Would have been nice to know about the community well.
Had no water pressure when trying to get ready for a wedding. The person messaged me and said we would have water in 30 minutes and we did. But had us very nervous when we had many people who had to take showers yet for the wedding.

Our group of 7 friends stayed in this amazing home to celebrate our 50th birthdays. It was the PERFECT location and home for a celebratory girl's weekend. The view from the wrap around porch is spectacular and is where we spent the majority of the weekend. We loved the outdoor fireplace on the deck and the hot tub. The home is large and has plenty of space and rooms so that everyone could get comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and we ate all but one meal there. The house has an awesome game room and we want to go back to use it. I highly recommend this home. It was clean and check-in was simple.

We had a great time with our family while visiting your property.! From ages 3-73, it was a perfect fit for us! Enough room to spread out or all hang in the kitchen/living area.Thank you and hope to visit again!

We had a great time at this beautiful cabin! Only issue was that they listing says it sleeps 14 and it only sleeps 12….. just a heads up!

Nothing was said about the refrigerator not working and we arrived with groceries for 9 people and several days worh. The small replacement wasn't even close to being sufficient. As much as we loved the place this was very disappointing and inconvenient. Something should have been done in advance of our stay.

Trash was never picked from not sure how many previous guests called about it 3 times and never picked up all outside cans full and trash outside beside cans.

The view from the cabin was amazing. The road leading up to the house was a little daunting but once you make it to the cabin, the view was well worth it. The cabin while it looked great had several issues. The bunk bed was far too loose for any of the kids, even our five year old to sleep in it safely. When she climbed on the top bunk the whole bed swayed. The hot tub didn’t even get that hot. When you walk into the home it looks great, it’s just when you take a closer look that you see all the issues with it such as ceiling fans not working, holes in the sofa, panels coming off the kitchen island, and spider webs all over the place. We are in a cabin up in the mountains so the spider webs were a little understand but some looked like they were dusted in a very long time. Overall, the kids enjoyed the trip but one of the reason we got this particular cabin was for the bunk bed for two of our girls and it wasn’t usable for one day and by the time it got fixed the kids were weary of it.

It was nice and spacious and cozy at the same time. The view is amazing. There was a power outage for a few hours in the area on our first day but luckily we had kept the cabin warm during that time. Other than that no complaints. I loved the holiday decorations it really tone for Christmas. I would definitely book this cabin again.

Excellent!
What a great property. The roads are a bit steep to get to it so we were glad the snow stopped before our arrival. Wish we had more than a 2 night stay to enjoy the amenities more (we didn’t have time for hot tub, movies, games, horseshoes). Everything was really clean except the living room carpet didn’t look vacuumed. I am a shower snob and the water pressure was a bit wimpy for me. Beds were great.

Fireplace problems with imminent storm approching
My family has stayed at this house several times and we always enjoy our stay. We enjoyed our stay this particular time but our fireplace in the upstairs area would not work. So I called the number left for us to report a problem. I also need to tell you that there a winter storm warning that was predicted. There would be 40-50 miles per hour winds possible and power outages were likely possible. When I called, a very helpful lady told us to try to use the information book there and try to light the pilot light, which my husband and grown sons had already tried, but with no luck. We were worried that the fireplace might be the only warmth we would have if the predicted storm actually arrived. The last time I talked to the lady there was a workman there who was going to help us but he never came. Fortunately the storm never caused a problem with the power and we were fine without a fireplace. But it would have been the best thing to do to have a service person come look at the fireplace. I expected better service for the prices we paid. And especially with a winter storm warning.

Lovely location
The house was very nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay, until the storm came through on our last day and knocked power out from down tree. The reps were very responsive and reimbursement for the night provided. We left before the cold set in. We will use them again for sure.

Family thanksgiving
Gorgeous home and views! Very clean and homey feeling! Negatives: no cable on TV’s. We enjoy football on Thanksgiving day and we’re blocked from viewing. Also for as expensive as this home is there are no “extras.” Underwhelming pots, pans and kitchen utensils. Very minimal dish soap etc.

Awesome views
Beautiful views, fireplaces and wrap a round deck, but poor quality of linens, and the size of master bed and bath were small. Expected more luxury for the price.

Great views with some clear flaws
Just finished a long weekend at Lights Mountain Lake Overlook, and overall it was a great cabin. The views were as gorgeous as pictured, the wrap around deck was awesome, and the place was very clean. However, there were some clear drawbacks as well.
1) This place is just not at all well stocked. You can’t rely on cabin rentals to have everything that even say an Airbnb would have in terms of toiletries, kitchen items and so forth, but this was pretty poor. There wasn’t a single backup roll of toilet paper in any bathroom, the coffee maker didn’t have an accompany coffee grinder or any filters (comon they’re like $2 for a ton of them), and we had to purchase extra garbage bags since only about 4 were in there for a 10 person trip.
2) I’ve never been to a cabin that didn’t supply firewood. It was really annoying to have to go back down the mountain for firewood after a 10 hour drive to a mountain cabin with 3 fireplaces. Also, the ones indoor are inexplicably not available in the summer. Why the hell not lol? They’re gas powered, and you left a hot tub in working condition. Certainly hot tubs are more cold weather amenities than a fire place lol.
3) There is a ton of proximity to other cabins that didn’t really seem like it was super clearly explained. The neighbors had a bunch of kids running around screaming at all hours of the day and it was very noisy.
Either way, it’s a solid cabin, but be prepared to bring way more supplies and so forth than you’re expecting.

Grad Retreat
Well stocked kitchen. Lots of room for 6 moms and 6 girls. Game room with deck on same level as bunk room/large bathroom so kids had their own space - moms had the upper levels. Very clean and well kept. 1/2 bath on main floor was great. Easy parking for mountains. Cannot think of any negatives - would def recommend and stay again.

Birthday Weekend
Overall, we had a fantastic time making memories at the cabin. The hot tub was great, plenty of space, the pool table was fun, and we especially enjoyed the spectacular view. I rated cleanliness a 4/5 due to spider webs/dust, but the space didn't feel dirty. Property manager email response is delayed. The neighborhood is great minus the extremely narrow and winding road to get to the cabin, but definitely worth the drive! I'd highly recommend this cabin!

The cabin is a great property, even with heavy fog obscuring our views of the lake, we still had a good time and made fun memories.

Wonderful
Everything was terrific. While all the needed instructions were well laid out in the check in and check out documents, the one question I did send to the property manager was never answered. The house is lovely, well furnished and the beds are comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.

This house was beautiful and the view is great. The communication with the management wasn’t good, they never responded to my messages or emails and bad customer service on the phone.

Beautiful Surprise!
We picked this house because we were trying to choose somewhere that wouldn't have a high percentage of being canceled due to Covid. Wow! We were so fortunate. This was an amazing house and exceeded the expectations for our group of 11.
Best: The multiple decks, rocking chairs, outdoor lounge chairs, and outdoor fireplaces were great. Most of the time we were at the house we were hanging out outside. The view was way better than the pictures showed, especially at Sunset and at night (we had a full moon).
Worth mentioning:
- Drive: It does take a decent drive up the mountain as the house is near the top of the mountain. 15 minutes from the Food Lion in Blue Ridge.
- National Park: If you hike up the hill (somewhat steep), there is a trail heading back into a national park. We wish we had seen this earlier and had been able to venture back into.
- Lake Blue Ridge: If hopping on the lake, you have to drive all the way around to the Marina (20 mins). All of the docks down the hill are on private property. There is no place to pick up or drop off any of your crew.
Areas for improvement: We all agreed that the area with rocks and horseshoe pit could be better utilized. One cool idea we had was to put in a miniature golf course with a few holes and fake grass. Not sure how feasible that is but we'd suggest something that would be more inviting for our group.
Overall: We feel so blessed and fortunate to have chosen this place. For our group of 11 to all feel the same way, to love the views, outside porch vibe, and have enough room for all of us to adventure around the property was just so great.
Thanks! Chris

The bathroom on the main floor leaks to the basement bedroom. Please fix this as soon as possible. Everything else is great.

Great Covidcation
It was a great long weekend getaway. Wished we stayed longer. Houses around but still private. Windy drive as described. Arrived at night due to work schedule, but would recommend getting there during the day. Hot tub never heated up. Would definitely stay again

Wonderful Blue Ridge Cabin
We stayed for a week in late July 2020. Location is fantastic. Great for hiking or biking right out of the front door. It doesn’t get any better than this location. Close enough to downtown, but enough into the woods to feel away from it all. Highly recommend this place.

Anniversary get away
All in all. It was a great experience and wonderful to get away from the crazy world of the city. Sadly the hot tub was down. But the view out back and the outdoor fireplace was incredible. I am sure that we will be able to make it back for a round two ✌️. Thanks for having us. Plenty of room. Great atmosphere and spacious inside

Very Nice Cabin
We had a nice stay on short lead time. The cabin is not secluded, but it feels private. Definitely hope for good neighbors. The view is different with the lake, which I liked.
The location is ideal to activities, restaurants and sights. It is not a luxurious cabin, but it is very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Light’s a mountain lake Overlook
Our experience was very disappointing because the cabin was very dirty. It was full of dust and spider webs everywhere. The sheets had so much dust and under the bed was very dirty. The floors where very dirty and sticky. The restrooms looked dirty as well. Also the fence was not safe for the kids. We all had fun and had a very nice view it’s a very nice cabin with a spectacular view just the cleaning part was very disappointing.

We rented 3 cabins close together and everything exceeded our expectations. I've sworn never to rent through VRBO again after finding out, among other things, they don't do criminal background checks on owners...long story. With Mountain Laurel, you get personalized service. They helped me find the perfect cabins and anything we needed fixed or supplied was taken care of immediately.

We have been going to the Boone NC area every year but now that we live in Atlanta thought we 'd try the GA mtns. Dealing with the rental service was pretty standard. Liked that they offered the possibility of early check in which we we were able to take advantage of. Cabin was in good shape. Could have used a better sweep in a few areas of the home but nothing serious. The cabin was well stocked and set up nicely. View was great. We enjoyed the fire pit for s'mores. Every night all 8 of us watched a classic movie in the main living room. It was a little tight but we all squeezed in. Wish the tv was a tad bigger too but not a big deal. On check out we noticed that trash area had not been emptied before our arrival so we decided to take the trash with us as we were hustling to check out. We really liked the ample parking as well since we came with a couple cars. The road is paved all the way to home. You are traveling up a mountain so you do have to go slow and watch for other cars but all
manageable. There are many homes in the area coming up the mtn to the house so you are not secluded. That is something we prefer but if you want seclusion this may not be the right place for you. That said it wasn't noisy and didn't experience bad neighbors. The house was close to a restaurant that we really enjoyed. Toccoa Riverside Restaurant. Also took the kids to The Lily Pad for some Gem Mining and mini golf. Good experience there. We rode the train in Blue Ridge (so so). Did Blue Ridge Adventures Rope Course which was great. Did the Escape Room. Loved Blue Jeans Pizza in town. Service at Harvest on Main was not great but food was good. Overall a good experience in Blue Ridge and I would recommend this rental home.
