The owner Don hooked us up with an excellent Fishing charter and had a blast catching keeper yellow tail snapper.

We had so much fun here! Definitely want to stay longer. If you appreciate marina life⚓️you'll be right at home. Thanks Don!

Had a great time. The boat is dated. Don made a repair of the water system in a very timely manner.

What a great houseboat! Nice little place across the way to get a bite to eat. And the view from the top deck priceless!

Don is a very nice host. The boat was what I expected. Unfortunately, we had to leave a day early due to an odor. Don worked things out with us and was very helpful.

Our stay was great! This is an antique boat so do not expect a 5 star resort or anything. We met up with Don so he could show us around and give us the keys and after that, we watched football in the dining area and also really enjoyed having some drinks on the top deck. Really cool place!

Someone form VRBO really needs to go see this boat. As a boat owner myself I understand there is a lot of maintenance but this place is disgusting! I have photos I am happy to share if you let me know where to send them. The owner was very nice but that is the only positive comment I have

It was not the typical rental. It was “fun” but loud the first night because of a party.

Don is a fantastic host. The boat is a perfect base for fishing either ocean or bay side being right on Tavernier Creek. No issues with boat (AC, plumbing, kitchen bbq, etc) Everything needed was in easy walking distance around the Marina. I'll be back!

Hello readers this will be one of your most honest reviews for this boat/property rental you might be interested in so I will get right to the point. If you and your guests are really and truely the boater types and can appreciate what a fine vessel like this one is that was fully equipped with everything you could possibly want or neeed including ice cold ac and cable tv. Whether you are going out to sea or just staying in dockside at the marina it's a race ready to go good time. Now to make it an even better stay it's a vessel that has been usesd and lived on for some years now so it bares a certain character trait that money just can't buy or create when it's all shiney and new. It presents the possibly that it could be yours now or one day if that is your dream this was the part we really LOVED! In my opinion that alone makes your stay feel as real as it can get and put the icing on the cake for us! It's also strategicly docked next to all the ammenities you will ever need dockside at the Marina great food and restaurants there live bands and gift shop as well. Don is an exceptional host who was very accommodating and always available. 5 Stars 5 Diamond guys you won't be disappointed. Thanks Don see you again soon.

This is an authentic stay for the adventurous. I don't see this fitting families well if the children are under 12ish, and not more than 2. Best for families familiar with boats or RV's.
Pros: Clean and comfortable bedding, towels, shower, and several GREAT spaces to sit and relax, with a beautiful marina feel. Modern TV, and usable kitchen. Very accommodating host.
Things to be aware of/check: Is there AC/do you need it? The berths can get hot at night. Is there a kitty/do you have allergies to a kitty. Stairs - narrow and winding (we kept our suitcases upstairs).
Location is good, parking was very easy, band stopped at about 9:30 (St. Patrick's Day) and it was very nice to listen from the upper deck. Foot traffic was otherwise very minimal, and it was generally very quiet, although not private. Convenient to a LOT of things.
It was a very fun and great rental, but only if the expectations fit.

Vintage VRBOat!
My 18 year old daughter and I really enjoyed our stay on Don’s boat. It’s not a new rig and has its quirks but has good a/c, adequate Wi-Fi, nice smart tvs and a stocked kitchen. Don is a kind and gracious host. Conveniently located right next to 3 restaurants.

Location, Location, Location
Three old (ages 69, 74 and 79) fishing and hunting buddies rented this old girl for 6 nights in March 2022. We had a GREAT time ! Don, owner and host, greeted us upon arrival, helped with our gear, and explained all the boat's systems to us. All systems with the exception of one marine head, worked as advertised--most important being 1) AC, 2) Ice maker, and 3) Coffee maker. The big screen TV had a great picture and worked perfectly although we seldom utilized it.
It was a grand adventure for 3 salty old sportsmen. That being said we all agreed our wives would not have felt as "at home" as we did.
In her day she was a grand old lady. Today, however, she's showing her age and could use quite a bit of TLC. The soles (flooring) were in the process of being repaired in several places and most of the woodwork could use refinishing. These items were small inconveniencies to us but would not have been warmly received by our spouses. Also, I suggest you ask Don about the idiosyncrasies regarding the toilets before booking.
All that being said, one could not ask for a better location. She lies (albeit with a noticeable list to port) in a beautiful marina that offers adequate parking, access to kayaks, an excursion boat, and offshore fishing charters.
But by far the best part of the marina is the access to three really, really good restaurants.
Maria's Cuban Coffee shop has delicious coffees, smoothies, sandwiches and deserts.
The Raw Bar sits on the marina offers great oysters, stone crab, and lobster as well as burgers, fresh fish and much more all at a great value.
Upstairs in the same building is a lively bar and upscale, fine dining restaurant. All three are only steps from the boat.
Don is a wonderful host and will do his best to accommodate his guests. Don't hesitate to speak with him prior to your visit. He'll be happy to hear from you.

Staying on the water for fishing trip
The host, Don, was a wonderful host. Friendly and greeted us at the boat when we pulled in late evening. The boat is old and tired. Only one head worked and no on board shower. While the marina facilities were only steps away..the bathrooms and showers were not well maintained. Don is trying to upgrade /renovate sections of the oat including the heads..but it is an old boat. Too tired to be in VRBO. We live on the Chesapeake Bay and are around a lot of boats. Our expectations were realistic unfortunately they were not met. The dock has a great restaurant and a supe new Cuban coffee cafe. Is close to everything we needed.
