Disappointing

There’s a club next door. I was on a higher floor but it was so loud I thought the people in the room next to me were having a drug techno party. After long travel day you could literally hear and feel the walls shaking and ear plugs did not help. I looked out the window and saw a club right next door. With the prices it’s in bad taste to not invest in double paned windows at least. I can only imagine how bad it is on lower levels.

Fantastic stay

We had truly a wonderful time at the Plaza Hotel. Very friendly staff, lovely room with a great view, perfect location. If one doesn't want to use the hotel's parking, there is the Mill Street parking garage just one block from the hotel ($ 15). Breakfast buffet was great, with an extensive selection of food, rather brunch (perhaps because it was in the weekend? At $ 35 per person). We also had cocktails on the roof terrace, the views were fantastic. We did not need to book ahead for the roof terrace

Bad

I've stayed here before, the location and amenities are great. Beds are always comfortable, the bar downstairs is always a good time.

The hotel could not find my reservation and did not help me find a room for the night. I arrived closer to midnight, we were all very tired and they could not answer any questions. Said they could not call any one and I had to find an alternate hotel in the middle of the night alone. No one called the following morning like they said they would.

If in El Paso we would stay here again.

Central location, just 15 minutes walk from Amtrak railway station. 8 minutes walk to free tram for site seeing. Short walk down a shopping street ending at crossing to Mexico.

Bar prices are horribly expensive and do not accept cash.

they charged me $374 for a room that booking. com said was $231 for the night. they should be more up front about actual cost.

Very good

Great location, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean upmarket hotel. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff that went out of their way to be helpful.

Noise from music in local bars kept us awake until nearly 2 a.m. The basic requirement in any hotel is that it facilitates a good night's sleep. The hotel did not meet our expectations in this regard. The Ambar bar/ restaurant was dissappointing. We had breakfast there one morning and were shown straight to the buffet without being told what it cost or without explanation that we could pick a much cheaper option from the a la carte menu. With tip and tax added, we ended up paying over $80 for two mediocre breakfasts. We paid the price for not asking the right questions and left feeling disappointed and unhappy.
