About this house rental
You are sure to love this cozy lake front cottage. Whether you are sitting by the fire, watching the kids kayak across the cove or sipping a cocktail on the dock, it’s hard not to feel relaxed at Red Sky Lake House.
We have 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms with comfortable sleeping space for 8 guests. This lake home sits on a beautiful wooded lot with 4 steps to the front door and the main house is all on one level., wrap around decking on both the main level and basement level. It has 4 bedrooms, the primary suite has a king bed with an en suite with jetted tub and separate shower. One guest room guest room has a queen bed, one with a full bed over looking the lake and one with 2 twin beds that can be made in to a king bed. All bedding, towels and beach towels are provided. Even dog towels are provided. (There is a pet fee of $120. If you have more than 2 pets please let us know so we can take that under advisement and if agreed upon, we will collect an additional pet fee.)
This cottage comes complete with a margarita machine, espresso machine, keurig, coffee pot, tons of games for the family, fire pit, bar-b-a grill, awesome porch and a large dock for fishing. We have lots of fun water toys for rent as well. We have 2 large kayaks, large splash pad and a 23 ft. Sylvan Pontoon Boat for rent! There is no shortage of fun here. You can even walk to a great lakeside restaurant with live music, karaoke and ice cream for the kids.

We made a last minute decision to book a lakehouse for a quick 5 day / 4 night getaway, and Red Sky was absolutely perfect. The property is located in a nice cove where you can watch the sun come up every morning out on the spacious deck. There was plenty of room at the dock for our boat, and the house was spacious, comfortable, and clean and had everything you need to enjoy some time away. Terra is great to work with, and everything in the home is in good working order. We would definitely rent again!

This is the 2nd stay at this house and it is the one we will continue to stay in when we go on vacation at Badin.
Terra has thought of everything, and all the special touches make you feel like it is home. There are lots of lake toys to rent and enjoy and we all enjoyed the lake mats this year! It was great for our grandkids as they are not yet great swimmers.
We appreciate being able to bring our fur babies with us, it would not be vacation without them being a part of it.
Definitely a house worth staying at and excellent communication with Terra. The perfect house for our trip!!

This is an immaculate property! Everything is clean and you don’t have to bring a ton of extras just to start enjoying your time. Plenty of towels, blankets, kitchen and bathroom supplies. The bathrooms have shampoo and conditioner and body wash to use.
The outdoor water toys were super fun. My kids used them all and explored the nearby shorelines for turtles and otters. We fished off the dock and off the boat. Our last night my son caught his first fish off the dock. The hosts were extremely efficient with communicating with us and helped with any issues that arose!!
One thing to remember is the grocery is about 20 minutes away, so if you want to bring a cooler to stock up for the first night and the next morning that would be best. Also, not a lot of restaurants so plan to cook at the house! We had a wonderful time!!

This is an amazing property. Pack your favorite snacks, bathing suit and toiletries. Terra has everything else you will need there and available. House was immaculate, warm and welcoming. Our stay at Red Sky Lodge was nothing short of amazing. The house was very clean and tastefully decorated. It slept 3 couples + 1 more adult very comfortably. The views were breathtaking and the entire feel of the house was serene. Perfect for summer or fall rentals! Red Sky House at Badin Lake was a perfect place for a family Christmas gathering. It's half way between Georgia and Virginia. It's a beautiful lake front property with plenty of room. It has adorable nautical decorations. The owner also had put up a beautiful tree with lights for us to enjoy. It was super cold outside but with the fireplace it was cozy inside. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, plenty of games to enjoy and the beds were comfortable. Terra, the owner was quick to answer any questions and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be planning a return stay.

Beautiful home in a wooded area has everything you would want! The location is perfect and having a beautiful boat available to rent is ideal. The kitchen feels like home - it has everything you would need and more. Great porch facing the lake to catch the breeze. The king bed is comfy and is dressed with nice linens. The host was very responsive and it was a joy meeting her! We will be staying again. Don’t miss this one!

The house was wonderful. Plenty of room for everyone. Everyone enjoyed swimming and fishing. My husband is recovering from a heart attack and stroke and it was so good to see him fishing with his grandsons. He really enjoyed himself.

Great house, as pictured and described, spotless and homey. Very well appointed down to q-tips and laundry detergent, even spices/ziplocks/foil/trash bags, as well as a bag of popcorn and a couple of waters. Beds comfy. AC works great. Owners respond quickly and easy to work with, even purchased a griddle after we asked if one available. We rented boat and lake toys which were all in good working order, and made this rental top of our list. Only con, which wasn’t an issue at all for us, was the porch and deck in the process of being refinished. This did not affect any part of our trip. Aesthetic only. This should not be an issue for anyone. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommend. Will stay here again!

What a beautiful home!
Our little family have dealt with a lot over the last several months. After our little boy entered the world too early and we added an extended NICU stay to our stress load, I declared that we needed a BREAK even if just for a few days when he got home. I started hunting around for something secluded where we could be left alone, still have a good time, but keep our tiny little guy safe all at the same time. I stumbled upon this property and decided we would give it a shot.
We have stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and I have to say that this was by far the cleanest home we've ever rented across the board. I was shocked when I entered room after room and each was clean and beautifully decorated. The owners thought of every little thing you'd need from kitchenware, a martini and wine area, Keurig, right down to a flat iron and make up wipes. My two year old daughter even discovered a cabinet of toys and games (as she proudly carried a tub of legos across the room one day LOL).
We spent our weekend fishing, enjoying the fire pit in the evenings, spending time together as a family, and of course relaxing! Our lab joined our vacation and enjoyed running around the yard, collecting sticks, and playing on the deck. I would definitely recommend this rental for families as it was very child proof (we have a 6yo, 2yo, and a newborn). The deck had gates at each stairway so we were able to confine the kids and dog to the deck and relax on the swing or in the chairs, while they ran around like crazy people and burned off some energy. :)
If you're looking for a place to rent that is private and beautiful any time of the year, this is the one. My only suggestion would be to grab groceries on your way to the house, otherwise you'll be leaving again and driving back out to the local store (though it wasn't THAT far). If you want a meal out, I would also recommend the little restaurant right down the road from the house called "Scallywags". We ordered dinner to go from them two nights and everything was excellent. It's definitely within walking distance!

Newly Found Badin Lake Gem
I think the best review one can give is that you would want to return to a property. We had the best time over Christmas-can’t believe how much more fun it would be during in-season when you could get in the water! House was clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. Great decor and additional touches we have never encountered in a rental. We were 6 adults and we all couldn’t say enough about Red Sky. Comfortable beds, great FP, wonderful wrapping porch/partially covered. Beautiful lakefront view. Communicative and friendly Owner. Can’t wait to return.

Perfect family destination
Our stay was sooo nice with a perfect single floor plan arrangement that made interaction with our family members just what we wanted it to be, everyone together!! The house was so beautifully done, fitting for a lake vacation get away. The beds were comfortable & the place was clean, which isn’t the case in some properties we have rented in the past.
The owner could not have been more helpful or friendly, making you instantly comfortable in her home, while encouraging you to feel free to enjoy all the amenities they offered.
We will be looking forward to hopefully going again & for a longer stay next year, good Lord willing!!

Peaceful Lakefront Retreat
Indulge yourself in a tranquil respite at this beautiful home. Our thoughtful host saw to our every need, including a personalized welcome and surprise goodies for us in the freezer. This home has it's own personality which you'll get to know through the humorous signage through out the property. Life doesn't get any better than watching your crew fish off the dock and swim from the back porch, which is right on the water. Beds are comfortable, kitchen has all you need & washer and dryer are so convenient. You can't go wrong staying at Red Sky.

Red Sky Lake House is the perfect vacation retreat. Every thing you could possibly want is supplied for a fun stay. From a fully stocked kitchen, to toiletries in every room, beach towels for lake swimming and floats to spend a lazy day relaxing. This is our second stay and are looking forward to our third.

Our stay at Red sky lake house was the best we've had!
Terra is an awesome host, she replied quickly, and is very nice . The house inside was very clean , the AC worked perfectly, kept the whole house the right temp for us. Each bathroom was well
stocked with lots of towels , and beach towels for the lake, lots of floats , to play on in the water, noodles, the splash pad! There's so much to do here! We weren't bored even when it rained , there's lots of board games to play , also corn hole and Big block Jenga! Which was my kids favorite. And the early morning hours sitting out on the top deck was my favorite time and place, to drink my coffee and watch everything beginning to stir , Canadian geese floating by the dock and some type of water bird diving under for fish, it was so peaceful and relaxing. It was good fishing off the dock to, my husband caught a few good sized cat fish and rock bass, they all caught lots of those white striped bass, we all had a great time here . I would definitely recommend Terra's Red sky lake house!!

The covered porch was an ideal place to soak in the serenity of the water and enjoy a cold beverage. Terra was wonderful to work with and was always available for questions. We have utilized vacation rental homes for years and Red Sky was the cleanest and most well stocked by far. The towels are of excellent quality and quantity. The bed linens are very comfortable and not worn. The kitchen is well stocked and very functional. While the house is not huge by any means, it is very comfortable and easily accommodates eight guests. We had nine for a brief period of time, but there is adequate space to squeeze in the additional teen or two. The splash pad, floats, boat, and raft for pulling behind the boat were a big hit with the kids as were the many board games. Much to the teens relief, there was also excellent WiFi.The main house is on ground level along with the covered front porch; a big plus for those of us with bad knees. There is also plenty of dock space, lake access for swimming, and a fire pit. There is ample seating for the top and lower decks. As a home improvement fan, I can say Terra holds her own as a professional “No Demo Reno” expert. While it is an older home, it has been redone beautifully in relaxing tones that enhances the feeling of vacationing on the lake.The only less than ideal aspect of the house is the limited dining space inside. But Terra and Scott have utilized the space available as much as possible and there is a very large coffee table that functions well as an overfow eating area, especially for those comfortable sitting criss cross applesauce. There is also ample dining space outside on the lower deck.Much to our surprise, Terra had the house stocked with initial supplies of paper products, soap, dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, and garbage bags. We could not have asked for a more well equipped, cleaner, or more peaceful home to spend our vacation. Thank you Terra and Scott for a wonderful week!

Went for a few day stay at the Dotson's Lake House. Terra was wonderful to communicate with, got back to me right away. She thought of all the detailed things that would make a great family trip!! It is a cozy and super clean home, very comfortable, great decor, and their boat rental and kayaks were an extra bonus. Scott took the time to explain all about the boat and where our dog can safely swim.I would recommend their home in a second, one of the best we have vacationed at!!! Don't hesitate, book it soon!
