the 1st floor and has a separate entrance with own key. The bedrooms are at the rear of the apartment, overlooking a small shared balcony and shaded by the back of the house. The living area is at the front and its doors (and window) lead to the terrace. The rest of the whole house is mostly used by the relatives of the owner – you don't really know they are even there, except for greetings and questions "if everything is OK with your stay" in front of the house. The locals are lovely. There is a nice taverna about 50 meters from the apartment where you can conveniently go for dinner if you don't feel like going anywhere far. The center of Makry Gialos has lots of tavernas, cafés, bars, beaches... Also there is the local port with trips to the Koufonisi island departing every day (CretanDailyCruises). Also, if you stay over Friday, visit the local market and buy fresh produce from local farmers.

Judging the bed comfort is very individual, I personally like a "hard" bed and smaller pillow which wasn't the case here, but if you like soft bed and big pillows you'll love it. Also it would be great to have two keys of the apartment, but this is nitpicking :)

Fabulous - best apartment in Makry!

Superb position right on the beach. Wonderful huge balcony. Lovely friendly and generous welcome. We love it so much this is our second year running! Really clean and modern furnishings. Short stroll over the bluff to the tavernas and supermarkets and the other beautiful beach. We will definitely be back! Efcharisto poly Yiannis.
