About this apartment rental
This is a stunning, one-bed, first-floor contemporary apartment of 40 m2 has a secluded sunny balcony at the rear. The apartment is in a detached building with quiet shop below, and 20 metres from the heart of one of Cornwall's most sought-after villages.
It has one double bedroom and, in the living room, a large L-shaped sofa which kids can sleep on at a pinch (bedding is provided) but there is no stairgate for infants.
It boasts a wood stove of the highest environmental spec as well as electric heaters powered by solar PV panels on the roof, as is the hot water from the powerful shower.
At hand are various shops, restaurants, the famous St Agnes hotel, Nisa mini-supermarket for all your food and drink needs, and a Post Office counter, cash point, craft shop and several cafés.
The beach is 10 minutes on foot. The apartment has outside space for safely storing surf boards or bicycles.
GETTING IN
KEYS – THERE IS A KEYBOX AT THE BACK OF THE BUILDING. WE REGULARLY CHANGE THE CODE SO MAKE SURE YOU ASK US FOR THE LATEST ONE. There will be an additional key waiting for you in the house, please look after it and put one back in the box when you leave.
PLEASE NOTE YOU SHOULD NOT ARRIVE BEFORE 4PM ON THE DAY OF ARRIVAL AND LEAVE BY 10AM ON THE DAY OF DEPARTURE, TO ALLOW FOR CLEANING. However, you may be able to drop your luggage at the flat prior to 4pm, or have it before 4pm if there is not a same-day changeover, or depart later than 1000. We will try to be as accommodating but have to be strict with same-day changeovers.
ARRIVING & PARKING
When you are coming down the one-way street called Vicarage Road, the road dips down into the center of the village. The apartment is above “Malcolm & Ginette’s” hairdresser on the left, just before you reach the village, you can’t miss it. Our front door is just down the alley on the right with a sign outside showing “1b Churchtown”.
Stop on the RHS just opposite the flat to unload your luggage, then follow the one-way street out of the village, down the hill, and turn right up British Road, at the top left and first right into Trelawny Road, where there is a public car park which about 300m away along Vicarage Road.
In 2022 the council started charging for parking there, at £5.20 per day, but at least this got rid of all the dumped cars in there so there are usually now spaces available.
It is a good idea to download the RingGo app to your smartphone so you are ready to pay. Parking is payable from 0700-1800 Monday to Saturday. You can do this remotely on the app, meaning you don’t have to display a parking ticket. location is 39850.
NOTE for EV drivers: There are now two chargers – 7 kW and 25 kW – down at Trevaunance Cove, about 10 minutes on foot away. The slower one is cheaper than the faster one. They are run my “Mer” if you wish to download the app in advance.
USING THE APARTMENT
The kitchen is very well equipped and there should be everything you need including washing-up liquid, washing powder, dishwasher tablets etc under the sink. The washing machine is adjacent to the breakfast bar, accessible from a door opposite the stair case. There should be a welcome pack of tea, coffee, etc too. The oven is a micro-wave/oven combi – please see separate instructions in the kitchen.
Hot water – is from a tank in the loft so there should always be plenty of hot water. There is a big solar PV system on the roof which powers the fridge, etc and the hot water.
Heating – there are some electric radiators (St Agnes has no gas) which you can put on. Each has a separate blue wall switch next to it which you can push for 30 minutes, 60 minutes or two hours. Then press the bottom symbol on the circle of controls on the unit itself.
The place should stay warm as the walls and loft have thick insulation and the windows meet the latest heat regulations. The flat is as eco as we can make it.
Woodstove – We supply one bag of logs per set of clients. If you want more, the fruit and veg shop “The Veg Box”, about 300m to the right of the flat, beyond the turning to the car park, sells it. The Spar on the other side of the road sells it too. There should be kindling, firelighters and matches in one of the baskets beneath the TV. See separate instructions in the kitchen on how to use the stove.
TV, Hifi – see separate instruction card near the TV/hifi.
The balcony – is just off the bedroom and is south-facing so gets plenty of afternoon sun. There is a table & two chairs for your use and a light which you can switch on from inside the bedroom.
Other – there is an ironing board and iron and a hoover in the pine chest near the front windows. Please lift the lamp off the chest carefully when opening it. There is a clothes-drying rack under the sofa.
Shopping – Everything is right on your doorstep. There is a Nisa supermarket two doors down with plenty of food and wine, a post office counter, etc. Open 0730 to 2230 everyday except Sunday which is 0830 to 2230.
Opposite it is Mission Fish & Chips with a cash point next to it. Other great shops and cafés are there too. The famous St Agnes Hotel is a is about 150m from the apartment. The Peterville Inn through the village and down the hill is also great, as is the Tap House bar.
Surfing - The apartment has outside space round the back for safely storing surf boards or bicycles. There is a hose pipe there to clean wet suits, dogs, etc. PLEASE DO NOT BRING ANY WET SUITS, BOARDS UP INTO THE APARTMENT. There is a padlock with code “1066” to lock your stuff in. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE CANNOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR BELONGINGS SHOULD THEY GET LOST OR STOLEN.
Rubbish – Amazingly, the council has done away with the recycling bins it used to have in the Trelawney car park. So please put all your rubbish in a black bag and leave it for our cleaners to collect when you leave. Collection day is Monday. If you wish to dispose of rubbish during your stay, there is also a bin for normal rubbish 10 m up the road.

Great accommodation. Spacious open plan living area. Comfortable bed and the sofa is also comfortable to sleep on. The owner was very kind and purchased a travel cot for us to use which saved us bringing one. Car park was close by and a great location in the middle of St Agnes centre. We had a great stay thank you :-)

Lovely flat in central location
We had a great week staying at this flat, right in the centre of St Agnes. The flat is modern and very well equipped with a small, sunny balcony at the rear and a large comfortable double bed. The village has a great choice of places to eat and drink, a bakery, a couple of take aways and a small selection of shops. We really enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect apartment in a great location!
We had a lovely five-night stay here with our dachshund. It’s got everything you need to self-cater and plenty of space. The bed is very comfy and the shower was fab! Would recommend the bakery just down the street and the fish and chip shop just metres away. We would definitely stay again if we were visiting the area. Thank you 😁
