Great house literally on the water. Stayed with another family while we did the Whidbey Marathon races

Heron House has a phenomenal location and gorgeous views. The home and decor are super cute. The house needs a deep cleaning (stained sinks/tubs, corrosion on faucets, dirty baseboards, dirty heater vents, etc). And some maintenance work (cracks in ceiling, crumbling drywall in places, some paint chips and wall staining). Despite having the most amazing deck, there is no patio furniture or gas grill available for renters (appears the owners lock all their outdoor things up in a shed). There was no liquid hand soap in bathrooms, no Kleenex anywhere. An air freshener could go a long way here to make it smell fresh. Truly an amazing location that with a few personal touches would really shine.

You could not ask for a better location . The house is so comfortable and feels like home ! I love this place and will come back again and again.

The Heron House is well appointed inside, but the true delights are outside: the deck, the view, the wildlife, the water...! Amazing.
We had a couple of issues, a broken shower door and no propane, but these were taken care of quickly, and other than that our visit was outstanding. We'll be back very soon.

Wonderful place. Very tranquil and was a great place for us to stay for a wedding at Captain Whidbeys. So enjoyed the deck. Look forward to returning. The Clifford’s

There is much to like about the Heron House. It is right on the water, and it is a five-minute walk to restaurants. But, there was a serious deal-breaker. There is a plumbing problem - when any water runs there was a loud noise that shook the floor in the kitchen. Very, very loud. Annoying, but not terrible. Here's the terrible part. It went off several times, for a period of hours, in the middle of the night. We couldn't sleep. We were about to leave and find another place to stay when we figured out why the plumbing noise went off in the middle of the night. We discovered that the downstairs toilet leaked - and so it was constantly refilling the tank - all day and all night. Once we figured that out, we just shut off the water to the downstairs toilet. It was a bit of an inconvenience, but better than the constant racket. It gets worse: Vacasa was not very helpful. Text messages got robo-replies. They were of no help in figuring out the problem. We were told that the owner was aware that there was a problem - which means that the owner just chose to do nothing about it.
There were other minor problems, but discussing them is like complaining about the arrangement of the deck chairs on the Titanic.
Nice house. Nice location. Don't rent it again until the plumbing gets fixed. And, Vacasa, you need better customer service.

The views of the water and wildlife from every window were amazing! The kitchen was well stocked. Coupeville is an adorable little town. The home could use a good deep clean.

We came for a weekend birthday celebration and couldn’t have had a better time at Heron House! 10/10 location, adorable decor, clean, comfortable, and insane views from nearly every window in the house. The kids loved all of the board games and cozy blankets provided. Walking distance to all of the cute shops in Coupeville. We will be back for sure! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Fabulous location in Coupeville - house is roomy and well appointed. Comfortable and relaxing for our family trip - best part is the deck right out over Penn Cove. Checking my calendar for when we can return.

Very Unique
Very unique, right on the water is so fantastic. We had our daughter and her husband and 19 month old that loved it. The town was shut down on M-W in March but didn't have the crowds of summer. Great place but must be ok with stairs.

Let’s talk about this view.
We had an amazing stay at Heron House. The views were remarkable; looking out from the upper bedroom, the lower bedroom, the kitchen & the living room. We saw Harbor Seals, otters & all sorts of birds, including heron. We also loved watching the tide come in & out each day. The house itself was clean, very comfortable, & well stocked. It’s also a short walk from shops & restaurants; we highly recommend walking to Sunshine Drip for coffee & a bite.

Heron house
Location is excellent!! Private quiet surroundings. Was a bit deceiving from photos that living room and kitchen were adjacent but that did not take away from the stay. The only obstacle was based on photos that the patio furniture and fire pit table would be available for use and when we arrived they were locked in storage. Kim and team were very responsive and was very kind to come and pull out for us . A very lovely stay!

Wonderful oceanfront cottage in pristine condition
The views, the location, the welcoming and delightful decor and furnishings are wonderful! The beds are super comfy and the bedrooms, living room and kitchen have mesmerizing views! The otters and seals and sea birds and especially the Great Blue Herons are in abundance!

AHHMAZING STAY
I have never experienced a more magical location to enjoy peace and natural beauty every minute of the day as we did at the Heron House. I really didn't want to leave the master bedroom because the bed is that comfortable and the view is that incredible. We watched the Heron hunt every day and seals swim by and eat snacks right in front of the window. The kitchen is new and clean and very functional. We didn't use the other bedrooms but the queen room downstairs has a very nice view too and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twin trundles which must work nice for families. .2 miles to walk to restaurants. Deer right out front every night. Great parking space. Just a wonderful place and didn't want to leave.

Amazing view and location
The Heron House on the Cove has the perfect view, location and comfortable beds. First night we found that the BBQ propane tank was empty. The only contact info given us if we needed anything was a web address. We talked to a man in Kissimmee, FL, a woman in Portland, OR, and finally got a number to reach the local manager of the cleaning staff. We finally got the propane tank the last night we were there. Your renters really need a local contact number.

This home over the water is well laid out and roomy, with comfortable beds. The kitchen is very well equipped and the views, bird watching, and sunsets are spectacular. Vacasa, along with their local area manager, was very responsive when we encountered some minor maintenance and cleaning needs, which I am sure will be fully remedied and did not take away from our relaxing few days on Whidbey Island.
Thank you

Unique house and great spot but cleanliness is lacking
This is a really nice spot and the house is very private with a fantastic view. The cleanliness is lacking with mold etc so it would have been given more stars but lacked from the upkeep.

Great location and awesome view!
Very convenient and pretty well stocked, overal a pleasant stay!

Property failure
The property itself would have been enjoyable if it had not been for the sump pump failure which left a sewage odor in the house. We were unable to use the washing machine, dish washer, or take a shower for fear of overloading the only operating sump pump. The toilet had to be used sparingly. Also access to the property is down two steep sets of stairs which made packing items in and out very tedious. We relocated from this property the next day with the help of the Vacasa property manager, but we lost a day of our vacation moving in and out of the property.

Great stay!
We had a great stay at this house right on the water! Our daughter loved looking out at the ducks and seals as they swam by. We also were an easy walking distance into the shops in Coupeville and centered on Whidbey for exploring multiple locations. We’d definitely stay again!

Fabulous location
The house is in a perfect location, literally on the water and a very short walk to shops. The bedrooms were nice size with comfortable beds. We loved sitting out on the deck watching otter and seal lions play in the water. My only reason for not giving it five stars was cleanliness. The house needs a good spring cleaning.

Incredibly peaceful place to stay
We really enjoyed our stay! This home’s perch right on the water is so unique- we loved the views from every room. It’s so peaceful looking out and watching the birds dive, the herons hunting at the water’s edge and the seals peeking their heads up just past the deck. Magical! The home was beautifully redone- very nice furnishings. We will definitely be back.

Gorgeous & well maintained property!
The house is gorgeous, very clean, tastefully decorated, well equipped, lovely views, 5 min walk to downtown. The stairs going to the basement need anti-skid , very slippery!

Waterfront Wonderland
The privacy from this unique and comfortable Whidbey Island home, perched right out over the water, provides one-of-a-kind views of the picturesque Coupeville Wharf and the nature abundant Penn Cove. The location couldn't be more perfect for exploring the historic town by foot. Although the kitchen is well equipped for cooking, we continued our low stress weekend living by trying several of Coupeville's delicious options for take out (Currents Bistro, Front Street Grill, Little Red Hen Bakery, and the Salty Mug on the pier - all recommended). Enjoying the lovely outlook from the Heron House dining table, as well as it's unbelievable deck, provided endless entertainment with our kids watching for sea life passersby, We also enjoyed cozying up for movie nights in front of the fireplace and flat screen in the living room. The entire house feels updated, fresh, and clean with wonderful nods to your island getaway everywhere in the decor. It was an idyllic Whidbey escape that we hope to return to again and again!

Perfect for Family Bonding
Our family enjoyed our time together here, and the set up was perfect for family bonding activities: cooking, fire pit, board games, walks on the beach and walks to the charming little town nearby. The kids wanted to extend our stay!

Perfect Escape!
I booked Heron House on the Cove in Coupeville for a recent weekend getaway with four of my close girlfriends. It could not have been more perfect! Bedrooms were spaced out nicely throughout the home with great window treatments to block out the bright morning light reflecting off the water. There were plenty of chairs to enjoy time on the deck or around the campfire. Kitchen and bathroom amenities were lovely, too. (No shortage on towels or wash cloths.) We loved watching the birds and seals from the deck, as well as the local deer and fawn explore the beach, going on beach walks, and making the short walk to town. The stairs down to the unit are somewhat steep, so please be aware if accessibility is a concern. (There is a bench about halfway down the stairs to the unit if rests are needed.) We were able to carry our bags and cooler stocked with food/drink without incident. I definitely plan to come back with my husband and two kiddos - there's so much beach exploring we could do! Highly recommend Heron House on the Cove. We will be back!
