About this house rental
This spacious 5BR estate was designed in 1890 by Hyman Witcover (architect of Savannah’s beautiful gold-domed City Hall) for prominent Savannah native, Simon P. Kehoe. Simon was the son of William Kehoe, beloved citizen and founder of The Kehoe Iron Works. After undergoing an expansive restoration, ‘The Simon’ offers a one-of-a-kind Savannah experience. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is one of the city’s most well-preserved examples of the Queen Anne Revival architectural style.
THE LOCATION
Located just off of Lafayette Square, The Simon is in the heart of Savannah’s historic district. You’ll find the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the Hamilton-Turner House and the Andrew Low House mere steps from the front porch. Situated right around the corner is Pinkie Masters, McDonough’s, and Hitch. Walk a few squares to the south and find Forsyth Park with nearby coffee shops and a weekly farmer’s market. Less than a half-mile away, explore the SCAD campus or enjoy a show at the Savannah Theater. Architecture buffs can stop by the Davenport House Museum or Owens-Thomas House, then visit Leopold’s Ice Cream for a sweet treat.
KITCHEN & DINING
You’ll find everything you need to prepare delicious meals in the well-appointed kitchen, complete with stainless steel appliances and high-end cookware. A convenient cocktail and coffee bar includes all the right tools for morning and evening beverages.
Gather for meals at the in-kitchen dining table, the intimate breakfast nook, at the formal dining room with seating for 10, or outside on the porch.
LIVING ROOM
Lounge in the main living area that accommodates your entire group, while unwinding listening to some tunes on the Sonos speaker. The vivid sun-filled parlor overlooks the sprawling front porch and quiet Harris Street. The architectural focal point from the interior is the original tiger oak mantle with ornate columns and intricately carved faces. Dramatic leaded windows in the entry hall cast waves of rainbow prisms into the living area on sunny afternoons.
BED & BATH
Bedrooms are open and airy with high ceilings and tall windows. There are two full baths on the first floor, and two full baths upstairs.
The first-floor primary bedroom is fitted with a plush king bed, en-suite bath with walk-in shower, and access to the very-private side porch.
A lovely staircase leads to the second floor with four guest bedrooms. The second bedroom has the king bed nestled into the beautiful bay window, which is a prime feature of the Queen Anne Revival style. The large bedroom is fitted with the original fireplace and a private dressing nook with full length mirror.
The third bedroom has a king bed, original fireplace, and a beautiful leaded glass window. The cozy fourth bedroom boasts a colorful fireplace and a queen bed.
The roomy second-floor primary has a king bed, en-suite bath, and a view of the Cathedral spire. An adjacent bonus den has a queen sleeper sofa and desk.
OUTDOOR AREA & AMENITIES
Stroll the sidewalks under the Spanish moss-draped Live Oaks until you find the right spot to linger. Many guests declare their favorite spot in Savannah is The Simon’s wraparound porch.
Reserved parking is available for three vehicles at the back of the house.
Complimentary Wi-Fi, YouTube TV, Smart flat-screen TVs in each bedroom, and a washer/dryer are provided.

We stayed at the Simon for three nights and will definitely be back. House was spacious, well appointed, and incredibly quiet. Covered porch allowed us to sit outside and enjoy our coffee while listening to the morning rain. There’s a tavern on the corner but it never got too rowdy and wasn’t an issue while we were there. One block from Lafayette Sq, Cathedral Basilica of St John the Baptist’s and Treylor Hitch (a good brunch spot). Downtown is a 10-15 minute walk depending on where you’re going. If you’re planning on site seeing get the Hop On Hop Off tickets, you will be dropped off steps from the house. This is a great house for families who want to enjoy everything Savannah has to offer.

We had an amazing stay at the Simon in Savannah, Georgia! The location was perfect—within walking distance to Forsyth Park, City Market, and an abundance of shopping and restaurants. The front porch quickly became one of our favorite spots, whether we were enjoying wine in the evening or coffee in the morning. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the spacious rooms made it easy for our family of 10 to spread out and feel at home. We especially loved gathering in the large dining room for family dinners. The TVs offered a great variety of entertainment options as well, making our evenings cozy and relaxing. Highly recommend this home for anyone visiting Savannah!

Our stay was for 10 family members to be together during a long weekend including memorial services for a family member. The home was warm and perfectly located for walking to our church, reception venue and great local coffee shops. The living room and porch, dining room and kitchen were well equipped and made sharing meals with extended family and friends easy and comfortable.

Beautiful historic home for a family of 8 to comfortably stay. House had everything we needed for the week. 2 bedrooms have en suites and 2 other bathrooms for the other 3 bedrooms to share. Washer/dryer was so handy. Beds were comfortable. Parking for 3 cars behind the home. Nice porch to have your morning coffee, the front door lock can be a bit tricky but that’s an old home for you. The house was nicely situated in the city to walk wherever you need. Only used the car once to go to Tybee Island. Overall wonderful experience and would recommend.

The Simon is a really special stay. We had our family there for a week and couldn't have had a nicer time. The house is beautiful, very well appointed, very comfortable, with charm galore. Beds were comfy, towels fresh and new, plenty of toiletries and other stuff to start your stay. We spent every morning and evening on the porch. Dedicated 2+ parking in the back of the house is a very welcome addition to a city that is a nightmare to park in. Pinkie Masters next door has cheap PBR's. Overall, A++ stay.

Awesome place for 3 couples to enjoy time together, and location was perfectly situated for short walking distances to all of the sight seeing and fabulous restaurants

We had six people staying at the Simon, which had more than enough room for all of us. The beds were comfortable, The porch in the front was gorgeous and very welcoming. The kitchen had all the appliances and cookware needed for making breakfast and so much barware and dinnerware! You could host a party there! Located in historical district very close to the Basilica and gorgeous park. We could walk to our venue location easily since we were there for a concert.
We had an issue getting into the house with our code, but I could immediately get in touch with the rental office and received a new code. Otherwise, no other problems during our stay.

This house is stunning, and very spacious and comfortable. It’s in the perfect location for exploring Savannah. They have a great porch for relaxing on a nice day. The parking spaces were a huge bonus too. We were so grateful they could take our group last minute when our other rental cancelled, and it was better than we could have imagined!

We booked the house to celebrate a birthday and could not have asked for a better experience. The house was great: perfect location, very well appointed, and a good balance of preserving the history while being updated for vacation stays. The reservation, check-in, and follow-up processes were clear, simple, and efficient. We would definitely consider staying at this location again.

This luxurious and spacious rental was the perfect place for our extended family to stay during a family wedding. It was extremely clean with many thoughtful amenities - would highly recommend. Having three parking spots is a huge plus in the Historic district.

Negatives: Rental company gave us the wrong code at check-in but this was quickly resolved. Trash bin and recycle bin were full, we called 3 times to have it emptied but to no avail. Not enough trash bags in house, not enough paper towels. Back of house backs up to an ally with a bar on corner. Sketchy people hanging out in ally, smoking pot, etc.
Positives: Beautiful period home from 1890 with modern amenities like tankless hot water heater, good internet and good streaming tv options. House is well appointed, very comfortable, lots of space for our family of 10 with three young children. Walk-able to River Street and Forsyth Park. Would rent again.

Our family loves staying at the Simon during our recent visit to Savannah. The location is a beautiful area of the city and so convenient to many historic sites, restaurants, and activities. The house had a wonderful layout for our group of 6 adults and 3 children. Everyone had their own space and bathroom. The 2 dedicated parking spots were also super helpful!

This is a lovely old house smack in the middle of the Historic District. 5 minute walk to the waterfront and surrounded by lovely city park blocks. House was in good condition and all bedrooms were pleasant. My only 'beef' is the cleaning fee was very high (and non-negotiable) for a quick stay.

Reviewer Comments:
The house was in the perfect location and it was easy to walk everywhere. It is right next to a bar and a restaurant, but it was never too noisy. The burrito place right next door was terrible - no one could eat the food cause it was so salty, and I love salt! There was a great restaurant named j. Christopher’s right across the street and a cute diner namer Clary’s down the road. The house was clean, but the bottom of my daughter’s feet were black after she ran around barefoot for an hour. We loved the games that were there. It’s an old house so we weren’t surprised at some little things like the door knobs not turning well or it taking 5 min to get hot water in the shower - they even warn you with signs in the bathroom. Honestly, it just added to the charm of the place. Overall we were very happy and we were sad to leave!

Reviewer Comments:
The house is beautiful and the location can't be beat. But, there are a couple issues that made it less than perfect. First of all, even though there is a note on the front door and instructions in the book, we could not enter through the front door. We could not get the brass lock to disengage. This should really be fixed as it made our stay inconvenient.Secondly, the bathroom layout isn't the best, which is difficult to understand with the description. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms and a pull out sofa, but only 2 bathrooms. Yet, there are 2 full bathrooms downstairs with only one bedroom.Third, this home is difficult for elderly people to stay in. The only ways in the home are up stairs. Also, the bed is too high in the downstairs bedroom and it is so large, there is not room to get around the bed with a walker or wheelchair. Even though I thought it would work with the description on the website, my elderly mother had to check into a hotel instead. Other than those issues, it was a great place to stay.

Reviewer Comments:
We came for our daughters wedding. The home was beautiful and clean but there was an odor of septic waste in the back foyer that was hard to mask. It lingered throughout our entire stay. The location was outstanding and close to everything , linens were clean and fresh, and the house stocked well for our stay. Very lovely home with attention to detail. You could tell the owners care for their home and want their guests to have a very nice experience. WIFI was hit or miss. On a another note..I called the management company on three occasions - the days before and the day of arrival (speaking with Vincent and then Kaitlin) to see if we could get an early check in and was told that I would get a notification on my app if housekeeping finished up early ( Kaitlin expressed this to me on the day of check in as we were riding in circles to kill time in the rain for a couple of hours). We finally drove on to the property about 30 minutes early and called management again and was helped by a very nice lady who said she would assist us checking in and that the property had not been used before our arrival and was ready to go. Why couldn't this have been looked up before? Just a quick glance at the computer would have gone a long way. This was my second unprofessional interaction with Kaitlin..the first being when I finally gave up getting her assistance with booking a property (she kept sending me properties outside of my specifications), she disagreed, and I ended up researching/finding the properties for our two very large groups myself instead. Maybe some customer service retraining?

The Simon house is in a great location that allows you to walk to all of the area's attractions. It was great to be able to park the car in our designated parking space and not have to worry about traffic or parking during our entire stay. This home is an exquisite grand dame. It is elegant, but at the same time spacious and comfortable. If you want a true historic Savannah experience with modern amenities, I highly recommend this gorgeous home.

We loved this house. Plenty of space for everyone, very well stocked with essentials, very clean, perfect location! I especially enjoyed having morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the porch. The only criticism I have is that there are no full length mirrors which was annoying when getting ready, but it certainly wouldn't stop us from booking this property again! We really did love our time there.

We enjoyed this property! It was in a good location downtown, very well equipped, and exactly like it was described. The parking in back was really nice, having stayed downtown before without dedicated free parking in the past. The wrap around porch is just the quintessential Savannah vibe, and we loved it! Check in and communication was smooth, we overall were impressed with this property and would stay here again.
