I prefer homestyle accommodations over hotels, i.e. kitchen, laundry etc, and the carriage house was perfect for that. I was there mainly for work but had some downtime too. Work and supermarkets were close by. And it was a short walk to coffee in the morning, and dinner spots at night, and having walkable locations is important to me. The hosts also offered to deliver donuts the first morning, and there was coffee in the cottage too. For me this place is absolutely perfect and I can't want to come back for less work and with my kids.

I absolutely love this charming little cottage. It's so thoughtfully decorated, well stocked, comfortable and homey. The owners did a beautiful job restoring it and keeping the historic charm. And they were super responsive, friendly and easy to reach while respecting my privacy (they live down the street). The location is fantastic — just a short walk to historic main street and all their restaurants, cafes and shops. The perfect place for one or two adults to stay. There are trains nearby that sometimes run at night, but not many and the hosts supply earplugs so that wasn't an issue for me. But wanted to share full disclosure about that. I would highly recommend this home for your next Round Rock visit. I'll definitely be staying there again when I come back to visit my dad and childhood home.

I just completed a two week stay at the Carriage House and loved it! The Carriage House is tucked away in the old Round Rock neighborhood providing easy access to the nearby food and businesses in Round Rock. The house itself is charming with lots of cute touches around the house. Lisa and Joe were fantastic hosts who were quick to respond and made the stay simple.
If my travels take me back to the Austin area I will definitely consider staying at the Carriage House again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The carriage house is so well appointed, it's clear that a lot of thought and care went into setting it up. We had everything we needed and were very comfortable. The hospitality that Lisa & Joe showed us was top notch. I can't say enough positive things about how great the communication was and the amazing hospitality. Waking up to fresh donuts, fruit, and flowers on the porch was a real treat! We loved the location and would absolutely stay there again.

Very quaint accommodations, very well taken care of property, and home is of the era it was built.
The host brought donuts from the local donut shop which is known to be top notch.
Every accommodation was above par inside the house.
The instructions upon leaving were very simple, and the host took care of everything at the end made the exit, smooth and an enjoyable stay. I would recommend it for a couples enjoying an anniversary, or maybe simply traveling through Round Rock, Texas.

What a wonderful property. I was so happy to spend 6 days/ nights here while in Round Rock to watch my son’s team play in a lacrosse tournament. The carriage house was so enchanting and homey and Lisa and Joe are wonderful hosts. The place was clean and homey and offered everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfy, kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and so many lovely touches with the decor. I arrived late at night and the property was well lit with porch lights, making me feel safe and welcomed. Inside was a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut seasonal flowers and, as the reviews stated, I had the most delicious round rock donuts waiting on my porch at 7am. Lisa and Joe were available for even the littlest of things to ensure that everything was perfect and that I was happy with my stay. The location is so convenient to everything yet tucked away in a cute neighborhood. I will definitely stay here again if I’m ever in Round Rock and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a cozy getaway.

This place has a very nice front porch area and is decorated throughout with historical and vintage items. I like that kind of stuff so this should have been my kind of place, but things did not get off to a great start. The owner gave me the wrong code to get in and was unavailable when I tried to contact her. It was 1,000 degrees outside, so my kids and I had to go wait in a restaurant. I called Vrbo customer service, but it turns out that this is not a thing. The hold time was 40+ min and my phone died. When I returned to the property, the owner apologized and said she was swimming laps when we arrived. I understand things come up, but could this not wait until after we checked in? I was offered a refund for one night due to the rough check in which seemed fair, but then the owner also offered to overlook the fact that there were 4 guests when my booking was for 3. She saw my kids’ dad with us and just assumed, even though he lives in Austin and has his own place. Aside from that, carriage house felt tiny. The sofa bed was difficult to convert back and forth, but we had to do it for the walking space. There was also an ant problem in the kitchen. I waited several weeks to write this to see if I would remember this place more kindly, but I’m still a little disappointed and irritated when I think about it.

Carriage house
My family and I absolutely enjoyed our stay. Lisa and Joe were such gracious hosts, even left us world famous Round Rock donuts sitting on the porch swing one morning. Our daughter also loved the chalk and bubbles. I personally enjoyed the personal touch, the property(s) are filled with history, antiques and art. Lisa was nice enough to tour their properties and showcase their individual personalities. The location was perfect, walking distance to downtown Round Rock. We look forward to heading back soon, maybe in August.
Thank you Lisa and Joe, your hospitality was beyond exceptional, my family and I are greatly appreciative!

A complete gem of a property in Round Rock!
This was the perfect place for a long awaited reunion with my partner. Beautifully appointed, cozy with a real feeling of home and many special features. Much thought and love has been spent by the hosts to make this a true gem to rent. Walking distance to the lovely downtown area, in a safe, quiet, historic neighborhood. The hosts live opposite and go out of their way to make sure you stay is the best it can be. Very comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and a lovely patio with a pergola and porch swing to enjoy the very pretty garden area, which includes a lovely water feature. Monogrammed robes, plenty of towels, bedding, cushions for your comfort. The fresh famous donuts left on the porch swing for us the first morning were the icing on the cake. It has great water pressure for a shower, heat and air that’s easy to control and ceiling fans, also good WiFi. Parking is off street at the front of the property, enough for 2 cars easily. Not long after leaving we were wishing we could just move in permanently! I doubt you’ll find better anywhere in this area for a couple, especially if you want a special romantic retreat to spend time together. The hosts took the time to introduce themselves while we were there and could not have been nicer to deal with, they genuinely wanted us to have a great stay that was obvious. If I’m any doubt, just book it, you will not regret this choice!

Perfect getaway!
The carriage house was perfect and Lisa was nice enough to check in with us before we arrived and before we left to make sure we didn't need anything. She even delivered some of Round Rocks famous donuts the first day we were there. (Hint if you want to visit the shop walk up the car line is insane). The house was small but worked for my husband, daughter and I. The front porch was great and we spent a fair amount of time enjoying the weather. The neighborhood is quite and close to downtown, the neighbors and everyone we met was friendly. The house itself had everything needed, extra blankets, soap , dishes etc. I just loved the way it was decorated as well. I highly suggest renting this property if we ever go back we will for sure.
