We like the views from eating on roof terrace

The property is not as represented on VRBO and communicating with the owner and housekeeper is less than responsive. The living conditions are very poor. There is a significant odor of mold and sewer smell that permeates the entire flat. The bathrooms are not clean and have mold and mildew, broken tiles. The kitchen is very small and not more than one person can be in at a time. There is no large dining table as depicted on VRBO and the day bed that they claim is a double bed is not feasible for sleeping. There are steep stairs throughout the property some without railings. The linens and towels are thin, old and ragged. The only area a few people group can gather is the top level where there are very small chairs and uncomfortable benches, adjacent to this 'sitting' area there is a deck with a view the only nice feature of the property. There were ants and bugs inside this room the kitchen and bedrooms. The upstairs sliding door to the deck cannot be closed properly. we were advised to spray for bugs and keep windows open for the odors, even with these the smells did not improve. Due to the odors we had become physically ill and had no choice but to to leave the property 5 days early due to these unlivable conditions. When we advised the owner, we were told there were no problems and no refunds. I would NOT recommend this property nor the unpleasant demeanor of the owner and unresponsive housekeeper. The location and view are the only attractions. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!

We loved our stay at Amelie and Bernard’s house. Hosts were very responsive and looked after us well. We had this beautiful house to ourselves. The rooms have big windows, are light and airy. Some of the rooms have a stunning view of the sea. The kitchen is well equipped, Wi-Fi was great but the real specialness of this place lies in its roof Terrace and top floor. We had the best family mornings and evenings there. The perfect space for breakfasts, board games and evening meals/drinks. We had a wonderful time!

Lots of steps in the property so not suitable for some. In the heart of old Antibes with a superb view of the harbour from the terrace.

Beautiful townhouse facing the Mediterranean.
A lot of “Southern France” flair.
Really a gem.

Heaven!
Beautiful property excellent location, amazing sea views! The fisherman home was spacious enough for our whole family. It was easy to walk out and explore the highlights of the area. Be prepared for multiple levels, but we enjoyed it. The rooftop was the best as the views were spectacular.

Incredible spot
Prime location! It's overlooking the bay, near beaches and it's in the best part of old town near the market. The views are magical and it's well-equipped for anything you need (the AC was great on really hot days).
We didn't mind the many stairs (it's a skinny house across five levels). The only thing that bothered us was the neighbors occasionally talking right outside until late into the night.
But all in all a truly incredible stay. We would highly recommend!

Wonderful location; Delightful trip!
The charming seaside villa was perfect for our visit to Antibes. Upon arrival we were greeted graciously by Bernard and his lovely wife Irene and their very helpful housekeeper Amelle who made sure we had everything we needed. The house had many bedrooms although we only used two for our small group, one overlooking the sea and the other overlooking a quiet rue pieton with lovely gardens. The interior stairs were no problem for us as we love to hike. While we ate nearly all of our meals outside, the kitchen was very well equipped with clean dishes, plates, glasses, serving ware, utensils and a dishwasher. We also enjoyed the bottle of rose Bernard left for us! The piece de resistance of course was the rooftop terrace with an amazing view of the sea. In the morning over croissants and berries from the marche we watched the sailing school parade out to sea and at night over wine and cheese the shimmering lights of the coast. The villa is located in an ideal spot right near the sea and the marche so walking everywhere could not have been easier. We look forward to returning next summer!

Belle maison de pecheur dans le vieux quartier d antibes
Belle maison de pécheur, assez verticale et spacieuse, se finissant au dernier étage par une terrasse très agréable le soir, malgré la canicule ambiante.

Antibes
On behalf of every one of us (9 ladies) staying in your apartment in September, I would once again say that it was a magnificent week we had. The view from the terrace and the close distance to town and beaches was perfect for us
Can definitely recommend this appartment.

So much more than a room with a view!
First off, everyone in our family was so taken with this home and had such an entertaining, restful stay that we are already talking about a return. The location of this authentic old French home is superb for a true Mediterranean village experience. As other reviewers have stated, the home is situated centrally in "Vieil Antibes" close to all necessities, beaches, train, bus, etc. so I will focus my review on things that have not been mentioned.
We were a group of 7 adults ranging in age from 24 to 59. There was plenty of room for all and we did not feel crowded. The owners have provided all necessary amenities. The beds/bedding are comfortable – the usual European arrangement of twin beds that can be converted to a large double bed in each room (one room with bunk beds), plenty of space for everyone to have privacy. Although the house is narrow the ceilings are quite high and the rooms feel spacious. Thick, newer windows kept the house quiet for sleeping and the central AC worked very well. We stayed in August and AC was needed. The nicely equipped kitchen has 2 refrigerators, a cook top, dishwasher and a microwave/convection type oven. The 3 bathrooms are adequate and updated relative to the age of the house. Other pluses: wifi, mp3 docking stereo, flat screen TV, a combo washer/drier that works well for small loads of laundry.
Best of all, we spent many happy hours on the high open patio feasting on food and wine purchased on our morning visits to the provincial market that is only a few steps from the front door. Gazing at that incredible view, telling tales and philosophizing until the wee hours - what better way could exist to spend a holiday. We highly recommend this home if you have always dreamt of staying in such a comfortable, simple, romantic place with its winding, 5 story staircase, terracotta tiled floors, shuttered windows overlooking the cobblestone passages and azure sea.
I would only hesitate to recommend this home to those who could not manage climbing the stairs or to families with very young children that might fall on them.
Regarding Antibes: yes, it is a bit filled with tourists at high season, but you can find great restaurants and shops off the beaten path. Not to be missed: Picasso museum, beaches, coffee (espresso, cafe au lait, etc.) and croissants at one of the many cafes in town, local wine and foie gras. Also, bring good shoes for walking because the cobblestone streets can be pretty tough on the feet.

I Often Think of This House.
I came to stay here in November 2009 and am writing this a year later.
I often think of this house. In the top floor room you can see the
sea from three different sides of the house without being overlooked.
This room is flooded with light, and opens on to a terrace from which
you can watch and listen to the sea almost directly beneath you just
across the narrow street. Even after the sun had gone down in
November we stayed on the terrace just to gaze at the sea and talk.
The way the house has been renovated means that despite its very
narrow width the spaces are open and uncluttered. Though there are a
few collected ornaments and interesting pieces of furniture the place
has a calm feel to it, it is a very dignified house.
The large daily food market is a stone’s throw away, here you are
right in the old part of Antibes near the Picasso Museum, everything
is within reach on foot - a matter of a few of minutes. Bear in mind
that within the house you have to be good at stairs, they are steep
and numerous.
I’d love to revisit.

A wonderful house in a wonderful city
We stayed eight persons one week in October. A great stay in a perfect house at the sea with stunning views. The house has room enough for everybody. Perhaps the kitchen is better for a smaller company. A favourite was the breakfast on the roof terrace just above the sea.

Offseason dream
I travel a lot renting houses for my family and again I have found a place we could return. Antibes it self is very charming town. (we were there at Feb, so it was no tourists so much). Many good restaurants nearby flat, beach and playgrounds for children. etc. The apartement was nicely renovated (sophisticated, cultivated and reasonable). Seafront location in heart of old town at quiet street was perfect for us.
Rooms are in five levels, so make sure you don't forget something in wrong floor...or with wild baby at age 8 months-3 years i do not recommend. There is road between house as see, but It didn't disturb, it was still quiet. And at last.. the top floor!! Tiny but beautifull... you can see in three directions and enjoy the see.... I highely recommend for everybody. Tanja and family, Finland

Amazing location/ beautiful house
My family had the most amazing holiday at this property. The location is central to shops, markets & beaches. Trainstation is in walking distant.
The house is beautiful! Very clean and every bedroom has a view. Lots of stairs in the house. Terrace balcony has the best view. We had breakfast, lunch & dinner on balcony. We highly recommend this place.

Wonderful house in a beautiful setting
We stayed 8 friends in this beautyful town-house and are extremely happy with our choice of vacation accomodation! The house is in perfect condition and equipped with everything you need and want. The terrace is just marvelous with stunning views over the Antibes bay. You just never want to leave it! Also the location is fantastic, in the beautiful old town of Antibes, with walking distance to beaches, restaurants, shops, bus and train station. We've already recommended it to friends and family and would very much encourage everyone to enjoy a loveley vacation in this wonderful house!

My family and I (three college kids) found this fantastic home perfect for our stay and needs. The setting in the old town is just beautiful and within walking distance (just a minute or two) from restaurants, shopping, and the harbour; the train station is only a few more minutes walk. Everything was provided for so that if we chose we could visit the local merchants, buy, store, and prepare for our meals as well as enjoy the local establishments. There is nothing missing in the property when looking for entertainment and convenience: Internet, TV, air-conditioning, clothes-washer, etc. (the propertly as advertised is 100% as described and better). The view at night from the top-floor terrace was just stunning. Our stay was a wonderful one. We would certainly return to this same property if in the area again. We will be recommending it to and any friends or business associates who might be travelling in the area. The owner and the greeter were very warm and responsive in all email, phone, and personal contacts.
