Maine Deck family stay
We stayed in The Maine Deck property for a week this winter with kids ages 3,5, and 7, myself and my husband and a set of grandparents. The house is beautifully done with stunning views of the ocean! The beach is a short walk! We also enjoyed the beach off of the nature preserve trail! The house had everything we needed. Request a key if you want to lock up the house, stop for plenty of groceries at Publix in Cape Coral and bring the sunscreen! We would recommend this house to others. It was great for our family! My kids especially loved the heated pool! We had A little trouble with the golf cart but they gave us and extra and although we didn’t all fit, we could take turns using it! North Captiva is truly a gem and this house was a perfect fit! We would definitely return!

Everything was just about perfect!! Except for the rain.
The property was better than anticipated. The location to the beach was a short walk away. We had 9 people in our party and the 6 person golf cart got a lot of use but was perfect for getting everyone to where we needed to be. The island is such a laid back setting it was just perfect to relax and unwind. The pool at the house was perfect and got a lot of use. We used the corn hole boards towards the end of our vacation and the downstairs table for cards etc by the pool. The first morning we were there we got up early and saw the sunrise which was awesome on the top deck. We went up there numerous times for pictures and just to take the sights of the island. The house was spacious and well decorated. The screened in porch on the second level was used a lot also in the evenings to read and also play cards plus it was a great place to sort out all the shells we gathered thru the week. But the icing on the cake is definately the two property managers Laurie and Duncan. They were AWESOME!! From helping me to find an additional charter to get some of our party to the island on the first day to just stopping by and talking/visiting with us. We celebrated my sons 21st birthday on the island but we needed a few items to make a certain frosting that we loves. I texted Laurie and asked if there was a way I could get the two items and she immediately responded and said she would bring them over in a short while. That is what I call going "WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND." But getting to know them a little bit that week, these are the types of things that are no brainers to them. We felt like we got treated like family and that is the true icing on the cake. There is no doubt we are interested in returning to the islnd in the future. Not only will we be looking at the beautiful houses but also if Laurie and Duncan are managing it as well.

This was our 6th vacation to North Captiva and Escape to Paradise was hands down the best house we have stayed at. The house is very close to the beach access. It was very spacious and bright. Everything was in excellent condition and the kitchen was very well stocked. Beautiful panoramic views from the living room, kitchen and balcony!! Great for a multi-family vacation. I highly recommend this house. We will definitely be returning! Thank you Kim for sharing your home.

4 adults, 4 kids ages 9-12. Great location for beach access. Lots of common space and sleeping space. Roof top deck is great for sunrises and sunsets. Happy hour area near the pool is great. Plenty of refrigerator space.

Beautiful property
Our group had an amazing time at Escape to Paradise. The house came equipped with everything you would need, including spices, appliances, beach towels, blankets, etc. The only thing to bring is your bathing suit and food! They provide everything! The house was very clean and communication with the property managers was great!

Escape to Paradise it is
Escape to Paradise is the perfect name for this beautiful beach home. Absolutely paradise!! Booking with Sarah was a breeze and the owner, Kim is so very kind! This home is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you need for a stress free home away from home vacation. The pool was a great bonus for the whole family and everyone loved zooming around in the open air on the golf carts. Life on the island is magical and what a great time we had with our family at Escape to Paradise.

Escape to paradise
Renting was easy . Requires planning to get to the island. Used shopper Deb for groceries and alcohol. She did an excellent job. Airline caused major problem. Flight canceled and it took 2 days for the entire party to arrive. Once on island it was excellent.

Fantastic!
I can’t say enough about this property and the property managers and owners. Just a truly awesome experience from the property to the location. We truly had one of the best family vacations we have been on and we have done many. This is for sure one of the top VRBO experiences. Steps away from the beach. Private pool area. Never did I worry about the kids outside or going around the island. So quiet. So relaxing. Some of the best sunrise, sunset, as well as moonrise and moonset experiences on the roof. Great family vacation retreat!

Exceeded our expectations
This is a beautiful, well-cared for property with WONDERFUL sunset views (sunrise too if you climb up to the crows nest). It is so close to the main beach, yet on a quiet street. We were celebrating my father's 80th birthday with 10 people including 4 teenagers and we could not have picked a more perfect place! We had clear, responsive communication with house manager Ally & Brian who picked us up. There was plenty of room for our families to be together or find our own space - the screened in porch is HUGE. All 4 bedrooms are on the same floor with 3 full baths and a handy 4th bath near the kitchen. The game closet was well-stocked, so was the kitchen with equipment and we enjoyed the margarita machine! The pool was comfortably warm & big enough for adults/teens to lounge around or little ones to play. (Older elementary kids or true swimmers would need to hit the club.) It was handy to have 2 golf carts - but they are rather slow (people passed us ALL the time). The bunk room did get a bit warm/stuffy with 4 teens -- if they were comfortable everyone else was cold. We compromised by running AC an hour or two in the evening. It would have been very nice to have a 10am check-out. However, we were able to hang out at the club until we had to be to the dock. Brian made sure our bags were ready for the later ferry. It all went so smoothly!

Excellent Vacation Home with an awesome view.
The house is exactly what we were expecting. Looks just like the pictures they posted. It is a beautiful home with a great view. The beach is just a short walk or golf cart ride away. We all enjoyed the island wished we could have stayed longer. We will be back!! The Fryer Family.

It truly was an escape to paradise!
The property was great, with enough room to spread out but not so much that you get lost. The downstairs bar, grill, and pool area were perfect and where we spent most of our evenings. We were also able to secure a boat slip nearby so we didn't have to deal with the logistics of shuttles to and from the Island or when we wanted to get out and about.

Beautiful island! Awesome house! Great property managers
Highly recommend this property! It was clean, well stocked with a functional layout. The hammocks on the screened in deck was a plus!
Shout out to Tortuga Properties! They were responsive, organized and friendly. We will only stay at homes they manage from now on.

Escape to Paradise is the best home for an amazing vacation!
Escape to Paradise is everything you see in the pictures and more! We had 8 adults and everyone was extremely comfortable. There is so much room to gather as a group or get away by yourself. All of the bedrooms have comfortable mattresses, plenty of pillows and blankets. The bedrooms are located on the first floor allowing for people to sleep in or read a book peacefully. When you enter the second floor be prepared to be in awe of the beautiful sunrises, sunsets and the gulf view itself. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook any type of meal. If you travel with a big group, we do suggest you bring plenty of water bottles as sometimes the filter cannot keep up with everyone filling up their water bottles. We didn’t mind because that is just part of island living. If you want to watch TV, there is a TV in every room of the home. There is also a library of books with some great choices. The laundry room has a full size washing machine and dryer which come in handy after a week of beach and outside fun. The pool was also delightful to cool off after coming back from a boat ride or a walk to the beach. The walk to the beach is easy, taking no more than a few minutes, or a very quick golf cart ride. We enjoyed the ping pong table, corn hole, closet of games and puzzles and the floats at the pool. The bar area downstairs is perfect for evening entertainment and enjoyed by everyone in our group. There are beach chairs and beach towels too so you do not have to worry about bringing your own. Sheldon Denny, the turtle, lives right beside the staircase leading from the bar/pool area to the first floor of the house. Barnacles is a great restaurant on the island and has so many choices for everyone’s tastebuds! Upstairs above Barnacles you can buy island merchandise, ready to bake pizzas, sunscreen, and ice cream. We ran out of time to try Mangos or use the North Captiva club amenities but saw so many others enjoying both! It is a very relaxed, very “chill’ environment, no need for any dress up clothes. We highly recommend visiting Cabbage Key by boat too, it was so much fun! We cannot wait to come back to North Captiva, it was truly the most relaxing, safe, and comfortable environment. We will most definitely be staying at Escape to Paradise when we return!

Fantastic place and experience!
Everything about the house was as advertised. A short golf cart ride to the beach and about as far a walk to where we spent every day on the beach. The house was clean, bright and well maintained. We spent every morning on the deck drinking coffee and every evening watching the sun go down with a cocktail. The pool was clean and water warm. Having a fridge downstairs by the pool was great, just wish it had an ice maker down there too, got to keep that beer on ice! :) Had the AC go out on the top floor in the afternoon. Contacted the property manager Duncan and the next morning before we went to the beach it was serviced and back running. Tortuga properties did a wonderful job. Picked us up at the dock, dropped us off at the house after a quick tour of the island, walkthrough of the house and reversed the process when we left. I can highly recommend this house and property manager. Had one issue with grocery billing but that was resolved quickly after the vacation was concluded.
Also want to send a thank you to Emmy Girl Charters for her boat ride for the four of us and our gear to and from the island. She was great and very punctual.

The house was everything as expected and more. The downstairs bar by the pool was perfect to get out of the sun. Perfect location to beach. Beach was beautiful and not crowded. Bring your fishing pole! One downside is the NCIC club membership did not have much to offer outside of kayaks, bikes are in poor non working condition and house already has a pool. We also had numerous small issues that popped up during our stay that the mgmt co should have easily handled but did not (did not provide supplies listed in the packet, did not know WiFi code or door code on arrival - said she would text it but did not, golf cart not working 1/2 the time, goofed up food order, neighbor cutting trees and branches landing in pool, etc) The owner did everything in her power to help and went above and beyond. She fixed the food order, provided the WiFi/door code and reached out to the neighbor and mgmt co. I am very thankful for her prompt responses and checking in. Just know the management co is very much on island time and you could be waiting more than 24 hours to hear back on basic questions/requests that should have already been taken care of. Overall we had a great trip, the weather was beautiful and would return. A few items that I wish I would have known/that can be improved on. - NCIC club membership - bikes are in rough shape and if they had any that were

Escape to Paradise - Just What the Doctor Ordered!
We had this vacation booked for March 2020. With COVID and the shutdowns, we had to either cancel or reschedule. We rescheduled for March, 2021. Over the past year, the property sold to a new owner, received a new name, and some further home updates. Our group was highly anticipating this vacation and nervous at the same time. It was a vacation we all needed so badly. We were hoping for the best outcome in a new place we had never been to before, North Captiva Island.
We loved this property! It was amazing! The house was fabulous! The addition of the poolside bar, refrigerator, TV, showers, two golf carts- were all a definite bonus! The pool/bar were one of our favorite spots! The kitchen is absolutely amazing! The colors, the view of the gulf, the space itself, hands down is one of the best features of the house! Loved the "crows nest" for sunrise and sunset viewing. The bedrooms were all very nice, beds comfortable and everything decorated nicely. It was a bonus to have all of the bathrooms in the house with showers. Screened in porch was very nice. The owners supplied many things. That was highly appreciated! We brought too much not realizing exactly what we needed, but now know for the future.
The house was a short walk to the beach. The island itself, the beautiful beaches and atmosphere were perfect. So peaceful and a place to rejuvenate yourself!! We would definitely stay here again! It was just what the doctor ordered!
We all drove vs flying, used Island Girl charters for our ride over/back and one of the home's property managers picked us up. We had never been before and would now know what to do better as far as groceries, what to bring, what not to bring, etc.
Lastly, what we thought would have been perfect for the house, is an additional bathroom down by the pool. Access to a pool vacuum so we could have cleaned the pool during the week. Other than that, the house was perfect.
Thank you for a wonderful escape to paradise!

Escape to Paradise - Yes, it was !
This is hands down the best property experience in my 20+ years of vacationing in Upper Captiva. Every amenity is in good repair with spacious clean inviting interior with plenty of windows and views of the ocean. We had plenty of games and puzzles, corn-hole (yes!) clean new pool, plenty of privacy with bedroom locations. The kitchen had everything we needed. Very comfortable home! Location is superb.
