Great view and location. Perfect place to stay the night on a leisure bike ride on the shimanami kaido.
Would have been nice to at least have a sink in the tent room. No toilets and showers are understandable

View was great, breakfast was healthy and delicious.
The path to the rooms could have been more level and better lit.
My husband who is a bit older had to walk very slowly when getting back to our room after dinner.

Beautiful area with great views, we enjoyed the dome tent experience. Staff were all wonderful and facilities very clean.

Nice view, comfortable room, good food. Decent place after a long riding, in the middle of Shimanami tour. Nice service.
Dinner is quite expensive and need to book one day ahead. No beach.

Excellent apartment on the coast

Amazing Japanese Barbeque dinner with great service from the staff. The view from the cabin was fantastic at sunset looking out over the great suspension bridge. Highly recommend to stay here if doing the Shimanami Kaido.

Great location and the barbeque dinner was a highlight of our bike trip.

New and modern accomodation! We needed to split our cycle trip into 2 days, and we chose the right place, absolutely enjoyed our stay there. The view from our cottage was lovely, breakfast was so tasty! The staff helped us with dinner place nearby, also helpful.
The single bed was a little too small for us but was not a big issue:)

Location and lodging was very cool, our friends got the tent and we got the cottage. Both were very cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately it was raining both days we were there so we didn't get to relax outside too much, but nonetheless it was a comfortable stay!

Excellent stay when biking Shimanami Kaido. Dome tents, staff and food were all amazing. Blown away by this amazing place! Stay here if you can - you will not regret it!

Good place for a stop on the shimanami kaido cycling route. Great service and breakfast.

All staff were exceptional, the food was delicious and substantial, and the location is beautiful. The glamping tent was even better than expected and was very clean and well-equipped. we would stay again in a heartbeat.
Nothing to say here!

one of the most incredible and memorable places I’ve stayed. The staff are so welcoming, so kind and exceptional. The food is delicious and the view is amazing.

WAKKA is more than a hotel or a cafe, it’s a whole experience! And rather an incredible one. It’s probably one of the best places we ever visited in our travels. From the moment we arrived to departing, the staff had been absolutely amazing and helpful, making our day brighter despite the heavy rain. The tents are gorgeous and super cozy, the beds are comfortable and many utilities are at disposal (pyjamas, toiletries, jackets, indoor and outdoor sleepers, charging outlets) making the whole stay easy and even more enjoyable. Would also recommend enjoying the BBQ served in front of the tent for dinner, which is seasonal, local and flavourful! The breakfast was great, served on the terrace which has an incredible view and relaxing vibe + the coffee is delicious!

Wakka was a great location for cyclists and we received a very warm welcome. Our cottage was really warm and cosy which was especially important as it poured with rain all light. The barbecue set up was superb and young man serving us was delightful.

A great place to stay with a beautiful outlook. We had a western style cabin for 2 with private facilities. Nicely appointed with very comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. Also very quiet as there are no adjoining walls despite the cabins being in a row. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. They recommended local places to eat which were thin on the ground due to the time of year and days we were staying. They also run free shuttles to the local Brewpub and other attractions in the main village a few Ks away. We rented e-bikes on site which although a little pricy was well worth it for the convenience. Breakfast is great and taken in a multipurpose space overlooking the bridge.
Nit picking, the chalets lack a bit of insulation so it got pretty chilly overnight if you didn’t want the rather viscous heater on, but the duvets were big and very snug.

We really love the atmosphere, sceneries and facilities of the accommodation. The staffs were really friendly and provided excellent services. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time. Thank you, wakka!

It’s obvious the guests are first in everything they do.
perhaps access to the women’s shower can be 24/7. After a long bike trip, the shower may be desired later than the office hours to obtain the key.

Best view, best facilities and best staff in Japan so far. Shuttle service to restaurants.

What did we not like?! This place is amazing! The staff, the design, the food, the attention to detail...we only have good things to say about Wakka and can't wait to stay again in the future. It's a great middle point on the Shimanami Kaido cycling route (offering bike maintenance as well). The owner is so lovely and so hands-on, his can-do attitude really made a difference. They offer transportation services around the islands too which is a game-changer if you need same-day luggage deliveries (Sagawa and Yamato seem to have discontinued these).
4.7
Beautiful location and very easy to get to if you are doing the bike ride. During the evening they kindly dropped us off at a local brewery and recommended a great little Izakaya and then picked us up. Great stay for the evening.

Our stay at Wakka was amazing!!! We have stayed at many hotels all over Japan and this resort stands out as the best! Every detail from the design of rooms, layout of resort and the flow of the guests has been meticulously thought out. We felt so safe there (during corona virus) and could fully relax. Our bbq dinner on our patio was delicious and hit the spot after a day of cycling. The staff also was so friendly and helpful, having Claudio speak English was such a treat!
Nothing just that we had to leave after only one night!

Cute and cozy rooms with amazing view from the bed and private veranda. Very friendly, English-speaking stuff that explained about the origin of the food and drinks we had (a lot of them locally produced). Dinner an breakfast were very tasty. Dinner was served on the veranda and we had our private BBQ.
When having dinner there was no drink menu or information about prices.
