The property is located about 6 blocks from State St where most restaurants are located, and is in a nice residential neighborhood that is perfect for strolling around. Great breakfast.

Wonderful welcome from Z to this amazing house. We loved the Renaissance Revival room with its own balcony. The breakfasts were really special with a different cooked dish every morning. Monika and Z made us feel relaxed and at home. The Gifford-Risley is conveniently located within walking distance of the small town of Media which has many shops and restaurants. Trains from the station run into Philadelphia regularly and there are also trolley buses.

Our stay was perfect. Since we came from the West Coast on a red-eye, we were pretty tired. Monika let us check in very early so we could rest a bit. The location was perfect too. My family lives only 10 minutes away. And the building was gorgeous! I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautifully decorated and the owners couldn’t be nicer. The breakfast was delicious and just what I asked for. I didn’t get to try it but everyone raves about their teas.
You have to climb stairs to access the rooms.

My grandparents owned a house like this at 33 Powelton Ave in Philadelphia. I used to love her house when I was little. When I entered into this beautiful bed and breakfast I felt as I was receiving a hug from
my Grandmom with this beautiful house having the same decor she used to have in her home . I felt I traveled back in time and I was Blessed to stay in the B &B .

This is a beautiful historic house with lovely, well appointed rooms. Breakfast was wonderful. The server was fantastic and the owners are friendly and helpful.

I really liked the accommodation, they welcomed me kindly, we "went back in time" a bit, which I really liked! They made sure that we could also eat breakfast in period-correct dining rooms, on period-correct plates. It was a real relaxation for us! thanks for!

Beautiful home, friendly hosts, delicious and generous breakfast, location central to all we did.
We were on the third floor with no elevator. Carrying bags was difficult but the host helped us all the way.

The rooms are all beautiful and unique. The entire house is a Victorian masterpiece, perfectly appointed with a balance of authenticity and comfort. I have stayed in many nice bed and breakfasts in a handful of countries and around America. Rarely do I describe one as perfect. This was. The breakfast, the service, the house, the room. Thank you!!

Comfortable. Cozy. Homey. Charming. Everything you’d expect from a Bread and Breakfast! We loved our stay here. The house and rooms had history and were beautiful. The bed was SO COMFY and clean. The breakfast service feels like you were at home and very, very delicious. The staff were just the sweetest. Would definitely return!

Breakfast was delicious . The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The house was quiet each night and located on a tree lined street in town. Restaurants were within walking distance.

I picked the B&B because I was visiting family and this was the closest facility. The rooms were nicely decorated and clean. Since I did not stay for breakfast I cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast. If I needed to visit that area again I would stay there again.
