About this house rental
We've owned the Hall House for 30 years and since then, she has been a primary residence, a vacation rental and a long term rental several times. Now she's back on VRBO and better than ever. She's been given a facelift, we've added some technology, new appliances and landscaping. She's ready to welcome guests who love history and Saluda...check us out and come for a visit.
If you love Inn's and B&B's, you'll appreciate this 1920's Craftsmen's Cottage...decorated with period antiques and lots of charm. This 2 bedroom and 1 bath cottage is cozy and inviting, just like your grandmother's house. There is a large, private deck on the back for quiet time or dinner and the covered front porch is perfect for 'porching' with passersby. The kitchen is fully equipped (actually over equipped) and the house is guest ready down to the wonderful linens. We have all you need to enjoy your stay.
It's just a 5 minute walk to Saluda's Historic Business District. There you can feast on a menu that includes highly-rated restaurants, great galleries, the Saluda Library with Internet access, and wonderful antique shops. We are just 30 miles from Asheville, the famous Biltmore House and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Hendersonville is 12 miles away and home to North Carolina's State Theatre, the Flat Rock Playhouse, the Carl Sandburg Home and much more. About 20 minutes away is the Tryon International Equestrian Center where you can enjoy competition equestrian events, eat and shop! We are minutes to the Green River, one of North Carolina's beautiful Wildlife Rivers and the site of the International Green River Games where you can tube, canoe, or fish. We are surrounded by some of the state's best hiking opportunities, so come stomp the mountains!
Saluda can be and is enjoyed 12 months a year. Summers are mild and a great time to bring the kids and discover how much fun you can have in the mountains. Fall combines brisk days and beautiful colors when the trees provide a wonderful opportunity for picture-taking and hiking. Lots of guests enjoy bringing their families and friends to Saluda for the holidays. Spring is the time when Saluda comes back to life with lots of bulbs and flowers. We have some great gardens and they can viewed by merely strolling through our residential district. Come explore, relax, heal, experience and enjoy all that is Saluda!

Our intent was to reserve a place for our family to stay at for mountain bike racing at Ride Rock Creek. We needed a kitchen for preparing meals, reasonable access to the park, and a place for us to crash. What we encountered was an unexpected delight; a little renewing getaway that we had not planned on. The home is a pure retreat full of beauty and functionality. It is also an easy walk to a beautiful little town, Saluda. Thank you for providing a space above and beyond expected!

We Loved Hall House! Beautiful inside and out and very clean and fresh feeling. Great proximity to downtown Saluda for food and shopping. We took an inflatable kayak tour with Green River Adventures which is located Right in Town! The house was very well decorated and stocked with everything you need. Comfortable beds, private feel. Would highly recommend!

We had a great stay in this old, restored and well-maintained house in Saluda! We happened to be there during the annual festival that celebrates coonhound dogs, including AKC trials for some of the breeds. The festival provided a great activity for our Hendersonville family, though we didn't go to the dog shows!
Saluda is a cute little town tucked into the mountains. There's nothing not to like there!
The house is great, and the kitchen is one of the best-stocked we've experienced in a rental house. The map of where everything is stored helped a lot.
Thanks, Laura!

This was the second time we’ve stayed immediately after Christmas to see family in Saluda. It’s the perfect location for us, but even without proximity to family, it’s an easy walk to downtown Saluda for shopping/dining, and a short drive from Hendersonville and Asheville. Very cute, very comfortable home.

This home was everything. I thought it would be from the description and even more. it was clean and just so well loved all the things that make it a home where there so comfortable. You could tell the owner takes pride in what she does and her home would recommend this place to anyone.

What you see online is what you get and more. The pictures online are just like the house. What you don’t see is the attention to detail, so many amenities, ex towels, linens, extremely well stocked kitchen, and snacks. Everything was well laid out, with explanations of how things work and great information all together in one book.Very quiet setting, comfy beds, close to town and so many places to explore. Would highly recommend.

Wonderfully cared for house within walking distance to the small but charming town of Saluda. The only thing I’ll note for families with small kids is that a short part of the walk is without a sidewalk. We navigated it just fine and there’s almost no traffic to worry about. In fact, it looks like some people travel by golf cart to town!
Laura was very communicative and I enjoyed the recommendations and stories she shared in the guest book.
Our kids loved the fuzzy socks she provided to wear around the house!

Could not have had a better experience for my much needed get away. Hall House is a wonderful cheerful cozy home away from home. Laura is the best host ever. Greeted me with fresh home-baked cookies!
There are two bedrooms, each with their own unique style. I chose the pink room. Mattress was very comfortable and I slept very well. I had a really bad experience at a cabin I stayed in and the mattress made me leave early! Sleep is very important.
House was very clean and well appointed. Laura even has a sketch of what was in each cabinet!
If you are looking for a peaceful restful place to recharge, book the Hall House. You won't be disappointed. I will return.

We have stayed at many VRBOs across the Southeast but this one is special. It was impeccably clean, smelled wonderfully, decorated beautifully, and even the beds were really comfortable. You can tell the owners put a lot of love into this precious home and we were so happy to spend a few nights there. The location is an easy walk to downtown Saluda while still in a super quiet setting. We can't wait to visit again. Thank you for the hospitality and yummy cookies!

This was the first time we booked with Verbo. We loved it. The Hall House was great. The host Laura thinks of everything. From home made bake goods to sugar scrub in the bathroom. If you like a quite place that feels like home, you will love it. Lots to do in the surrounding areas. Hope to visit again soon.

Twenty five family members came for Thanksgiving so we rented several places for individual families. Our son and his family stayed at this property. The location was perfect for our house and walking around Saluda. Our host, Laura Fields, went above and beyond with a delicious homemade cake and snacks. The house is so charming and comfortably furnished. We would definitely rent this house again.

This is our 2nd summer at the Hall House; Clearly we love it! This quaint little home is perfect for a quiet getaway in a quiet town. Walking distance to downtown where you can grab a bite at Ward's or breakfast at the Wakey Monkey. Take some cool pics on the old abandoned railroad tracks. Up for adventure? Try Green River Adventures and DO IT ALL!!!! You will not be disappointed. The Hall House has a full kitchen with everything you need and a grill out back on the large porch. A large dining room table to have a home cooked meal or play games. The smaller of the two bedrooms is beautifully decorated for a lady. Bed and linens are very comfortable. Larger room is more masculine and also has comfy bed and linens. My only wish is that there would be at least 1 king size bed, but again the ones there are very comfortable. The wash room is surprisingly spacious given when the home was built. The living room is quaint but perfect for a family of 4 to cuddle up and watch a movie. Most nights, after dinner and before movie time, I would sit on the front porch and read a few chapters of my book and just listen to the peacefulness. If you have to leave Saluda nothing is really that far...Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Hendersonville all within 30 minutes. I highly recommend this home and we will be back for summer #3 next year.

My little group of 3 loved this cozy cottage. It had a beautiful back deck. The front porch was a lot of fun to visit on. The beds were so comfortable and the linens were wonderful. Coming from 3 RN's with bad backs this means a lot. The kitchen was well stocked with anything you could ask for meal prep. The whole place was VERY CLEAN.
We had an emergency and had to leave in the middle of the night so I didn't get a chance to leave a thank you note for the owner. Thank you so very much for sharing your cottage with us.

Hall House is Special. It is warm and welcoming. We arrived rather late after a long drive and were greeted buy this wonderful home which was immaculate and ready for us, equipped with everything we needed for our week long stay. Laura was so thoughtful and generous. She prepared the home with an attention to detail from the bedding to the kitchen utensils and left us muffins and other treats for our arrival. Laura personally visited us and informed us of the history of the home and the area. Really nice. Our stay was so much better than we could have hoped for. This is certainly 5 star in every respect. We can't wait to return!

The property itself is excellent - a 1920s mountain cottage, well maintained and updated, all necessities for a completely comfortable stay provided without being fussy, quiet location within easy walking distance of town. The owners themselves are exceptional. They have thought of everything we'd need for our stay, are responsive to any calls/questions, and are just lovely people. We are sure to return!
