Upstairs, at the far back of the loft, you will find a king bed, twin/full bunk bed, a full bathroom and 55” Samsung TV. In the open area of the loft overlooking the main level and the lake, there’s a full size bed for heavy sleepers.
The main floor features vaulted ceiling, a gas fireplace in the great room, fully equipped kitchen, 55’ Samsung TV, one full bathroom with tub, a bedroom with king bed and a small bedroom with queen bed.
Downstairs you’ll find the pool table, 82” Samsung TV, second gas fireplace, wet bar, half bath, twin bunk bed, and sectional sofa with a pull-out bed (bring your own linens for pull out bed).
This three-bedroom, 2.5 bath cabin will accommodate a total of 8 guests. Make sure everyone is comfortable with the open floor design before booking. Floor plan diagram for all three levels is located within the photos.
The cabin has floor to ceiling views of the lake from all three levels. Enjoy relaxing and dining on either of two expansive decks, both overlooking the lake. Main level has a large propane BBQ for your use. Step out onto either deck to find stairs leading to a footpath down to the lake.
The kitchen has everything you need to make meals. The refrigerator and freezer are located in the drawers, with plenty of additional space available in the full size refrigerator/freezer downstairs. The cooking range faces the living space and the lake, allowing for great flow between the kitchen, deck, the living room.
Off the main floor there’s a large deck with comfy seating and a dining table to take in the fresh air, views, sunsets and stars at night.
Located five minutes from West End Beach on South Shore Drive, this serene, private lakefront property is on the quiet, secluded side of the lake.
Situated at mid-point on the lake between the West End Public Beach (1.6 miles) and Donner State Park (1.3 mile), there is no shortage of beaches or activities to enjoy. A light-weight fold-up wagon located in the garage is available for your use to tote beach gear and toddlers (.6 mile walk to China Beach).

We stayed at this property with 4 adults and 2 kids. It was perfect. The space was utilized very smart and Karen made herself available for any questions we had. Would recommend!

Karen was a delight to work with! The Kitchen is very well stocked, with lots of thought for making your vacation a success ! the beds and bedding first rate. The dock is comfortable, fun, and has shade almost all day long! Our issue was the cleaning , I think the crew rushed through. (Karen was surprised not the normal) Also we had a couple of slips on the steps to the dock, take your time. Great views and one of the nicest docks for comfort and usability.

Amazing location. Fully stocked kitchen. Extremely comfortable beds and bedding. Once the new dock is entirely finished it’s going to be amazing! We enjoyed it thoroughly. Karen was super responsive and helpful.

The establishment has three flights of stairs that must be navigated to obtain food and luggage. Construction was ongoing during the weekend, causing further inconvenience. Workers occupied parking spaces, and the lack of a dock was conspicuous. The prices are unreasonable, especially considering the outdated 70s interior. The building does not meet city code standards, making it a safety hazard. I cannot recommend this house despite the one free night I received.

Our family stayed at Karen’s cabin on Donner lake for a week this winter. We had a fabulous time. The location was ideal for multiple skiing, locations and close to Truckee. There are beautiful lake views on every floor. Karen has also thought of everything from kitchen utensils to games to luxurious linens and towels. It was super clean and incredibly comfortable. We all had a an amazing time and hope to experience Donner Lake at this house during the summer months. It’s paradise.

Perfect location for a family getaway. Amazing view with a private dock for fishing, swimming, or just relaxing. Owners were very helpful and easily reachable via phone or text. We hope to make this a yearly vacation. Thank you!

The weather wasn't ideal, but the house was cozy with plenty of games and puzzles and lots of room for the 3 small families to spread out. It was well stocked with kitchen utensils and all the things necessary for cooking and cleaning in a rental house. The kitchen is remodeled but it was a bit quirky to have a refrigerator and freezer drawer vs. a full unit (it's in the basement) but it worked out fine. LOTS of stairs to get down into the unit and to walk trash up top. They aren't lying when they say people with mobility issues should not rent the house. The views are STELLAR and we used the dock for our boat. Wish we could have spent more time outside but it was too chilly and wet. The owners were great to work with. We love Donner Lake -it's a magical place!

We like to say that there is nothing better to spend your money on than family time together. We had a memorable summer week with our adult sons and partners on Donner Lake. Spending time on the dock at this property was a highlight. Waking up to the beautiful view of the lake, swimming and sporting on the water all day, ending the day with a sunset from the dock - that's a vacation day. The cabin is a short walk from the state park for easy trail and beach access. The 6 of us love to cook and the kitchen is well stocked. The cabin is so organized that it is easy to find what you are looking for. Very welcoming decor, comfortable beds and furnishings. Not stripped down and sterile feeling like some other rentals. Fun pool table and games for all the family. The host is very responsive to questions and cheerful to communicate with. Thank you for sharing your Donner Lake house!!

We just arrived back home and are already looking forward to next time.
Our family so enjoyed our stay this week that we have already booked this wonderful home for next summer! As everyone has already stated, absolutely every attention was paid to every detail.
The cabin was spotless, everything was so well labeled, the beds were so comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and then there was the million dollar view!
We all decided that we met our stair/steps requirements with a built in exercise program using the stairs to get to the street or down to the dock.
Thank you to Karen, you were always available to meet all of our needs.

Our family enjoyed this quiet, lakefront location. It allowed various age groups to get in the water to swim, paddle board and kayak or stay up at the cabin reading and playing games. The property had all the amenities we needed for our our week vacation.

We loved our stay- you can’t beat the location and the convenience of a private dock. There was more space than we needed for our family of four, which allowed us to spread out. The kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed, allowing us to eat our meals in, while enjoying the view. My kids loved the pool table too! Karen is an excellent host, communicating with us all along the way. We will be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at this special property. Beautiful views, very comfortable, clean, kitchen had everything we needed and was well organized, many well thought out details, close to trails and beautiful walks by the lake. Our stay at Karen's home couldn't have been any better! No stone was unturned to make the experience seamless in every way. The house was set up perfect for a couple of families. Plenty of space for everyone to relax. Beautiful view of the lake. We had a few questions Karen responded quickly and was a great host very helpful. Karen has everything in the house you need. We were there when it was snowing so we were able to enjoy everything covered in Snow White. We would love to come back in the summer.

Beautiful property. Kids loved the pool table downstairs while watching the playoff game. Multiple levels which was nice. Kids could be noisier downstairs. Main level has bedrooms with doors to eliminate kitchen/Livingroom noise and top floor great for an entire family with the best lookout views. No complaints. Love how everything labeled, had no difficulty finding anything. Literally right on the lake. Felt like we were in a winter wonderland snow globe. I would re-book this. Only minor inconvenience was lots of steep stairs leading down to property. Wouldn’t have minded if I wasn’t still recovering from knee surgery. However, stairs were heated, safe and clear of snow.

Wow! The breathtaking views of Donner Lake will bring us back. This place had everything you could want or need. Attention to detail, clean, lots of labels and notes on “how to” left little to guess at. Karen was very nice and helpful. Truckee is close by, fun to explore a good places to eat and drink. We hope to return in the summer for some lake action!

We had a great time in this amazing cabin. The owners are super organized and everything is labeled and easy to find. The beds are of really good quality and everything was super clean. But what makes this cabin so amazing is the decks and private access to the lake. We spent a lot of time just sitting on the deck enjoying the view and the piece and quite. The location is top notch and only 10 minutes away from downtown Truckee. We will definitely be returning and can highly recommend this cabin.

Donner Lake is one of our favorite places to visit and we are so excited to have discovered this beautiful lakefront home. Everything was so cozy and relaxing about the house. The views were spectacular, the kitchen was lovely to cook in with all the light coming through, the beds were very comfortable and there were so many fun spots to hang out on each level. My kids loved the pool table and hangout area. The dock was of course a highlight of the home. Thank you Karen for your wonderful communication and for sharing your family lake house with us.
