Completely renovated, this updated condo retreat offers a beach experience and a private space located next to the historical Assawoman Canal- constructed in 1891! Furnished with cool sophisticated décor, this retreat and boasts a large two-story great room. Any downtime will be well-spent on the screened porch with naps on the porch, lounging in the rockers with a good book, sharing a meal on the round dining table, or sunning yourself on the deck. The property abounds with stunning views of the pine forests around the canal. Dance to music on the Bluetooth sound system in the great room. Keep your electronics charged and ready with USB ports in each room.
On the main level, there are three inviting bedrooms and two bathrooms, one suite with a king bed and adjoining bath with walk-in shower, the other two have twin beds. The second-level houses a second suite with a king bed and a separate bath with a walk-in shower. You want to sleep late? Blackout curtains are present in each bedroom. If your office requires you to bring work to the beach, there is an office with a large PC screen on the second floor. Two of the bedrooms have desks for work as well. With the super-fast fiber WiFi, you will be able to connect flawlessly! To entertain yourselves, there are plenty of books and games, plus five Smart TVs (Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime-capable with guest's own account), and Blu-ray in the great room. There will be construction in the community from October 2023 through the spring of 2024. There will be noise related to various projects such as roof repair, piling repair, exterior painting, and road repair, but the vacation rental will be accessible at all times.
The Sea Colony Recreational Association requires a per person resort fee for guests ages 4 and older. This fee varies by time of year and is mandatory.
Delaware regulations require all guests sign a lease agreement within 10 days of booking. A lease agreement will be sent within 24 hours of booking and an electronic signature is required before final check-in information is made available.

We checked out Ocean City and definitely Bethany Beach was the better option. The downtown area was shockingly open!
The kitchen is stocked with cookware beautifully. Loved the bathrooms and the layout. There was so much space.
The keyless entry is beautiful. Super convenient location!
My only notes:
-The wifi is pretty slow, so streaming is a bit choppy.
-The pool doesn’t offer towel service and there aren’t pool towels at the house, so be prepared for that if you plan on using the pool.
-There was only one kitchen towel, so use sparingly!
Otherwise it was pretty dreamy!

Great stay
We had a great stay here. The location is excellent and the house was very nice -- clean, comfortable, and updated. We really had a nice time and could easily have stayed longer and continued to enjoy ourselves. The customer service at Vacasa was also excellent. Highly recommended for families looking to get away.

Not really a beach house, ridiculous fees
This place would make a lovely apartment or condo in a major city, but in terms of a beach house it falls short.
There is no grill, there is no supplied beach gear, you are not given access to a storage locker for your sandy stuff. There’s nowhere to shelter bikes or beach chairs or any of the stuff you associate with a beach vacation. It’s also a second and third floor unit so you have to haul everything up and down stairs every day.
They spent a lot of money to make it look beautiful on the web, but it lacks a lot of the practical amenities you look for in a beach house.
The check in system is a mess. They force you to go to a building about a mile from the house to get keys and badges. They also refused to share check in information until the morning of your arrival day.
They charged us an unbelievable amount in fees for a one week stay. With fees that high you’d expect a luxury check in experience. Nope. Wait in line for your paperwork — they couldn’t possibly be bothered to put that stuff in the condo for you.
Vacasa refused to detail these fees, and VRBO took a cut too. I asked repeatedly who I was booking with — Vacasa or VRBO. Apparently it was both since both charged absolutely insane booking fees. Yes — you will pay booking fees to both companies if you book a Vacasa property through VRBO. And both companies will refuse to give you details on what those fees are going towards unless you absolutely badger them. Even then it was still kind of vague.
Sad to see so many Bethany places turn into this kind of anti-consumer corporate kind of thing. Build your fees into your nightly rates so that consumers can compare apples to apples. Don’t just spring them on them at the end of the process with no explanation.
We will be looking for a better place to stay next year that doesn’t change so many ridiculous fees.

Awesome Trip
Everything from start to finish was seamless the only reason I gave 4-stars was due to the email about check-in telling me to go across the street to another building when we easily found the Vacasa check-in building but didn’t know it!! Fix this very confusing bug and the whole process is super easy and perfect. Great trip, all had a wonderful time in this beautiful unit, lots to do, shuttles were fun and entertaining ... everything close by! Can’t wait to go back!!!

Two weeks of fun!
We really enjoyed our stay. The condo was clean and well stocked with kitchen items. The master bed was really comfortable too. We biked everywhere but there is a tram stop close by. Would definitely recommend this property!
