About this house rental
Welcome to our vacation home! Newly built in December 2019, Riverview Cottage is located in the heart of downtown New Buffalo in a quiet and quaint neighborhood. Our house is on a deadend street overlooking the Galien River marsh with great sunset views. You can walk to everything - just a few blocks from restaurants (Stray Dog, Redamaks, etc), the local grocery store, shops, and public beach. Close to the casino, wineries, and breweries of Harbor Country. Spend the day at the beach or hang out at our private heated association pool just steps from the house. This house is beautifully decorated and designed for large group vacations. Our house has a fully stocked gourmet kitchen with a dining table that seats 12 comfortably, a living room with large TV and gas fireplace, a fun and relaxing basement which includes a large TV, card table, and gorgeous custom wet bar. Relax with a cocktail on the covered front porch or chill out with a book on the enclosed back patio. Our backyard includes an outdoor dining table, a gas grill, a fire pit, and an outdoor shower. Everything you would need to build wonderful memories with friends and family!

We loved this house! Not only is the style of the house impeccable and adorable, but it was also nicely equipped from dishes to linens to shampoo and conditioner. The location cannot be beat! We love walking to the beach, downtown and pool. The street is quiet and safe (you don’t really notice the trains coming through and when you do, they are gone so quickly. The owner is super responsive and kind. The community pool could use some cleaning and a few updated chairs but this house is perfect and we had the best time!

We had a wonderful family vacation. This home was beautiful and they thought of all details to make it a wonderful stay. There were so many additional items we weren’t expecting such as the bathrooms being stocked with some toiletries and each shower even had hair products and body wash. I would suggestion you mention items you have available to take to the beach such as wagons and chairs so that people don’t have to try to fit those items in their cars to travel. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the accessibility of pool. The listing implied a“private” pool for a small neighborhood of homes but we found the pool was always full with large families and tons of kids. There weren’t any chairs even available to use and we really could only use it late around 9pm until closing when those families were doing bedtime.

This was our third time to New Buffalo and first time in this house. Dan and Jewel were excellent hosts - friendly, quick to reply, and provided everything we needed for our stay. The house is wonderfully decorated, has quality fixtures, kitchen supplies, and thoughtful details. The walkability is unbeatable. I couldn't recommend this home and neighborhood more. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was completely clean when we arrived. It's decorated really nicely and all of the rooms were very comfortable and modern. We highly recommend this house!

You really need to replace the rug off the kitchen. Several people kept tripping over it.

We had a group of 11 adults traveling to New Buffalo for a weekend without the kids. This house was perfect! It had plenty of space and was exceptionally clean. We really loved that we could walk everywhere we wanted to go! We didn’t have any issues at all, and would love to stay again. Highly recommend!

The kids loved the pool and the easy scooter ride to the beach. Parents were able to enjoy time walking thru the little town, eating and drinking at local spots and it was so easy to spend hours at the beach with the whole crew.

We loved the house. Beautiful decor. Nice beds. Wonderful kitchen to cook in. Loved the porches basement and the pool was fantastic. House had everything you could ever dream of needing. Very well done!

The house comfortably fit our mulitple family vacation. Kitchen was perfect with everything we needed. Bathrooms were luxurious. Beds comfortable and location was perfect. Owners were super responsive.

We had such a wonderful stay at Dans Riverview cottage! It’s walking distance to everything, has everything you could ask for and allowed the entire extended family (from 3–72) to comfortably stay together. Would definitely stay again!

Enjoyed walking to town. You do need to bring your own supplies. Needed to purchase extra paper towels, toilet paper, and trash bags. They don’t supply much. Had one issue with communication with owners. The pool gate was not working and some of our group and 2 other families renting were locked in the pool. The electric gate would not work. Called owner for help and he said he would make calls but never did. Finally reached the person he said he would call an hour later and she had never heard from him. She did help and had a contractor out quickly to help.

Pool daily and walked to town and went to dunes and brewery’s.
Such a wonderful location.
Beds were so comfortable. Homey and wonderful neighborhood w other renters that we met last year weee there this same week as us.

We wanted a little getaway from Chicago for the weekend. We found out it at this cute cottage in New Buffalo. It was clean and well kept. It was walking distance to the heart of New Buffalo. Great location and great amenities!

We had a great experience renting and staying at this beautiful home! The home is well appointed, beautifully decorated,
and cozy. All beds are very comfortable. Walking distance to downtown New Buffalo and near the beach makes it a great location. Wish we could have stayed longer!

First thing that is not mentioned in the Home description is that this property is directly across the railroad tracks and a loud amtrak train flys by every few hours. The second thing is the owner has a check out process in which they want you to strip the beds, take out all the garbage and do the dishes before you leave. We paid a hefty sum per night (for a winter stay with no access to pool) plus a cleaning fee.. Why are we being told to clean and leave the place basically spotless AND have to pay a ridiculous cleaning fee. Thats absurd for the amount we paid in total. I left 4 stars because its a nice place and Im a nice guy but people definitely should know about the train tracks and the expectations from the owner with the high price tag.

Riverview is a BEAUTIFUL home!! It was perfect for a large group. We had plenty of room to make meals, enjoy evening cocktails, and watch movies in the basement. The house is even better than described. It was a very short walk to the beach as well as to amazing restaurants (Brewsters, Beer Church, and the Stray Dog). The house was clean. The beds were VERY Comfortable. Overall, this has been one our favorites for our annual college reunion/wine trip.

What a well thought out rental property! The house was stocked with everything we needed (towels, hair dryer, kitchen tools, etc.) and the location was incredible. Extremely impressed with the comfort of all of the beds/pillows as well. You can't beat this location... we walked everywhere! Communication with the owner was always fast and easy. Highly recommend!

House was nice and enough beds for our large family gathering. Great location to walk to restaurants, coffee, beach, and shops. Pool was a bonus for the kids because the lake is cold! Management provided good communication throughout. Would recommend!!

We had a nice summer family vacation. House was clean and exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed using the pool each day as well. Only complaint would be one of the tvs in the basement bedroom wasn't working at the time.

We stayed at this home for my dad’s birthday! 3 kids and 5 adults. The home was beautiful, clean and the location was unbeatable! We will be back!

Great place
We had a great time. Kids loved their room upstairs with the beds and cubby system. Space was perfect for 3 couples and 3 kids. Great table in basement for cards and games. We absolutely consider renting again. All the renters in the other units were enjoyable to be around as well
