Central Braidwood
Walking to great food
Freshly renovated shared bathroom with heated floors and spacious shower cubicles with toilet .
Friendly staff .
Fabulous value for money .
Downstairs tired and veranda
Double beds in rooms .
No comfortable lounge for hanging that we found .(?) May be one would have liked a run down of facilities and perhaps a map .

I loved the hotel, it has so much character. We had a balcony room with shared bathroom, the view to the adjoining park is lovely. The accommodation has been upgraded, still pretty basic, but comfortable and it such a great position to wander around town. The set up for the bathroom was pretty good, so no issue not being attached to room. It was in a great spot, the staff were great and it had a great atmosphere.
There was a band playing on one of the nights we stayed, it seemed that the party goers made their way upstairs to hang out in empty rooms and use the guest bathrooms, or it was guests! All a bit unsavoury and made us a bit uncomfortable. The next morning the bathroom was in a pretty bad state, broken glass in the basin and very messy! We just hung out in the front bar till the band packed up, other than that though, we had a great stay. I would still recommend staying here, it is a pub after all.

Great staff and very family friendly. Local were very welcoming.
A very minor criticism, the room lack any full length hanging facilities. Mentioned this to the staff and it is probably remedied by the time you read this review.

Newly renovated bathrooms were great.
I didn’t realise when I booked it was a room with shared facilities.
4.0 / 5.0
This accommodation is deceptive from the outside. The room we stayed in had a boutique style. The (mens!) bathroom with showers was recently refurbished. I recommend it.
The staff in the bar appeared to be have a 'surly' night.

Ladies bathroom bath gurgled when washing hands in vanity. Showered in men's bathroom at same time as husband as renovated

Rooms were clean and comfortable.
They were very cold. The heaters were not sufficient to keep the rooms warm.

Clean, quaint old pub style accomodation. The men’s share bathroom was really well presented
Squeaky floors

Room was clean and comfortable.
For the price, motel is much better option.
Loud music from the bar area continued to almost midnight which was mildly disruptive.
On site restaurant was in the pricey side.

Right in the centre of town, room was cosy
Bathrooms are very dated but about to be renovated!

We just used the room to sleep, very happy to see that the bathrooms are getting a total revamp.
Definitely the remaining bathrooms needs an overhaul.

location, ease of booking and stay, cleanness, pet friendly!
bathroom and toilet facilities were very basic and only one available on room floor for the ladies….
4.5 / 5.0
The room was clean and tidy, the towels were nice and the bed was comfy. The shared bathroom was also very clean. The location was perfect to everything I needed.
The back carpark was very muddy from the rain and difficult to move around in, and there was a dog that was barking and upset for a decent amount of the night

Didn't have breakfast
All was as expected. No complaints.
2.5 / 5.0
I didn't expect that it would be a shared bathroom outside the room. It was like a motel but the room is clean.

Check-in was efficient and friendly. The place was also surprisingly quiet for traditional Aussie hotel accommodation. The room was basic but clean and nice looking. The Royal is close to all the eateries. Returning late at night (after a nearby wedding) wasn't problematic. In short, the property is good value, so long as you don't anticipate spending a lot of time in your room (because, to be clear, there's no table to eat, read or work at).
The shower and toilets are "down the hall" for most guests. (That's why the cost is low, so no grumbling permitted about that.) However, I'd have liked somewhere to rest my shaving gear/toiletries at the basins/in the shower. A bit of board, some brackets and a few screws would fix this problem. Someone told me, though, that new bathrooms are on the way. If that's true, this problem will soon be fixed.

It was such a surprise to walk in to our room, it was clean, bright and the bathroom newly renovated. It was nice a quiet at night giving us both a very restful sleep.
It would have been nice to have a queen bed and one less single bed in the room.

The property has been beautifully renovated since I last stayed. The rooms are really comfortable, clean and very tastefully decorated.
Nothing, everything about my stay was great, especially the Staff who were not only warm and welcoming but went out of their way to help me fix the problem when we discovered that I had only booked for one night instead of the two night I intended on staying.

nothing
old, tired, room not ready, hard to enter at 9.30pm

True blue dinkie dye aussie pub. Great location.
Women's bathroom lacks privacy.

the location was suitable for our needs
the shared toilet/ bathrooms were disgustingly dirty, stained and unclean. I can provide photos.
3.5 / 5.0
The bathrooms were being renovated which was not on the website and it we weren't told of the extent of it, or the noise right outside our door first thing in the morning.
This was disappointing.
