We rented the lodge and chalet for a group of 20 with adults and kids. There was plenty of room for all of us. We also rented the boat and kayaks. We spent some days enjoying the Smoky Mtns and some days at the houses enjoying the lake. The houses were clean and as-pictured. It was a wonderful vacation. The owners are friendly and responsive and easy to work with. Note that there is a third house on the large property and the owners are sometimes there.

2 of the propane tanks were empty. The blind pulls in the bunk bed room were locked so we could not lower the blinds There was a brown stain in the primary closet carpet and some critter ?squirrels were in the attic above the bunk room. The property was very park like and the family totally enjoyed our time The checkout procedure was in the manual and posted on the wall. But they don’t match

We had an awesome time at the property with a great location and plenty of options being on the lake. We had 14 family members of all ages and everyone had plenty of space plus we got to enjoy the water more with boating options and a little time to fish and relax with the fire.

This was our third year at the Douglas Lake homes. We love it. It’s become our home away from home. We really love the lake water temperature during the summer. The kids were in the water everyday swimming. We enjoy the camp fires, fishing, kayaking, boating, jet skis and the boards. The game room is awesome as well…so there is plenty of fun stuff to do for all ages.

Beautiful property! Most relaxing vacation that we have had as a family.

My family spent a fabulous week here in early July! The property, main house and chalet were all beautiful and extremely clean and there were plenty of activities for all ages. We especially enjoyed the water sports, and would recommend renting the kayaks, paddle boards and pontoon as we spent the majority of our time utilizing these. Boating and tubing behind the pontoon was a blast and surprisingly, there was minimal other boat traffic to worry about. The location on the lake in a quiet cove was nice, and being only about 45 minutes drive to the Pigeon Forge area was a bonus - we spent one day at Dollywood. Owners were easy to contact and very responsive to our questions, and their neighbor Don was super nice and helpful when we needed a couple things. All in all, we would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun, welcoming, relaxing and enjoyable lake vacation!

My family really enjoyed this property; there was both room for us to all hang out together and room to spread out if someone wanted solitude. The lake is beautiful and was relatively quiet - very little water traffic affected our pontoon rides or sitting on our beach. A couple of mornings and evenings were noisy due to construction nearby (saws, all-terrain vehicles) however, it was usually short-lived and only affected us a little. The owner was very responsive to questions. Dandridge is a nice little town, and we weren't that far from tourist attractions. I can speak for all of us when I say that the lodging was comfortable and we would stay there again. This was a dream vacation for our entire vamily and we were extremely happy in this location.

Big house & a chalet on a lake with a small beach & a fire pit. Great bedroom suite downstairs & huge room for 8-10 upstairs. Kitchen is well stocked, but could use more seating for meals. Beautiful views of the lake from the LR. Cornhole boards at pavilion were a nice extra. We also rented the pontoon boat, kayaks & paddle boards. Owners we’re nearby & very respondent. We used the flat top griddle on the deck for breakfasts. Very handy ! Fantastic game room in the garage. Plenty of parking & lawn area. Lots of privacy on about 6 acres. A good time was had by all ! This celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary with our immediate family of 23 proved to be all we hoped for and even exceeded our expectations. Everyone loved the property, the view, the mountains, the lake, the swimming, the kayaking and the fishing. Our 15 grandchildren ranging in age from 20 months to 15 years of age enjoyed spending time with their cousins and there was plenty for them to do. Our hosts were very helpful with all of our questions. We enjoyed meeting John and he was very gracious to us. We look forward to a return visit.

Everything we were hoping for!
This trip was the absolute best! We had a large group of family and friends from ages 5 to 58 and everyone enjoyed it! Spending the days floating on the lake, sitting at the beach area or on the boat and not having to leave for very much made the trip relaxing and fun! The owners were the best as well, very attentive and available to answer questions. They have also thought of so many amenities to include so you don’t have to pack much! We will be back again soon!

Perfect Place
This property is perfect. The view, the peacefulness, the boat, swimming....everything is perfect to unplug from your busy life and just have fun and relax. We had 12 in our group ranging from ages 15 to 55 and not one person complained from lack of activities. The water was warm and clear. The property mangers and owners were always easy to reach with questions and were very helpful. Definitely will stay here again!!

Ideal vacation for large families
We had our family reunion here this year (22 people). Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves and said it was the best place that we have rented so far. I have four son-in- laws who have very different personalities and they kept raving over it. The little children adored swimming nonstop and the water was so warm compared to MI lakes. All the dads and moms felt rested and revived as their little children were able to play on the playground (could see them out the kitchen window) the water was perfect every day, video room was a little change of pace and everyone was segregated enough to sleep. Great having the lodge and chalet to avoid too many of us under one roof. I posted our vacation photos on FB with tags to my family and we are all getting contacted by friends about this amazing place to vacation. The owners are lovely and easy to communicate with. There is plenty to do right there but Dandridge was also fun to go into Tinsley Bible Drug Store for milkshakes and my girls loved the travel bags at the store on the corner. We have booked for next year already so we can enjoy making memories once again! The whole family still cannot get over our week there!

Family vacation
If you are looking for someplace to hold a big family gathering, this is it. A lake (that is evidently drained in the winter), a game room, fire pit, fire place in the big house. But, keep in mind, there is about an hour drive to and from Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

I would recommend this property to others. Also would highly suggest they rent the pontoon too. Both went hand in hand with the experience. The owners thought of everything. Game room, fire pit and grill by the beach, two piers, laundry facilities at both buildings, numerous Smart TV.
