Fabulous period property in an exceptional location in the heart of Holt. Imaginatively furnished.
The stairs need to be negotiated carefully! Plenty of handrails to hang onto but keep the lights on.

Location was amazing and the ladies in the shop nearby (one of whom owns the property) we’re so helpful and friendly. Interesting house and great facilities for 6 people (I know it sleeps 8 but we were 6). We used side door as main door not great for children straight on to the road.
For us it provided everything we needed.

We were not aware that the stairs were quite so steep.

Ideal location

Beautiful house with colourful quirky decor in a convenient location for visiting north Norfolk. Holt itself is a pretty place too. Plenty of room in the housevfor 7 of us. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. It was very hot during our stay and we could sit outside in the lane once the shops were shut so that was a bonus.
We liked everything but a few instructions would have been useful. We didn’t discover the switch to turn the hot water on in the top bathroom until our last day and weren’t sure what to do with the recycling and rubbish.

Quirky property with bags of character in a perfect location.
Upstairs single beds a little uncomfortable. Showers need upgrading. No washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets supplied.
4.5 / 5.0
Superb location as it was in the centre of town with great pubs, restaurants and shops all less than a 5 minute walk. Quirky rooms following different themes.
There wasn’t information about recycling of rubbish. Although the description of the property said there was some, there was no washing up liquid and only a single dishwasher tablet. A small pack up of unopened kitchen essentials would have been nice. Minor points but easy to rectify.

great location, beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean.
The key system was the only thing we did not like about the property. The entry instructions were unclear as the key is actually for a side door through a locked gate which took a number of phone calls to clarify.
It would also be really helpful to have more than one set of keys, especially as the house sleeps 8, as in the evening when the gate is low led keys cannot he returned to the lockbox at the front for other members of your party to use because you cannot then get back through the locked gate between the street and the entry door.

n/a in terms of breakfast, but we liked the house very much. I was very clean, felt very new (in terms of furnishings and decor) but we felt completely at home there instantly.
it's an exceptional place to stay

Location was excellant, right in the heart of Holt.
Having to pay £7 per day to park each of the 2 cars, this should be part of the price of renting the house.

Very cosy and so many nice cafés, pubs, restaurants close by

The location of the property was wonderful. As soon as we walked in we felt at home. There was plenty of equipment in the kitchen. The dining room was big enough for us all to eat comfortably. The Woodburner certainly kicked some heat out….suited the younger ladies in our group!!
There was a slight leak from one of the toilets, but it wasn’t the end of the world, and I’m sure easily fixed. it definitely didn’t put us off as we booked while we were there for next year.

Attractive ,charming and comfortable. Lovely and warm on arrival which was very much appreciated on a chilly November evening .

The Old Paul Pry is in an absolutely superb location in the middle of Holt. It’s full of old character and charm, very pleasant stay indeed.
Our only complaint, is due to its lovely location is perhaps some more privacy in the windows, quiet offer we’d have people stop and stare into the windows whilst we were sat in the living room and dining room. It’s small matter and won’t effect your stay I promise.

Location was very central, beds really comfy. Old property with exceptional old features.
The stairs were a little difficult for the older person. We could not open the front door.

Holt is a great town to visit and this property is right in the centre. The property has everything you need.

The house is in a fantastic location right in the centre of Holt. The house is set over 3 floors. We were 2 families of 4. So 2 twin bedrooms on the top floor for the children and 2 double bedrooms on the 2bd floor for adults. Both double rooms had en suites and there was a shared bathroom on the top floor and a toilet on the ground floor. Dining area which seated 8 of us comfortably around the table, decent sized lounge for us all.
The stairs are very steep. Our children were a little bigger so able to manage them but for small children I wouldn’t recommend. There is no garden.

Liked having a whole property to ourselves due to travelling with children. We loved the location - a great base for travelling. Plenty of beds and space in the bedrooms too. Really comfy beds.
Really pleased to see plenty of dishwasher tablets, washing up fluid and toilet roll available for us to use. It was also great to use the space in the yard in the evening once the shops had closed.
Living room seating space was plenty for us as we only had 4 adults but for anymore adults than that, may have been problematic.
The postcode doesn’t take you to the house, it look is to another village 10 mins outside of Holt. Therefore we had to use the house name in Google Maps instead.

Combination of 18th c. charm and modern convenience
Only one socket behind the toaster/kettle. Sharp screw points projecting into the hallway by the front door

The central location was excellent, and not too noisy despite the house being on a main street. We loved the character of the house, and it was extremely clean and well presented. There was a very pretty garden attached to the tearoom next door which we could have use of in the evening.
The front door lock was very difficult to open and so we mostly had to use the side door. One of the ensuite toilets was broken and, although a plumber came to look at this on the first day of our visit, he was unable to repair it and so it was unusable for the full 4 days of the visit.

This house worked perfectly for us - a big family holiday.
The property had everything we needed as well as giving us enough space to not be tripping over each other whilst away (sometimes you need some time alone when on holiday with the whole family!).
The kitchen had a huge amount of cutlery and crockery. I might suggest it is worth removing some of this to allow some space for food etc as we did a shop for the week and struggled with storage. We also found a lot of duplicates for utensils but missing bits and bobs which would have been helpful (e.g. baking trays/oven dishes).
The ensuite bedrooms and twins rooms on the top floor were spacious and clean. The beds were super comfy.
We really loved our stay and would stay again, useful information for other guests would be that the stairs are very steep - especially up to the 3rd floor. Would not be appropriate for those who struggle with mobility.
Showers were all power showers but temperature was variable going from hot to cold quite a bit.
Given central location - could be a little loud in the morning so maybe ear plugs might be a good shout.

Central location to Holt and surrounding North Norfolk countryside. Lovely courtyard with very pretty tea garden which becomes your own personal area in the evenings. This isn’t publicised enough and it’s lovely to sit there with a drink after a long day out.
No direct on site parking. Having to keep topping up the parking meter if we were in the house between 8am-6pm. Would have been nice to receive a small welcome pack ie tea, coffee, milk on arrival. Also as it’s so close to the road, window blinds or nets would give more privacy.

Great location. Lovely space for a family. Very clean and well-appointed. Having access to the courtyard in the evening was fantastic.

The key lock was initially tricky and side door lock was used throughout our stay. This was easily managed once tried.

Everything, fab location, parking right next door, the house is beautiful inside and it's got lots of charming features. The courtyard entrance to the house is beside lovely independent shops. In the evening once the courtyard is closed for the day you have a small oasis outside to enjoy a glass of wine. Would definitely recommend and would rebook.
A beautiful house is Holt which we all loved! Just be aware the stairs are steep but rails are on both sides to help you upstairs. The front door lock was tricky to open and close but nothing else to not like we loved our stay.

Central to Holt. Very clean, beautifully furnished, comfortable beds. Very much kept in character of an 18th century house but totally refurbished. Very helpful owner available on phone whenever needed

Central location. Lots of great eateries.
I liked everything.
