About this apartment rental
Freshly renovated, unique and extremely private studio in downtown Mystic, situated on a historic property with nearly an acre of land, one block from the Mystic River with river views. Four minute walk to beautiful downtown Mystic restaurants and attractions. The studio can accommodate up to four with a queen size bed and a fold out queen size couch. Ideally suited for a couple.
It features a private patio and sitting area, kitchen and dining area in a stand alone beautiful cottage.
*There are 10 stone stairs leading up to the cottage.
*We have Wheaten Terriers on the property in the main house.

We highly recommend Hemingway Retreat and we will definitely be staying here again.
The cottage is clean, cosy, comfortable and has a nice ambiance. Caitlin has provided some snacks, sodas and water as well as a Keuring coffee maker and a variety of coffee.
The property is quiet and is only a short walk to town, (sidewalks all of the way) which during the busy season alleviates trying to find parking. Walking at night felt very safe.
Caitlin and Chris met us upon our arrival and were helpful with suggestions for places to eat. Thank you.

The sweetest little cottage tucked away from the busy shops! Hubby and I had a weekend of events to attend including a wedding and even though the space is studio style, we had enough room to spread out and get ready without tripping over each other. It's quiet and cozy, the perfect place to recharge!

Everything about this visit was wonderful. Perfect place and super clean. The hosts were terrific and made sure there were no issues. Plus the location was terrific! Close to downtown, but very quiet!

From booking to check out, excellent experience. Fast communication with host. Very accommodating. The house was clean, neat, cozy, private and the location couldn't be better. We could walk to everything. Just by the water. Amazing in the mornings with the fog covering the water down the road. Fire pit at night. Pleasant surprise to find snacks and drinks in fridge. Can't recommend this amazing place enough. The host also recommended places to eat. Great great delicious food within walking distance. My girlfriend and I were beyond happy with the stay, just wished we didn't have to work the next day so we could stay longer.

The hosts were very quick to respond to any questions. The location and quaintness of their listing was fantastic! I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this rental. I do not know how four people would actually fit. My daughter and I would definitely stay again and will most likely plan a trip in the next several weeks. The location is fabulous! Many thanks!

I stayed here with my wife and 6 month old while visiting family for the Holidays. The place was very clean with nice amenities, had easy check in/access and perfect for our stay. It’s in a great location, walking distance away from downtown Mystic yet quiet and private. Overall had a wonderful stay!

The Hemingway Retreat was exactly what we were looking for! It was cozy with all of the essential amenities, within walking distance so we didn't need to find parking, cozy, and the owners were so kind! We highly recommend this cottage and would love to return one day!

Very clean. No need to get in our car all weekend!! Second time staying here! Great place, has everything you need for a two person visit. One thing to note, for anyone who may have a sensitivity to smells, the plug in air fresheners can be very overwhelming and asthma triggering. Also, renters would benefit from a hook or two to hang a wet towel.

This little studio cottage is in a fantastic location. It’s an easy 5 minute walk to downtown Mystic. Caitlin was so nice and easy to communicate with and the space is clean and quiet. We loved our stay there and will definitely be back.

The property and entire area are beautiful. The cottage was really enjoyable, and the host thought of everything to make our stay just perfect. The location cannot be beat with so much within a really enjoyable walking area.

My husband and I stayed at the Hemingway House for a weekend getaway. The place is immaculately clean and well equipped. The bed could be more comfortable, but it did the job. The hosts were very friendly and respectful of our privacy. The location was perfect. Just a short, lovely walk to downtown Mystic.

Not only is the cottage cute and clean, the location is perfect! We were so close to everything in Mystic! Our two young boys were even able to scooter (while we walked) to the downtown area of shops and restaurants. We loved the quiet side street and the bit of water view from the property. We will definitely stay here again!

From the very start Caitlin was amazing at communication, especially with our late arrival, then throughout our stay checking in to see if we needed fresh towels or anything else. The minute we entered the door it had such a welcoming feeling with a bottle of wine, snacks and plenty of coffee for the next day. The cottage is adorable with all the comforts of home.

The cottage is located in a lovely quiet garden with partial water views and 2-mins walk to the river. All the downtown restaurants are reached by a quick 10-min walk through the historic Old Mystic neighborhood. The cottage is comfortable and had all the accessories needed for a comfortable shower stay. Our host was very responsive when we had questions. We’ll definitely keep it on our list for a short-break away!

Hemingway Cottage was perfect for our return trip to Connecticut for a family wedding! The location is excellent! We walked into downtown Mystic for meals. This property is fantastic. Located in a charming neighborhood … it was a simple walk to town / shopping / restaurants. Caitlin is a thoughtful host who was easy to book with. She had great communication and she made us feel welcome without ever being intrusive. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Her decorating taste is just perfect. This a great rental because you have your own space and also a yard area. Even though you are on their property you really don’t ever feel like you are in this private spot. Extremely clean and well kept. It looks exactly like the photos … but even sweeter in person. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed at Caitlin and Chris’s beautiful, immaculate and cozy apartment above their garage for our anniversary getaway. We were able to walk to town along the Mystic River in this quaint historic neighborhood, ate at great restaurants, and enjoyed the peacefulness of staying in a quiet residential neighborhood. Caitlin and Chris were perfect hosts, friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it.

We truly enjoyed our eight day stay. Property is as advertised plus the owners could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Location made for wonderful short walks into town and easy drives into nearby areas. Loved it!!
