About this house rental
Nestled in a pinewood forest of 2.5 acres with direct access to the sea, this villa with five bedrooms and four bathrooms offers all you need for a relaxing holiday. You will immerse yourself in a corner of paradise where you will smell the scents of the Mediterranean and listen to seagulls and cicadas interrupted only by the sound of the waves.
This villa is located in an exclusive and unique estate consisting of several villas and trulli, separated from each other by a pinewood forest. It is known as "La Palombara" and was popular with VIPs in the seventies and eighties. At the end of 2019 we rediscovered this heavenly place and we chose to upgrade and redesign parts of it. It is now available for guests that are looking for a hideaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the photo gallery you will find a map of the entire grounds. A private path that leads directly to the sea starts directly from the property. On your way to the sea, you will pass some picnic areas with breathtaking views. Once on the rocky beach, you will find four access points for swimming, diving, snorkeling or fishing in the crystal clear water of the Lower Adriatic Sea. Dolphins have been spotted from the picnic areas. (Caution: the path and access to the sea is not suitable for small children or people with disabilities).
The villa is on two levels. On the upper floor you’ll find one large double room with en-suite bathroom; one double and one single room sharing a bathroom; one single room with its bathroom; a kitchen and a large living room. On the lower floor there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The interior design is simple but functional; there is no TV nor air conditioning, but the thick walls and pine trees mitigate the heat of the summer sun. On the outside there is a shaded terrace and many spaces to relax, immersed in the vegetation.
A rooftop terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor shower complete the picture.
The well-known fortified village of Castro, with its bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket, can be reached on foot in just ten minutes. The walk is along a charming path under the ancient Messapian walls. For those who prefer sandy beaches to rocks, the enchanting sandy beach of Porto Miggiano is 5 km away; very charming are also the coves of Porto Badisco and the long sandy beaches of Alimini, north of Otranto.
🛏️ Sheets, duvets and towels are not included. If you don't want to bring them with you from home, regardless of the length of your stay, you can rent them for €20 per person. Beach/pool towels are not provided.
🧽 Final cleaning is not included and costs €100, unless you clean yourselves before departure.
🐶 Dogs and pets are allowed (max 2 dogs or pets, surcharge €60 per dog/pet). You will need to inform us in advance.
💰 We will ask you to pay a security deposit of €600 before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded within 7 days after departure, if there is no damage.
⚡ Electricity costs (and thus where applicable AC, hot water, heating etc.) are NOT included in the price and will be charged based on your actual consumption. The price per kW charged to guests was €0,31 on 15/06/2023, when this text was last updated, but as prices are fluctuating a lot and might hopefully decrease, your actual price per kW will be communicated a few days before your arrival based on the current market price.
We decided not to include electricity costs in the rent in order to: a) keep our rental prices stable compared to 2022, which is an ambitious goal given the 10%+ inflation and b) incentivate our guests to use electricity responsibly, helping us to reach our sustainability goals. Fantastico! Tutto curato nei minimi dettagli!
La casa, gli spazi esterni, era tutto rispondente alla descrizione sul sito. Le istruzioni sull'utilizzo della casa e delle dotazioni erano chiarissime. La comunicazione veloce ed efficace in merito ad ogni necessità. In tutto traspare la cura e la passione nella gestione, la volontà di offrire con serietà un servizio eccellente. Accesso al mare e paese a portata di piedi, si può dimenticare la macchina. Quiete e silenzio, organizzazione rispettosa dell'ambiente. Barbecue fantastico. Il luogo ideale per staccare la spina, ma volendo lavorare la connessione ad internet è buona. Bello anche che gli animali domestici siano i benvenuti. Trovare acqua fresca in frigo e una prima dose di detersivi e sapone mani permette di sistemarsi con relax senza dover correre a fare acquisti appena arrivati.
Davvero difficile trovare qualcosa da migliorare!!! Se proprio dobbiamo trovare qualcosa, suggerirei di aggiungere dei coperchi in più alla già ottima dotazione di stoviglie, soprattutto per evitare schizzi che possano sporcare la cucina durante la cottura. Un suggerimento minimo che propongo solo perché ho constatato che wowhomes si impegna davvero per la perfezione.
