About this cottage rental
The Old Mill Cottage is a converted corn mill finished to a high standard on our working farm. Sitting approx 1.2miles along a farm track this cottage really is in the middle of the countryside. The only engine your likely to here is the farmers tractor, all other noise belongs to birds singing or farm animals calling. The farm has cattle, sheep, ducks and chickens and lots of Honeybees so plenty to see. The Old Mill has two gardens one of which is enclosed with dining area at the rear of the property, the other to the side of the cottage has a summerhouse with BBQ area for our guests to enjoy.
Little Walterstone farm sits in the middle of Cefn Bryn (common land) so is perfect for those who enjoy walking, mounting biking, bird watching, or just exploring the beauty of the Gower Peninsula, the 1st area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the UK.
Little Walterstone Farm is approximately 1.5miles from the nearest beach, 2miles for a choice of two local pubs and 2 miles from the local grocery shop.
The Old Mill cottage had two double bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining space, We can provide a single fold out bed if required for an extra family member. Please message us before booking to see if we can accommodate.
WE NO LONGER ACCEPT DOGS SORRY.

Warm and welcoming hosts, comfortable cottages, beautiful farm setting with fresh produce provided. Ideal location for exploring the countryside and beaches.

Lovely peaceful place well off the beaten track. Excellent walking from the door especially the ridge walk to Arthur's Stone with wonderful views inland and out to sea. Within a short drive of everywhere on the Gower. We especially enjoyed walking on Pobbles and Three Cliffs beaches. The cottage is very comfortable and the owners were lovely. We are still enjoying the vegetables and honey at home and the eggs were large and tasty. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Myself, partner and 3 children (10, 12, and 14) all had a wonderful time here.
The cottage was just right.
Being on a farm added to the experience, as did Jade and James who were so welcoming.
Over breakfast we watched the chickens roam about and we passed horses, and sheep on the track every day as we headed to the beach.
Three Cliffs Bay is a gorgeous quiet sandy beach, walking distance if you're feeling energetic.
But if not there is free parking at the end of the track which is about halfway.
We drove part way as had a picnics, wet suits, beach tent, body boards etc and it worked well.
I would also recommend Rhossili and Llangennith beaches, both just a short drive away.
Wonderful holiday. Hope to come back again soon!

We had a wonderful stay and Jade and James were perfect hosts, a lovely greeting and a fond farewell.
The house is on a working farm so lots of baa ing and cock-a-doddle dos, which is great. We did lots of walking so the location was fantastic, no need to drive to get to a location, you walk straight from the house. Great walks, great coats and beaches. Would defiantly go again.

Superbly situated accommodation for exploring the Gower, walking, cycling or driving, although accessed by an unmade road our normal saloon traversed it without issue, great to be on a working farm, sheep shearing was fascinating, even the Cockerell was considerate with his timing, lovely hosts, top tasting honey and lamb to be purchased, very well recommended, gives you the feeling of being remote without being so, very close to all the best beaches and amenities.

James and Jade gave us a very warm welcome on arrival to their very lovely, clean and cosy, farm cottage. Fully immersed in farm life, beautiful countryside, walks and fabulous views and yet only a short drive to many other places of interest. A great place to stay on the Gower.

Idyllic Getaway
For us, this was the perfect cottage; on a working farm; right on the Gower Coastal Path, so many beaches to walk too; beautiful peaceful countryside; clean property with everything you need and lovely hosts. We will be back that’s for sure :)

Away from it all in the centre of the Gower
We have given it five stars but we liked the remote position, the farm life etc. It wouldn’t suit everyone. We didn’t try the pubs etc as tended to stay in once back for the evening. The Gower is very accessible and a good, well stocked shop/cafe.

Just what we needed!
James and Jade couldn’t have been more pleasant. They have a lovely cottage on a beautiful working farm in an amazing area. This is just 50% of it. They make the other 50% by being so welcoming and kind. We loved the animals (Sophie especially liked the chickens!) and seeing the new lambs was a real treat. The eggs were tasty and honey sweet :) It’s a great place to relax and get some perspective on life. Thank you for having us and see you next time! Richard and Sophie x

Perfect location for a
The converted barn couldn't have been in a more beautiful and remote location. We were greeted on arrival by James and Jade on arrival with a basket of fresh eggs from their own chickens which were roaming around the farm yard and a basket of fresh home grown vegetables and honey from their own bees. There was a great pub about 30 minutes walk across the hills which afforded us fantastic views across the stunning beaches which were also a short walk away. The cottage was comfortable and. As a working farm, the farm aanimals wandering about were an added bonus. We had a wonderful week there and it was ideal for walking and chilling out

Very cosy and comfortable cottage on working farm
Very cosy and comfortable cottage on a working farm. Lovely views within a very short walk from the cottage and an excellent base for exploring The Gower. Host James and family very approachable and friendly. Contents of vegetable basket provided were plentiful, varied and gratefully received. We hope to make a return visit in the future. Very best wishes to the hosts.

Trip back home
James and his family welcomed us into his home with open arms, very welcoming and our kids loved playing with his on the farm!
Great local walks and 10 min drive to Oxwich bay, ignore the long road to the farm as you get used to it!
Cosy cottage and great location!

Rural Gower
We found the rental process fine, although VRBO did not inform owners of our dog, so we had to pay on arrival, despite the initial booking including our pet. This was a VRBO mistake, absolutely not the owners. Apart from that we had a great time & the hosts were beyond amazing & accommodating.

Absolutely fantastic
This is the most exceptional farm cottage set in the most beautiful countryside with the most incredible hosts living in the farm house just opposite. There is so much to see and do, the walks and the cycle routes are just fabulous and the farm is such a great place both for the children and adults to enjoy. A very special place and so pleased we found this gem! Thanks so much to James, Jade and the kiddies for making us feel so welcome and for the delicious farm produce! We really admire your hard work, passion and professionalism, you have struck a great balance and the farm is lucky to have you, we can see how much you love it and it shows! We definitely hope to be back next year! Keep doing what you are doing! You are an amazing family, you are thriving and you deserve every success!! With love, the Williams gang.

We are a family of 4, 2 young children. This was an ideal location. The excitement of the farm, seeing a tractor, fresh eggs, chickens, sheep - great! What’s more only a stone’s throw from the beach.
