We celebrated our 27th Wedding Anniversary at the Sweet Dreams Retreat. Beautiful cozy room, beautiful flowers on the property. Missy and Geoff are great host, I made a mistake on dates to stay, but Missy was accommodating and offered us the extra night with no issues. We spent time with Missy and her family had delicious birthday cake, sat around the fire pit, watching fire works and listening to my husband play guitar. We went hiking nearby, beautiful quiet forest, and lake. If you want to relax go see Missy and Geoff at Sweet Dreams Retreat!

Missy and Geoff have created a lovely ground floor suite in their home that will work beautifully for a couple looking for a Berkshires getaway. Though compact, the suite is beautifully furnished and thoughtfully stocked in terms of supplies and cooking equipment. The space is used to maximum advantage. You're just a short drive from beautiful wooded walks or exploring Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and Lenox (a little further). The hosts live above the suite, but are both completely unobtrusive and always willing to respond to any requests. The surrounding grounds are also beautifully landscaped with nice spots to sit and read.

The Sweet Dreams Retreat is a great place! The space was warm and inviting, the hosts were kind and attentive to our requests. Communication with them was very easy. The location was easy to find and check-in was a breeze. There's a patio with a gas fireplace right outside the door to the private entrance. There's a large hot tub on-site and it was nice to take a soak at the end of the day. The walk-in shower is great for a nice relaxing shower as well. It gets nice and hot. & it stays that way for quite a while The couch and bed are very comfortable and this place has everything you need. We cannot say enough wonderful things about this awesome find and we can't wait to come back soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Attention to detail and comfort everywhere you look, fully stocked with everything you could need and more. Missy and Geoff have really thought of everything. Our stay was wonderful. The apartment suite was exactly as described. Missy and Geoff made everything pleasant and thoughtful with excellent communication. We enjoyed the hot tub immensely. We highly recommend to anyone interested in a carefree, relaxing and comfortable time. We hiked Steven’s Glen and enjoyed wonderful dinners at cafe Triskele and the Old Inn on the Green.

Missy and Geoff have a lovely, cozy space that affords privacy, peace, and quiet hidden away in the berkshires. Missy even went out of her way to bring us a Christmas bottle of wine. You are staying in the lower level apartment of their home but never once did we feel that our privacy was compromised. It was truly a wonderful experience.

My husband and I both absolutely loved Sweet Dreams! We came for a long weekend to celebrate our Anniversary and I couldn't have found a better place to stay. Directions and check in were perfect. Missy was awesome to communicate with right from booking. The place is immaculate and set up and decorated beautifully. We had everything we needed. We didn't do any cooking other than coffee and toast but easily could have with everything provided. The bed was super comfortable and plenty of room for our clothes and suitcases. Love that there was a washer and dryer which came in handy for our wet bathing suits after enjoying the awesome hot tub on the deck. We had never been (or even heard of!) Sandisfield and what a wonderful area it is! We absolutely loved the winding country roads lined with fields, orchards, farms and the occasional gorgeous home! We explored Tolland State Park on our bikes, hiked Clam River Trail, had a wonderful dinner at The New Boston Inn (learned about the resident "ghost!"), ate at 51 Park in Lee (yum!), and explored quaint Stockbridge. Another highlight was getting to see John Legend at Tanglewood (only a 40 minute drive)! Because this was a last minute decision we weren't prepared but Missy kindly lent us lawn chairs. She also shared delicious vegetables from her amazing garden! Missy and Geoff were the perfect hosts. They were right there to answer any questions but definitely gave us our privacy. We can't wait to go back!

We’ve enjoyed many VRBO rentals over the years but Missy and Geoff’s Sweet Dreams Retreat ranks among the best. As many have already said, here you will find comfort, serenity and relaxation in a beautifully decorated, pristinely clean little apartment. We like to cook when we travel. The small kitchen was very well equipped with stovetop, oven, refrigerator, microwave, drip coffeemaker, Kuerig and toaster. Big fluffy towels, quality toiletries, plenty of bedroom storage and a real perk, a washer and dryer, added all the comforts and efficiencies of home. Missy and Geoff are present (they live in the house above the suite) and responsive to any question you might have. Staying here is a real treat when visiting the Berkshires. We look forward to another visit.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Sweet Dreams Retreat was immaculate and the perfect size and location for a couple looking to get away. Missy and Geoff were responsive and accessible hosts. This was truly the perfect weekend getaway. Melissa and Geoff were lovely. The space was beautiful, well appointed, clean and comfortable. The grounds are absolutely stunning. We had everything we needed for a quiet relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Boston. I highly recommend this space for anyone who needs an oasis to unplug. The town is also very cute. The hosts Missy and Geoff were great and very responsive if we needed anything. They did a nice job in furnishing the place where we stayed which was part of the basement in their home. The thing about staying there in the Berkshires was it is far away from all the major towns, nowhere to walk for exercise as road has no shoulder and is curvy with dips. The house is in an outlying area of the Berkshires and I had trouble with my phone reception which was very annoying. Great hosts, furnished nicely but not good for our needs on a two week getaway. Fine for a long weekend.

Adored the whole house, and an amazing experience
this is our first time vrbo trip and it was an amazing experience we loved every minute of it. the house was adorable. it had everything we needed. we used the jacuzzi, pool, fire pit, and most of all was the barbecue. The barbecue was my dads favorite spot. This was a much needed trip to get away from all the commotion of boston and a great way to celebrate my mom’s birthday. So glad that I could sit down, turn on the tv and have the office waiting for me after a long day of family activities. Melissa and Geoff were great, we wouldn’t have had this experience if it weren’t for them.

Everything we needed, everything we wanted, and more!
We had a great stay and would highly recommend Sweet Dreams Retreat. Melissa & Geoff were gracious hosts. Excellent communication with fast response to all inquiries. They reside on site and yet we always felt we had total privacy. This property fully met our needs and wants for a week-long vacation stay. Kitchen sufficient to prepare basic meals. Very comfortable bed/bedroom. Spacious living area. Air conditioning works great. Fast and reliable WiFi. Laundry machines that are quiet and efficient. A lovely patio area just outside the entrance. The pool and hot tub were an absolute delight, especially after returning from a bike ride in the summer heat. Even a shed to store our bikes and protect them from the elements. The place has a very rural, woodsy feel, and yet somehow there were no bugs! And believe me, my wife is a mosquito magnet, yet we were able to hang outside by the pool for hours without the slightest concern for biting insects. Overall, we fully enjoyed our stay, took advantage of almost all of the many amenities of the property, and ended our week totally unwound and ready to return to real life.

We absolutely loved this gem of a find! Highly recommend. Super clean. Gracious hosts. It is a shared property but the hosts are awesome! Even brought us a plate on thanksgiving! That being said, the kitchen is so great we made our own too! Super pet friendly. All around great experience. :)

Another Great Time
We made our second visit to this wonderful place this past weekend. Lots of great improvements since our first visit including an oven, dishwasher and blinds on the windows. These have made an already comfortable place that much better!
The only drawback to the weekend was the inconsistent weather, but we made good use of the rainy times by visiting a brewery, distillery and winery all nearby in the town of Sheffield. On this visit, we also thought ahead to make dinner reservations at the Old Inn on the Green. Definitely worth the trip for a meal!

Last minute get away
This was a last minute get away and we were lucky enough to get this property. It is not in the center of town but it doesn’t seem like it takes forever to get where you’d like. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the fireplace, and nicely furnished space. My only knock is the small sink for the kitchenette because it splashes easily onto the mirror backsplash and countertop, but I don’t like my sink at home either… It was a very enjoyable stay and if we look to be in the area again we would enjoy another stay here.

If you plan on visiting the beautiful Berkshires we would encourage you to stay at this hidden gem Sweet Dreams Retreat in the quintessential town of Sandisfield which is a short jaunt to many incredible sights to trek/hike/bike through and historical enclaves & towns to browse. Experience the incredible local gastros, breweries, distilleries and wineries. Shopping in the eclectic stores of Great Barrington and many other villages. We challenged our Frenchie Murphy on the steep decline to Bash Bish Falls to be only rewarded of its beauty and surroundings. The beauty of this trip was our incredible hosts Melissa & Geoff who have created this beautiful cozy compact retreat filled with craftmanship and artifacts, you will not be disappointed, a honey spot. We ordered takeout from Koi (Incredible) and savored Melissa & Geoff's company along with indulgence of Champagne and a local 4 legged pal Marshmallow whom Murphy loved dearly by the firepit. Thank You Melissa & Geoff you made a memorable mark on our 25th Anniversary.......Much Love to you both and will visit soon again. Thank You

Clean and Tranquil
We totally love getting away to this quiet little place in the Catskill Mountains! Thanks to our Host Melissa, her VRBO is so clean and offers so much more than expected. Little snacks, many amenities and she was so pleasant to meet. We've returned here more than once, and will continue to do so. It's located on a lovely street and we like to walk uphill to the apple orchard, which has pick your own apples and berries. Thanks for being a super host.

Sweet Dreams Retreat lives up to its name!
We spent a wonderful week here! The property was squeaky clean and pin-drop quiet, and the king-sized bed was marvelously comfortable. I really appreciated the air conditioners, which kept the rooms cool and dry, unlike those in other country properties in which we've stayed that are often dank and sticky. Melissa and Geoff were kind yet discreet hosts, and even offered us a smoked-chicken dinner at the end of our stay (which, sadly, we had to decline since we had a dinner reservation at the local Gedney Farm--highly recommended). The on-site pool and hot tub were awesome. All in all, fantastic!

Stay away unless you like rotten eggs
I spent ten days at Sweet Dreams Retreat basically to get away from the city and work on a piece was writing. Melissa and Geoff are the couple that run the apartment which is primarily an apartment they built in their basement. Very low ceilings and, because the house is made of wood, very creaky. Every time they walked around upstairs or performed any function like working around the house or playing piano, I heard it. While I was there, they had their very large family over for Sunday dinner and the noise was unbelievable. But my primary complaint is with the water system in the apartment. Whenever I turned on the water, whether it was the tap in the kitchen or the bathroom or the shower, a sulfuric smell, like rotten eggs came out. They tried on at least three occasions to correct the problem, all to no avail. I finally got so sick of the smell that I had to go out and buy bottled water which I used for all the functions I would normally use tap water, however, I couldn’t avoid having to take showers in that water. When I first got there, they informed me, to my shock, that they had both had a bout with Covid and Geoff had lost his sense of smell but Melissa’s had returned. Judging from my experience I tend to doubt it. The was one other problem with the apartment. Because of the low ceilings, I couldn’t use the oven without their multiple smoke detectors going off which were very loud. I would have to open my front door and wait for them to stop. I do not recommend Sweet Dreams Retreat and would never return.
