About this cottage rental
Seabird Cottage is a charming, traditional Cottage situated in the delightful fishing port of Brixham, It is a great 'bolthole' escape to get away from it all.
An authentic fisherman's cottage, it has been modernised to ensure comfort and convenience whilst retaining many traditional features including exposed beams believed to be reclaimed ships timbers and masts.
Enter from the street into a cosy sitting room, with multi-fuel wood burner (in additional to full central heating) through to a fully fitted kitchen
made bright and airy by roof windows above. For those who like to cook you will find what you need to try out some new recipes having sourced the ingredients from the deli, butchers and grocers as well as well stocked supermarkets just across the road.
For those who don't want to cook, there are many great restaurants just as close and a very nice pub in our street!
The bathroom, also on this level, consists of large shower, wash hand basin and toilet.
Access to the furnished raised terrace garden outside, is through the rear door and up some steps. In summer, the sun is there most of the day so it is ideal to start with a coffee or to enjoy a glass of wine after a day of exploring South Devon.
There are two good sized bedrooms accessed by the winding traditional 'Brixham' staircase, a double bed to the front and two singles in the rear bedroom overlooking the terrace garden.
Seabird Cottage is the perfect place to base your holiday to enjoy the delights of South Devon, with seaside walks, sailing, fishing and boat trips, or travel by steam train along the beautiful South Devon coast. Apart from deepest winter the very reasonably priced ferry service goes to the heart of Torquay, Paignton, Totnes and Dartmouth so no traffic or car parking hassle even in the height of summer !
If you prefer, you can relax in the town's pubs (one of the best is in our street but has never disturbed us) There are many great restaurants especially if you like fish. You can have a coffee or a cream tea and browse round the shops. Explore the winding streets and numerous 'steps' linking the streets and areas of the old fishing village..
The walks along the coast both towards Berry Head and towards Broad sands along the South Devon Coastal Path (Blackbeard's Trail) are not to be missed. Literally 3 minutes away is the harbour and main high street. Our favourite pastime is to walk round the harbourside towards Berry Head to Breakwater Beach for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea and watch the sun rise or set all year round.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Price quoted is to rent the cottage with a party of up to 4 persons.
NB Bank Holidays are charged at the appropriate weekend rate

a cosy cottage with a lot of charm!

Lovely accommodation, very clean, the only thing I can say is if you struggle climbing stairs then you might think twice as ok going up but coming down is quite steep.

The cottage is lovely and was perfect for my sister and I to enjoy a few days in Devon. It’s been sympathetically modernised inside without losing any of its original charm. All was clean, tidy and well maintained. Even with a pub just a few doors down, it’s quiet and we weren’t disturbed at all. There’s a lovely terrace to enjoy the morning/evening sun.
Parking was straight forward thanks to clear advice in advance. We loved exploring the local area with such a nice base to come back to. We were lucky with the weather but, even so, you’d enjoy your stay here regardless.
We’d definitely recommend this cottage as a cosy and comfortable place to stay at any time of year! Thank you!

We had a fantastic stay in the cottage, which was in a great location for the main harbour, a great local pub (6 doors down), various public parking (buy a permit from Torbay council website) and town centre.
All rooms were perfectly clean and very well equipped.
Great area out the back to sit in the sun and enjoy a drink.
We will definitely return in the future.

Myself and my two girls had a wonderful stay at Angela's beautiful cottage. It was the perfect home from home and so central to everything. Angela was ever so helpful with advice and answered any questions we had. We'd love to stay again in the future. Thanks so much!

great cottage but downstairs loo a problem at night. stairs very steep and difficult to manage.
on arrival next door (to right of property looking on) were banging out very loud drum and base music at which reverberated against walls (and they are very thick). there was a dirty old armchair dumped outside the front window which really let the property down.however there was nothing you guys could have done about this...everything else about the cottage and weekend was excellent and very enjoyable. sorry about the negativity but just wanted to be honest!!!

Thanks for our great stay at your lovely cottage. Very comfortable beds, furnishings and a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed relaxing in the patio/garden area too. Good location for walking around the harbour and to good restaurants and shops. Enjoyed walking out to Berry Head Hotel and having their afternoon cream tea. We, three adults, would definitely like to come back in the future.

Very clean and well equipped cottage. The parking was fine once we had found the long stay car park about 10 minutes walk away. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Clean, tidy and well equipt cottage. Double glazing great as could be noisey on the street due to the pub being a few doors down.
Everyone very friendly and brixham was beatiful. Great places to eat and drink and all on the door step.
Parking difficult some days but with patience and a little walk we always found somwhere,it just ment getting up early to go out to move the car out of the restrictions on the roads.
Angela was a great host and nothing was to much trouble
Thaks for the memories of a lovely holiday in devon.

We had a wonderful stay in Brixham! The cottage was fantastic and had everything we needed. It was so cosy and it’s in the perfect location. Angela was so helpful and quick to respond right from booking. We had our two girls with us aged 8 and 5 and they had no trouble whatsoever with the stairs. I highly recommend the Manor Pub just a few doors away too!
Thank you so much - we will definitely be back!

Seabird cottage is clean, well equipped and quiet. It’s well located and we quickly got our bearings, realising we were literally a few minutes walk from the main shopping street and the harbour area.
We easily unloaded the car and moved it to a nearby street for the night, putting it in a long stay car park the next morning.
Communication, from Angela, before our stay was welcoming, comprehensive and useful.
The outside table & chairs are a climb up some steps but a very nice space to drink morning coffee.

All was okay, a nice atmosphere, nearby the harbour, the place for parking was difficult

Lovely clean little cottage. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen and bathroom.
Really enjoyed our stay.
Staircase was not the easiest but other than this it was perfect.

Angela's Cottage is a perfect place for a family with older children (the stairs would probably be too dangerous for children under 6). It is nicely furnished, neat and very well located. It had everything we needed and we definitely recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our weekend, it’s a top quality cottage that is beautifully presented in a great location; we had no problems with parking a short distance away. It’s cosy but with enough space for our family, we would definitely return. Thanks Angela for a great time!

Lovely property, ideal for small family. Very helpful hosts. Will be back.

The property was clean and well equipped (the only thing lacking was a washing machine - my preference would have been for this to be present rather than a dishwasher}.
There was a query with the host of the property and this was responded to promptly. Also unfortunately there was an issue with fire alarms at the property going off without an incident but I believe this was coincidental.
The interior of the property was stylishly furnished with a theme to match the seaside / harbour feel of Brixham itself.
The stairs at the house were very steep but this was highlighted in the literature.
The property is up some steep steps from the nearby car park which adjoins the shops in the town and a few minutes walk to the main pubs and restaurants. The Manor pub is less than a minutes walk door to door but it only does food - a pizza night on alternative Thursdays.
