About this house rental
We'd like to welcome you to our private, two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, two story cottage at the end of a dead end street in the quaint town of Sorrento. We invite you to relax and enjoy our comfortable home that offers everything you need for a Maine getaway. Each spacious bedroom offers a queen size bed and large closet. A washer and dryer are provided. The small coastal fishing village of Sorrento boasts one of the most picturesque coastal harbors in the state with stunning winter views. Several freshwater lakes and ponds offer opportunities for ice fishing. Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor is located just 40 minutes away and the Schoodic Peninsula - Acadia National Park, in Winter Harbor is just 20 minutes away from this centrally located home. Much of the park, at both locations, remain open during the winter for those hardy folks who wish to experience them when less crowded. A short drive to Ellsworth will offer plenty of local shopping, grocery stores and an L. L. Bean Outlet. We are finishing up a four season porch that offers a comfortable area to read or lounge in the sunshine.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cozy cottage. Michelle and Mike thought of everything to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible. They were also very quick to respond if we had questions. We loved our stay!!

Loved coming back after a long day of hiking in Acadia to this warm cozy home. Michelle was a wonderful hostess keeping in touch with us and providing us with comfortable beds, pillows, as well as a well stocked kitchen with needed utensils for cooking. Would return again!

We loved our stay! It was close enough to the Bar Harbor/Acadia excitement to see everything but wonderfully relaxing to return to a quiet, comfy house at the end of the day. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive. Loved seeing the starfish at low tide at the tidal falls preserve just 10 min from the house. Would definitely recommend.

Nice house on beautiful private lot. Location close to everything you could need, but in a quiet area. House was very clean and in terrific condition. Nice size rooms, everything even better than the pictures suggest! Great house to stay in.

We enjoyed our time at the property. Peaceful to return to in the evenings after days adventuring in Acadia, Bar Harbor, and on the Schoodic Peninsula. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. We also enjoyed use of the grill on our nights eating in. Would recommend to friends.

This place provided everything we needed and then some. The enclosed three-season room that was not pictured was a great bonus. They also provided fresh flowers and a bottle of wine complimentary. I contacted them a few times about some questions via test and they were always very quick to respond. I can't say enough great things! We would definitely stay again.

The cottage was lovely and well stocked. We were able to enjoy ourselves completely here. We were extremely comfortable and loved the house's location. We watched bunnies eating every morning as we gazed at picturesque forests.
Would definitely stay there again.

The hosts thoughtfully appointed the cottage with many useful features and household items. It seemed they thought of everything their guests might need, but forgot to pack. There were even freshly cut flowers in a vase and a nice bottle of wine for us to enjoy on our arrival. The interior was nicely decorated and very clean. The check in/out processes were very easy. It was perfect for our needs at a reasonable cost. We highly recommend!

Place was comfy and charming. Easy to find with GPS. Great ammenities. Only problem was poor water pressure when the sprinkler was running.

A clean well stocked house in quiet country setting with all the privacy and peacefulness anyone could ask for yet close enough to tourist attractions, the best of both worlds so glad we selected this property

Michelle and Mike are fantastic hosts. They have done an amazing job putting all the special touches on this house. Even though they still have a few projects in the works, as a guest you’d never know. The sun room is awesome and the remote but close to everything location is perfect. The best Maine sky viewing ever. The best VRBO experience

Maine Trip
We did a lot of hiking in Acadia national park and explored Bar Harbor. This house is close enough to everything to not have a very far drive but far enough away to feel secluded from the busy town. October is a beautiful time to visit Maine but a lot of businesses close early getting ready to close for the season. The house was great and had everything we needed.

We had a nice 6-day stay at this property during the Memorial Day weekend. It's a little ways off from the main Acadia park area, which was ok for us. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was clean, it felt very secluded (you have to drive into path off the road as indicated by the mailbox number -- the precise location is a little further in the path than what is indicated in Google Maps); there's a picnic bench, a porch with chairs, a grill, a yard with plenty of space to throw a football (included), a sunroom with hiking sticks provided, and nice furnishings. The heater was a great help. The hosts provided flowers, wine, and water as well, which were very appreciated. The neighbors always waved at us when we drove past, which was a very welcoming sight.
Some suggestions for improvements: The first floor still lacked curtains which felt a little exposing especially at night (the bedrooms are all on the second floor). We had trouble making use of the smart TV (no channels connected?). We were able to connect our laptop to it but could not stream anything on it, which is more of an issue with the weak internet connection. This was not a problem in the first 2-3 days but by the fourth day it seemed we had reached a capacity and our access ground to a halt.
Overall, we had an amazing time and the place definitely contributed to our enjoyment of Acadia on this trip.

Wonderful stay!
My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at this property. The home itself was in great condition, and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The hosts were very responsive every time we had a question, which was greatly appreciated! We would highly recommend this property to anyone coming to the area!

I booked this house in Sorrento as a last minute decision to visit Acadia with my niece and son. None of us had ever traveled to this part of Maine before, so we were unsure of the location. It turned out to be perfect for our short day trips. We explored Acadia on Mt. Desert Island, brought our kayaks to nearby ponds, biked Acadia on the Schoodic Pennisula- all of which were a short trip away. We squeezed in shopping in Ellsworth and Winter Harbor as well. The house has been recently renovated and has all the amenities one needs, not to mention our hosts took the time for the special touches like fresh flowers upon arrival. We really enjoyed hanging out in the four season room and having the space to cook together in the kitchen. Our hosts were very welcoming, quick to respond to our inquiries and provided helpful information about places to go. We look forward to staying here again. There is still so much to explore in the area.

The home has been recently remodeled by the owners and is very beautiful and comfortable. It is very close to Sorrento which is a small fishing and summer residence village. Sorrento, Maine is similar to one of my favorite places, Sorrento, Italy in that both share beautiful views of the ocean. The home is also very close to Acadia national park, several state parks and the ferry to Isle au Haut. Blue Hill, Castine and Bar Harbor can also be great day trips. All told we had a great experience.
