Even on a rainy day it's so cool to watch a movie and the storm! Have I mentioned that this lakefront property now features air conditioning? Despite that, I still adore the incredible breeze from the Lake.

Wood fired cedar barrel sauna with Panoramic dome window overlooking the ravine. This is truly special what a treat.
And outside shower has rainfall showerhead and separate light
Stone pathways lead to outside living area overlooking the lake. Here you have your choice of Propane BBQ or a charcoal BBQ to create your family favorites. Dine together at the teak dining table overlooking the lake. OR chat together on the comfy outdoor living area complete with day bed. OR take a nap in the hammock with ravine and lake views.
Upstairs deck is the perfect place for a coffee and bird watch. My favorite spot in winter. You truly are a part of Nature!
Spend the day at the beach - approx. 45 stairs lead down to the beach where we've provided a Lake Mat, kayaks or paddleboard or relax in the beach chairs provided.
NOTE: The lakebed can be sandy or stoney depending on what the lake gives you that day. But it sure is fun to try to find the ever changing sandbars. Generally you will find sand 3ft out. It's fun to go stone collecting - Lake Huron is a geologists paradise! Just bring some water shoes. The nice thing is, it's not weedy or slimy at all.
Linens are available for $20/per person. This includes Tea Towels, Dishcloths, Sheets & Pillowcases, Bathroom towels, Hand towels and Face cloths. Does not include Beach Towels.
All Guests are required to sign a separate cottage rental agreement and provide government issued photo id. Including names and ages of all guests who will occupy the property. Primary renter must be over 25 photo id is required. Only those occupants listed on the Rental Agreement, are allowed to occupy the property. Parties and large gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. Max occupancy at all times is 5 violation will result in removal without refund. This property is equipped with a monitoring device (including noise, temp & wifi connections & camera's outside at the entrance)

We loved our little stay at “The Hideaway”. The cottage was private, clean, nicely decorated and had all the amenities of home. The view from the upper level was phenomenal. We can’t wait to book again, hopefully in the summer months.

Yet another wonderful stay at the beautiful Hideaway cottage! Every year, I can’t wait to return to this heavenly home for my week of tranquility and rejuvenation. Everything is so perfect at Hideaway….. the therapeutic sound of waves, the chirping of birds, the rustling of leaves, the beautiful and cozy outdoor choice of furniture either upstairs on the balcony or downstairs by the patio or beach area to rest, relax, read, have conversations. Inside it is so tastefully decorated. The beds, living room sofa, dining seating are all so comfortable and of premium quality. The BBQ facility on the deck is top notch. The stairs to the beach are excellent and so easy to manage. Loved the water mattress! The cottage is so well stocked with amenities as well. We don’t miss anything. I love it here. This cottage truly makes wonderful memories happen! Thank you Jennifer for what you do for us to give us such an awesome experience each year!

I love the layout of this cottage. With 1 bedroom upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs there is enough separation for privacy. The beds are super comfortable which has not always been the case in our past rentals. You can see that the place was well thought out, with the very comfortable seating area outside of the lower level where you can bbq and relax, then there’s also the firepit area closer to the beach access.
I have been dealing with Jennifer for a few years and she is extremely professional and eager to make your stay a wonderful experience! Great property, great customer service, all in all a super stay at hideaway!

Hideaway is the perfect destination to disconnect from the outside world. Being surrounded by a forest of trees brings a stillness to the air that we had never experienced before. The cottage is beautiful inside and out! The smell of the cedar sauna greets you as you walk down the path towards the front door. The beach is quiet and private. Once on the main level, you feel like you are nestled in the trees with panoramic views of the lake beyond. Bayfield and Grand Bend are just a few minutes up the road. However, it is truly difficult to leave the tranquillity of this location. Our family hopes to be back again next year.

From the very helpful app we received before our arrival to the welcoming music and Christmas tree upon our arrival, we knew we would enjoy our stay. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable with a beautiful Lake Huron sunset view. The property is also nicely landscaped and provides access to a great beach. Jennifer is a thoughtful and very helpful host and was always quickly available to answer any questions we had. We definitely are planning on a return visit!

Jennifer, what an awesome relaxing cottage you have. We stayed here for 8 days and could not have asked for a better place to stay. The minute we walked in we felt the serenity. The owner Jennifer is absolutely amazing - she is quick to responded and pleasant to deal with. This cottage is located right on the water, with beach access directly from the property. The cottage is nestled back off the road creating a ton of privacy. You have everything you need in this cottage to enjoy your stay. There are many walking / hiking trails in the area that you can enjoy as well as a few good breweries and you also have the option of having bonfires nightly. If you're looking for some quite relaxing times, this is the place for you. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning.

This is a stunning cottage, full of thoughtful touches, stylish without being pretentious, comfortable, quiet, private and family friendly. All modern conveniences, well stocked and ready to enjoy your time at the lake. Lovely beach, sandy bottom to the lake, private. Fire pit, raised balcony off living area, two baths, outdoor hot shower, comfortable outdoor chairs , nicely landscaped, shady all around property, quiet lane to walk on. The pictures of this place do not do it justice! The new reno's inside and out, make this private little hideaway a luxury retreat!
The cottage has everything you need and then some! From kitchen items, inside and outside games, you name it they will have it. The location is perfect! It is a private little section of the woods yet a quick drive to anything you need. Beaches, restaurants, parks, groceries etc.
If you have the windows open you will love napping or falling asleep to the sound of the waves in any of the rooms and bedrooms
The views of the lake and sunsets will blow your mind from the top of the hill you are on.
Check-in and check-out were a breeze! Jennifer is super quick to respond to any questions and concerns and will make sure you have everything you need.

Paradise, again!
This is the 2nd time I returned to Hideaway with my friends. It's my favourite cottage and I cant wait to go back there!
Jennifer and team have done an awesome job renovating and transforming the cottage this year, which made our experience even more rewarding!
Everything is perfect at this cottage - the kitchen, the comfy couch, the bedrooms, the furniture on the balcony, patio and deck, the firepit, and I love the spacious washrooms.

A beautiful, clean and well equipped cottage!
The rooms are well appointed and beds are comfortable. The living room and kitchen is spacious, just as shown in the photos. Loved the Gas Stove! The supply of crockery, cutlery, bowls, pots pans are sufficient. The 2 bathrooms are quite spacious, with private toilet room and there is also a covered outdoor shower.
The BBQ was brand new. The lake views are absolutely gorgeous. The cottage is so private, there are no other homes to be seen on either side. Its a perfect place for rest and relaxation. Wish there could be stairs built to provide access to the lake, that would make the experience really complete.
Jennifer and Lea were wonderful - they took such great care of us, and ensured all our questions were answered. They very promptly responded to couple of service calls and fixed things right away.

The Hideaway was so private and tranquil, the beach/water was beyond beautiful! Overall fantastic!
It was the perfect family vacation! The Hideaway is tucked privately away in the trees, overlooking beautiful Lake Huron. Everyday was a different experience with the ever changing water and waves, but was balanced with relaxation and activity. The deck was perfect for morning coffee and yoga, and to watch sunsets at night - the beach was so private and breathtaking - my boys felt like they were at the ocean! Given there is no stair access on the property to the beach, if you want to go down to the beach from the property you do have to have good mobility - otherwise there is a public access to the north of the cottage - either way the trek to the beach is highly recommended!!!! Jennifer was a pleasure to communicate with and left welcoming treats for the whole family including Finn!

Modern and Comfortable Cottage
Arrived and found the cottage clean and ready to go. Beautiful floors and comfortable couches. TV has all the apps you need like Netflix, Prime Video and the major news networks. Internet was solid and responsive. Could not find oven mitts and a milk bag container but Jennifer from Cottage Stays got these items to us the next day!
The shower downstairs was tiled and huge as was the upstairs shower. Fans on the main floor and in the master bedroom with entrance to the balcony outside. This cottage has no gas barbecue despite being on natural gas. No washer or dryer so hanging the wet clothes on the balcony was in order to air dry. Access to the beach is a few cottages down and has many steps down to the beach, quite a climb back up, but the beach and the water was terrific, bring water shoes. Residents when you see them are friendly. Had a great time overall. Lovely, modern open space.

Perfect and private!
We loved it. We were 3 adults looking for a quiet place to listen to the waves and read. We couldn’t have found a better place!
It was very private. There is no one nearby. The walk down to the beach is not on the property but you can reach the beach in front of the property through a public path. You have to climb over a few obstacles though so you need to have good mobility.
The cottage was spotless and it was so nice to receive fresh flowers and a little box of cookies...so welcoming.
The property and especially the view is unbelievably beautiful. There are so many windows and a nice balcony for coffee in the morning and views of Lake Huron. Lake Huron is very beautiful and wild. Every day the waves and sky provided a new experience.
The town of Bayfield was close by. We went there for dinner and a few lunches and walked around. We loved the great food and walked there for a few hours.
This was the perfect get together with my partner and I and my sister. After a long year of isolation (we are all vaccinated now) it was truly the best therapy we could have hoped for.

Wonderful experience
My husband and I rented the HideAway for one week in mid June. The property offers beautiful waterfront views and wonderful sunsets. The beach access is just a quick walk up the road and down a set of steps - in the 7 days we stayed here, we only saw 2 other people on the beach. If you’re looking for an extremely relaxing, peaceful, and private cottage experience, I highly recommend staying here. The cottage itself is clean and well equipped with everything you might need. We really enjoyed some beautiful sunny and private beach days, barbecuing and hanging out around a fire outside, and enjoying drinks on the raised deck while watching the sunset. Being able to watch Netflix in the living room during one rainy night was also a plus. The town of Bayfield is super close by and offers lots of great dining and shopping. Our dog also loved staying here, and we are so thankful we could bring her! We will definitely be returning to the HideAway again. .

This was a nice quiet property with a stunning view. We had a wonderful stay of just pure family time. A great break from the crazy year we all just had. Will come back in the summer for sure - nice sandy beach area, kids had a blast!

Blissful Hideaway
Very peaceful location surrounded by trees with a beautiful view of Lake Huron. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of the water. Spacious cottage with lots of wonderful features. My family enjoyed a memorable week at the cottage and in the Bluewater community.
