Does the idea of a "little home base" sound good to you...a small camper with heat and A/C, a small full bathroom (including shower), fridge, sink and stove top? The Family Cragster is the perfect small camper for a couple or family, ready to go wherever your next adventure awaits! Small enough to pull behind a strong V6 or V8, and easy enough to maneuver into tight spots. This comfy little camper is imbued with outdoor lovin', and has traveled everywhere from the mountains of Colorado, to the desert of Utah, to the shores of Florida, to the hilly Adirondacks and the crags of South Dakota. There is plenty of room to sleep four (or five) and pack all of your gear! What's also pretty cool is that this little thing is pretty versatile...featuring a comfortable pop-out queen size bed and optional table which can fold down to sleep an additional 2-3 people. (This is usually where we pile our shitload of gear.) The Family Cragster has a canopy which comes in quite handy when it's raining and you want to just kick back and open up a few cold ones or play a game of chess. Our family has made endless memories with our beloved camper and we want to share the love! This little RV wants to travel with you and share in YOUR adventures! (If you can, please get a sticker from your adventure location and apply it to the bumper or wheel-cover...this way our Cragster will never forget where she's been. :) ) DETAILS: The rental offers a number a number of optional packages: Grilling (Webber grill, grilling utensils, lighter fluid, charcoal) Linens (bed linens, two pillows, three bath towels) Kitchen/dining (cookware, dishes, utensils, cleaning supplies) The camper weighs 2672 lbs. empty, the reserve water-tank holds 267 lbs. of water (if needed), and extra cargo in the camper should not exceed 528 lbs. To avoid undue stress on your vehicle, it is recommended that it has a towing capacity of no less than 5000 lbs., especially if towing is to happen in mountainous areas. However, the decision as to the suitability of the vehicle's towing capacity is entirely up to the renter. Our hitch must be used as the single-axle camper has a weight-distribution system using spring bars (see photos). The spring bars are the lowest point of the hitch-system and can potentially gouge concrete in steep-angled driveways: therefore, the hitch-receiver should ideally be about 20 inches off the ground (see photo). If not at 20 inches off the ground, the hitch can be adjusted to accommodate a hitch-receiver of perhaps no less than 15 inches off the ground. Your hitch-receiver must be at least 2 inches wide; we have an adapter for hitch-receivers which are 2.5 inches wide. Finally, your tow package must have a 7-pin electrical hook-up (see photo). Please see photos to clarify hookup/hitch details ahead of time! Pick-up & drop-off times can potentially be limited and should be agreed upon well-ahead of time. Orientation can take at least an hour and a half (includes systems tutorial, paperwork, hookup instructions, and test drive).
