About this cottage rental
Ribble Cottage is a luxury retreat adjoining Hodder Cottage that sleeps up to four guests across two bedrooms.
Inside, the warm and welcoming open plan layout is furnished with modern comforts including zone-controlled underfloor heating.
The two bedrooms – one twin and one double – are each equipped with en-suites – one with a half bath and overhead shower, and the other with a double shower. There is also a sofa bed in the living room to accommodate extra guests. A modern kitchen houses plenty of appliances, including a washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. Keen cooks can take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and the extendable dining table that comfortably seats six. A lounge area provides a place for relaxation, while the WiFi and flat screen TV fitted with Freeview, and DVD player will keep guests entertained. All the family can make themselves at home here.
Outside, Ribble overlooks Oakdean’s private gardens. Bi-folding doors open onto a peaceful patio with a view of the surrounding woodland. In summer months, the barbecue and outside dining area make this an idyllic spot for sunny afternoons and balmy evenings.
This cottage has been awarded 5* for Self Catering Accommodation by Visit England.
There’s something for everyone in the surrounding area. From horse riding on heather-clad hillsides, to wild winding climbs, and tempting trails for cyclists of all abilities - both on and off-road. Dean Clough reservoir and the beautiful nearby pine forests are practically on our doorstep. Pendle Hill, Stonyhurst, Marles Wood to Dinckley Bridge, Longridge Fell, Three Rivers, Dunsop Bridge and The Tolkien Trail are a just few of the many walks nearby.
For days out by car, The Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and the seaside are all less than an hour away.
We are perfectly situated for guests coming further afield as we’re close to Junction 31 of the M6 with very good transport links. Preston is a 30 min drive away where direct trains go to London (2 hrs), to Glasgow (2 hrs) and to Edinburgh (2 hrs 30 mins). Described as Lancashire and Yorkshire’s hub into and out of the North, Manchester and Leeds are approx 1 hr drive away and both cities have international airports.

We had a very relaxing break with my elderly parents-in-law. The bungalow was perfect for my father-in-law who has poor mobility.
We really appreciated the little extra touches - fresh flowers, tea, coffee, biscuits, milk and fresh orange juice.
Excellent quality throughout the property and we would absolutely recommend Oakdean Cottages as a base to explore the Pendle locality.

Perfect family break
This property worked brilliantly for us , taking a break with my elderly Mum. Immaculately clean and perfectly arranged for her and us! She loved the peaceful location with views of garden and trees and we had a lovely time exploring the beautiful countryside, pretty villages and excellent hostelries! Ian and Sue were brilliant hosts, nothing was too much trouble and they responded to all our extra requests for equipment etc., swiftly and with good cheer.
All in all a lovely stay and I would certainly recommend Oakdean Cottages.

Being woken up by the sounds of sheep bleating and birds singing, made this visit even more special. We had spectacular weather and was able to eat breakfast on the patio.Everything was clean and tidy and the extra little touches just made it even more wonderful. Can I mention the Mini Eggs? (Anna left some on the counter for us, as it was the Easter Weekend) Had a lovely little walk to the pub at the bottom of the road - Lord Nelson - very friendly. Also had a fantastic meal at the Bonny Inn, Salesbury. Would highly recommend this cottage, its beautiful

We spent a lovely long weekend in the cottage. The cottage had everything that we needed and the hosts were super helpful and friendly. They were more than happy to provide a travel cot, high chair and even baby toys for our 12 month old. The cottage was finished to a high standard and was very clean. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Fabulous cottage
My wife and I stayed here with friends recently.
What a fabulous cottage. Absolutely spotless and superbly equipped.
Both bedrooms en suite.
The cottage was a little bit further out than we had anticipated but having seen the cooking facilities we ate outside on the patio every night . The glorious weather helped.
Gardens beautiful. Excellent parking area.
Ian and Sue were perfect hosts making sure everything was OK and giving advice on trips.
Would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

Fantastic, Modern, Luxurious property in beautiful secluded surroundings
Very well appointed property, they thought of everything you might need. Very modern, comfortable, quite luxurious and very clean. Friendly, helpful hosts in a very secure setting in stunning secluded country location.
We were so comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at a very reasonable price for this quality of accommodation.
Our house was the smaller of two, perfect for four comfortably sharing the spacious living area. Next door is ideal for six and ultra modern.
Our hosts were extremely helpful and thoughtful and even brought age appropriate extras for the kids once they realised how old and what gender they were. So kind!
Thanks for having us, we would heartily recommend your place and hope to stay again.

Definitely would recommend and would book again!

Gorgeous property peace and quiet
First impressions didn't disappoint. The property was extremely well equipped, clean and cosy. Just what we needed for relaxing when we got back from being out on the bikes. Ian and Sue were very friendly and helpful. Having the groceries delivered by Tesco was so convenient and we would definitely do this again when we visit next time.

excellent
We have stayed at the properties 3 or 4 times now. The properties are lovely, and can not be faulted, and we have always been made to feel very welcome by the owners. The setting with views over the Forest of Bowland and Pendle Hill is very special.
The properties would suit most situations, we are a young family (two children under four) and they are ideal for us, but would also suit Couples or Friends. We intend to return to stay later in the year.

We love this cottage for so many reasons, we have rented both the Hodder and Ribble Cottage. We have very hire regards for the owners and their exceptional way to welcome guests and take are of all needs. No matter the request - both Sue and Ian are absolutely lovely and accommodating. All of the 5 stars reviews are accurate - they look after every detail. Don't doubt renting these cottages - you will not be disappointed.

Enjoyable 3 night family stay with toddler in immaculate and well appointed cottage
We looked forward to coming back to Ribble Cottage after our day trips to visit relatives in the region, a clean and comfortable apartment with everything we needed for my 14 month old son.

Truly a 5 star stay
The accommodation is tastefully decorated throughout and immaculate, fairly recently built I believe, with all mod cons, beautiful en suite bathrooms in both bedrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. Everything, and I mean everything, we needed was there, and more too, such as an espresso coffee machine with coffee provided, fresh flowers on arrival as well as milk for a cuppa, juice and chocolates. Has Wi-Fi, DVD player, hairdryer, iron.
The rooms are sound proof so you can't hear your fellow holidaymakers snoring! And even though the cottages are semi detached we didn't hear a peep from our neighbours next door due to the quality of the build.
The grounds are impeccable too with views from the lounge of trees, garden borders and a patio which would be lovely in summer.
The cottage is well located for day trips to Blackpool, Liverpool, the Forest of Boland ( good for walking), Clitheroe castle and Museum, Whalley and Slaidburn. You can also access walks direct from the cottage down to nearby reservoirs with great views over hills.
All in all, I would highly recommend this accommodation, very professionally run by the friendly owners.

We booked all the cottages for our daughter's wedding weekend .....they were perfect in every way .... So well appointed,to a very high standard ,immaculately clean and in such beautiful gardens and in a perfect position. The champagne and flowers provided for the bride made it feel so special.
The owners are such lovely people and nothing was too much for them .. They even provided a red carpet for the bride to walk to her car... We have had such a w special weekend ,made so because of the home from home feeling created by Oakdean cottages . We will definitely book again

A beautiful location, a few minutes walk from the Dean Clough Reservoir. Loads of country walks from the cottage. It was very difficult to imagine that it was only a few miles from a number of towns as there were superb views in every direction. Easy drive to explore the Forest of Bowland area. Overall a very convenient situation that was perfect for us, especially as we visited relatives in Whalley and Clitheroe areas.
We stayed in the Ribble Cottage. It was a perfectly kept unit with 2 en-suite bedrooms. One of our party was a chef and even she was happy with the kitchen and equipment (pots , pans, etc.). We had everything we needed in the cottage and, of course , there was a quaint pub just down the street . We got the odd rainy day and if we needed to stay in the cottage it was still very pleasant. Ian and Sue could not have made us more welcome, or have been more helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I hope we will be back.

You will not be disappointed when staying at this property, the location, views and layout of the cottage are perfect- the cottage is worth its 5 star rating and more- the location is quiet and can hear the horses gently neighing the in nearby field- the local town is beautiful with plenty of places to eat and drink.

Ribble Cottage provides the finest accommodation, with all the features that one would need. I had a disabled father and the ground floor accommodation suited us entirely. The location, overlooking the Ribble Valley was grand and, for our purposes the location was central for runs to, and around, the major cities of the north-west and Cumbria. The Sherringtons were cheerful and helpful hosts. I could not recommend it more highly.
