Everything we wanted and needed.

Plenty of space for a family group, clean and comfortable, well furnished. Lots of outdoor activities within a 30-40min drive. Friendly and helpful owners.

The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed to cook our meals and have a comfortable vacation. It’s a quiet retreat and an easy drive to the northwestern entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and comfortable. A good nights sleep is so important on vacation and all the beds were very comfy. We enjoyed a week of quilting, shopping at a great quilt shop in Susanville, visiting breathtaking Mt Lassen Park and Burney Falls. We hope to return next year to explore more of the area.

There was no communication about the checkin procedure and we arrived at the place after the 4pm allowed checkin time. We waited for 30 minutes hoping someone would come by and let us in. The neighbor across the street saw us all there, and to our surprise about 10-15 minutes after seeing us, she came over and said she was the property manager and opened the door to let us in. Not even so much as a "Hi" to greet us. It was very rude and my family was not impressed.
The place was very nice and clean, but the trouble at checkin really made us feel very unwelcome.
I had asked for an early checkin through the VRBO message and did get an email response from a dedicated contact person a few hours later that was a boiler plate email, basically saying no. Again, very unwelcoming.
The house was setup nice and had coffee, and all the supplies you would need. The game closet was also very nice.
My main complaint is the coldness of the host(s). I always like being able to call or talk to someone if there are problems. It would have been much nicer to get an email with the contact (phone number) before checkin, so I could feel we were covered in the case of problems. I felt like leaving after our unwelcome introduction.

We loved it here. Spent most of our time at Lassen NP, but couldn’t have asked for a better place to come back to after exploring all day. Having coffee on sight was the best, we arrived late and were so relieved that we had some for the next morning!!!
We loved it!!

This is a great house and location for exploring Lassen and the surrounding area. When we lost power due to a thunderstorm, the owner proactively reached out to let us know about a battery pack we could use to keep our devices charged. This was very thoughtful.
The house itself was clean and had everything we needed for a pleasant stay.

The property was very clean and easy to find! We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood and the short drive to the northern entrance to Lassen Volcanic NP. The drive to the southwester NP gate was a little over an hour and very scenic. Shingletown is a very small town- we stopped at Anderson on way in to purchase groceries. Due to the rural area, there wasn't cell service at the house, which was okay for us. After leaving, the property manager texted that we had left my husband's glasses by mistake - the manager was great working with us to have the glasses mailed! Would definitely recommend the property!

I would recommend this play to anyone looking for a nice quiet trip in nature. Close enough to town so you can get what you need without having to drive to far. This will be my first choice when look at rental in the area.

We really enjoyed this cabin. At the last minute we had to change our plans because my parents who have a cabin near there came down with covid. We were so lucky to find this cabin available and enjoyed every minute we were there. The cabin is well set up and we had a GREAT time.

This cozy welcoming home offered a warm relaxing place during a cold weekend for family and fiends from ages two to sixty to spend some quality time together. Was lovely and plant to go again!!

We enjoyed staying here. The home is pet friendly. Comfortable beds. Everything we needed.
We went to Lassen volcanic park. Part of of it was closed do to the Dixie fire. We also went to several lakes and reservoirs. We came up for the Golden Palooza . 350 golden retrievers at the convention center in Redding
It's Put on by Norcal golden retriever rescue. It's a once a year Event. We would definitely rent again. 😊👍

It has been a pleasant experience at this property. We were 2 families, and were visiting Lassen Volcanic Park and Burney falls. It is very close to Lassen North gate (about 20-25 min drive), and 1 hr to Burney falls. We found this location ideal for our trip. The property was very clean. The kitchen and bathrooms were well-equipped. The host responds very quickly for any question. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Great location near Lassen Volcanic National Park
Everything was as advertised. The home was very clean and the kitchen included all the basics that you need to prepare meals. We found the beds and pillows comfortable. We especially appreciated the camp chairs that were available for our use. The coffee and tea were a nice bonus.

Super clean and comfortable base for Lassen Volcanic NP
This was one of the cleanest and most comfortable VRBO rentals we have ever stayed at. We stopped at Walmart in Anderson on the way in and cooked all our meals in a well stocked kitchen for 3 days. VERY comfortable beds. Loads of towels. Good wifi in house but warning we had no phone reception in Shingleton all the way to Lassen. I would highly recommend this as an easy base for Lassen Volcanic National Park, which was surprisingly not busy on a weekend in July. My teens were even wanting to stay longer and said they were surprised this park wasn’t busier. Enjoy this hidden gem!

This is a great rental property; it is very well appointed and comfortable, with a nice bed in the Master Bedroom. The house was exceptionally clean and maintained, and is situated close to the entrance to Lassen NP. (Helpful tip, the park and all forest roads are closed in January due to weather conditions. Probably should’ve checked that prior to booking.) My only real “complaint” was the loudness of the heater, which produced a loud knocking every 15 minutes or so. Also, if you’re looking for seclusion, this is not the place for you, as it is tucked into the midst of a neighborhood just off the highway.

We found this great rental when we were looking for a place to stay while we visited Lassen NP this summer. The rental was clean, comfortable and close to the park. We enjoyed the corn hole game for some evening entertainment. The hosts were easy to communicate with.

Fantastic Mountain Getaway
The owner’s attention to detail is second to none. My family lives 3 miles away from the house, so we decided to go this route instead of others. Never have we made a better decision. This house was perfect for my family of six. The thought that went into the extra linens, kitchen utensils, barbecue set up, down to even a flashlight if you need showed care. Would recommend this to anyone going in the area, perfect setup.

This house was perfect for a family of 6. My kids loved the bunk beds! It was wonderful having this place to come back to after a day spent in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Unfortunately, two things started the stay off wrong. 1. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes. So instead of coming in to cook dinner, we had to wash dishes that we didn't use before we could use them. 2. The towels given to us in the bathroom were still wet. Not what you want to deal with after a long drive. After those issues were dealt with, everything was fine. It's not a huge deal, but we also payed for the place to be ready upon our arrival and it was not.The space itself is great, as well as the proximity to the park.

Our family of 4 needed a getaway from city life and didn't feel like camping due to COVID. This home away from home was the perfect base for exploring Lassen Volcanic National Park. It's 10 minutes from the Northwest/Manzanita Lake entrance and was extremely clean (there was even a can of disinfectant and a bottle of hand sanitizer on the bar when we arrived!) The easy access to Lassen made for easy trips to and from (including two late night trips to see the stars and catch the meteor shower from inside the Park!) We've stayed in numerous homes and this was one of the best - knives were sharp, pans did not have all the Teflon scratched up, fridge was clean, water was HOT, beds were comfy, and there were LOTS of great utensils + herbs/spices available, and even a handy washer/dryer to clean off the trail dirt. The ceiling fans in the dining and living areas + awesome swamp cooler helped during the hotter days of our stay. Kelly was super responsive and we so appreciated her lovely home and hospitality! I was a bit hesitant to book at first since there was only one other review, but we were so glad we did - book it! You won't regret it!

Great house, close to base of Lassen!
We had a wonderful stay and it was a perfect location for our trip to Lassen. As a family with 3 young children, we weren't quite ready to camp and it was so nice to return home to this comfy house after a long day of hiking and exploring Lassen Nat'l Park. It is a 20 min drive from the northwest entrance and closest to Manzanita Lake. The house itself was very updated, clean, and comfortable. It had the most comfy rocking chair in the living room! Our kids loved the bunk beds. It also had a great backyard area to explore and a fire pit for s'mores. It also had a great laundry room with extra space to store our bikes which was super helpful. Kelly was a great host and very easy to communicate through text during the check-in process.

Wonderful Location and Home
My son and I went on a road trip to Lassen and found ourselves in the middle of a snow storm that we did not expect. Adam let us know ahead of time and we shifted gears and got ourselves as ready as we could. They house had everything that we needed as well as some great extras that we didn’t even think about. We cooked all of our meals and had everything that we needed. The only item we would have liked to see would have been enough wood to get ya through the first night as the house was bone chilling cold upon arrival and it took some doing to get it heated up the first time. After that the wall heater and a small fire did the trick for the rest of our trip. Overall great experience and I would rent this home again.
PS - the front yard was epic in the snow and my son and I played for hours without being bored.
