Cozy Cabin tucked away in the Smoky Mountains, tons of activities for families to participate in. We chose to relax in the hot tub and on the deck. Had we we stayed longer there is tons to do. Would visit again.

We loved the property and the location was perfect! We could drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park without going through Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, which was key during a busy spring break week. On the other hand, the house is close to town so getting groceries or going out for dinner was easy.
House was beautiful and we loved the fireplace, hot tub, and fire pit. We also brought our two dogs, and they had a wonderful vacation as well! We would definitely stay again!

I enjoyed my stay, the cabin was very clean and relaxing. I would definitely rent this cabin again. It was very private, but close to everything.

Loved our stay at Wild and Free! Fireplace was perfect and we loved the Christmas decorations. Cabin was perfect size for our family. Can’t wait to stay here again!

everything was great except the crowds in town.

We were really impressed with this cabin and we really enjoyed our stay. The main floor had a spacious living room, open kitchen, and gas fireplace (for winter months). There was also a den area downstairs and a game room upstairs. We ended up only having 4 people so it was enormous but this could easily sleep 10 comfortably and the house was spacious enough to sleep 16 as advertised with spare mattresses and couches. It was about 15/20 minutes to get to pigeon forge depending on traffic. We would really like to book here again next year. The only critique I have is the parking situation is a little cumbersome. There is no room to turn around in front of the cabin. You have to back down into the drive otherwise pulling out of the driveway in reverse is pretty difficult especially at night.

Our family, with our dog, enjoyed our stay. It's only 15-20 minute drive to so many places, but feels very secluded. Plenty of space to both spread out and come together as a family. Owner's are upfront about the drive, take their warnings serious. Our kids are already talking about next time.

This is a very nice cabin to stay at on vacation.

We loved every minute! It was an awesome experience with the host and the cabin!

The cabin was beautiful, nice and clean. The air Hockey was great, plenty of space for all of us. Only the upstairs air unit was working so the cabin never was cooler than 73. It stayed between 73-79. The Hot Tub was not working. After several attempts and watching videos we decided it was not working and we never got to use it. We did contact the owner. The owner did send our maintenance but they did not fix with problem.

The log house is beautiful and clean. We used the hot tub every night. Our hosts promptly addressed a couple issues we had. We would love to go back.

This is a terrific property affording a great sense of privacy. It's unlike many of the other vacation rental properties in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area which are built nearly on top of one another. We were pleasantly surprised to find it nearly surrounded by woods. Sitting in the hot tub or gathered around the campfire, we felt alone in the forest. But at the same time, it was only a 20 minute drive from the Pigeon Forge area.
The interior is divided into 3 levels: 2 bedrooms on the lower level; 1 bedroom (master) on the main level; and 1 bedroom on the upper level. This gave everyone plenty of space and privacy. The interior is beautifully decorated. The upper level has an air hockey table, a foosball table, and a beautiful and unique table with a chess board integrated into its surface. On the exterior deck there is a hot tub which we especially enjoyed using after a long hike up and down Mount LeConte. Outside there is a fire pit surrounded by six chairs which we used nearly every night.
The owners were very pleasant and immediately responded to any inquiries we had.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cabin just wished we could have stayed longer! Very clean and no issues at all! Perfect for groups and families. Spaces allow guests to have their personal spaces but the open main floor plan is great for being together.😊

Excellent Cabin stay. Neat and clean. Kitchen and Bathrooma are fully loaded with all the required things. Checkin and checkout process is smooth and timely.

Cabin was in great shape and very clean and conveniently located close to town but far enough out that it was a quiet and peaceful stay.

The cabin was immaculate upon check-in. The 3 floors with full bathrooms and sleeping quarters were perfect for our 2 families. We were traveling with our 2 girls and friends that have 1 teen girl. The 3 teen girls had the downstairs, my husband and I had the main floor and the other couple had the upstairs. This gave us all privacy. The entire cabin is roomy and has a feel of being at home. All the pictures of the interior of the cabin represent the rooms, etc. as they truly are found upon check-in. The only issue we had was parking. For us, it was a tight fit for 2 SUVs (one a Tahoe and then another SUV). Each evening, I turned my Tahoe around to face going to the road and our friend's SUV was smaller so much easier for them to back out. Of course, other people may be better at backing out than I am. Other than the parking, our two families thoroughly enjoyed our stay together at this cabin! IT WAS A VERY WELL-KEPT CABIN AND EXTREMELY NICE!

This place was perfect for a get a way with our adult kids. It was convenient to the park trails and downtown Gatlinburg.

This rental has been one of the worst places i've ever stayed. We discovered bedbugs, alive, dead, moving and in larvae stage on the 3rd morning when my daughter awoke hideously bitten. The owners, from the start, were not only difficult to reach, slow to respond but absolutely uncooperative. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. I demanded a full refund which they refused to do claiming, and i quote, "bedbugs were out of our control". Their callousness and indifference to their guests and refusal to accept responsibility for the problem resulted in a completely ruined family vacation. We lost an entire day of precious vacation time in a public laundromat trying to remediate any bugs we may have taken from the cabin, in the process damaging several items. The owners also refuse to reimburse us for these items as well as other out-of-pocket costs including prescription medication for my daughter. If i could give a rating lower than 1, i would, as 1 is being overly generous.

Amazing Time!
Our family had an amazing time at this cabin! Check-in was so easy and the cabin was very clean when we arrived. Communication was awesome as well. Our favorite time at the cabin was using the fire pit and making s’mores! This is a great cabin if you are looking for one close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg!

Expectations exceeded
We planned a last second family (me, my wife, 8 month old son, and 6 year old Aussie doodle) trip to gatlinburg/pigeon forge due to hurricane ida and the wild and free cabin was a perfect fit for us! The location is perfect and the house is updated enough for convenience all the while retaining plenty of amenities and “mountain cabin” charm. Would definitely stay again without question!

Experience was going along beautifully until three days prior to the end of our stay. A swarm of several hundred “what appeared to be honey bees” where swarming outside of the property. Several bees (20 plus) were getting into the cabin through the upstairs bedroom or bathroom. All windows were closed. I contacted the owner, they said they were unable to find a pest control company to come out that evening. The following day the bees were swarming outside the cabin and several bees had entered into the home again.. all windows and doors were closed.. i notified the owner, The owner did say, a best control company would be out that day to assess the situation. The owner assumed they were carpenter bees and told us not to worry. The bees looked like honey bees. There was no pest control that came out that day either..We had a 5 month old baby, a person allergic to bees within the home and several other kids/family members and two dogs. This was shared with the owner (the owner stopped respond to my messages/concerns at this point).. This situation with the bees led us to not be able to use the upstairs bedroom or bathroom for the last two nights of our stay.. The wifi was poor, continued to go in and out, the last day of the trip the wifi was not working at all. We also found a scorpion in the home.. I had asked for a refund of one night since we were unable to use a bedroom and bathroom for the last two nights The owner stopped responding to my messages 24 hours prior to the end of our stay. I would not book again.. we understand there are things outside of the owners control. The lack of communication and concern about our situation is why i have rated so low..
