About this house rental
This charming house is fondly known as The Front Office. It was built in 1929 as business premises for Jones & Sandford Ltd, one of New Plymouth's oldest surviving timber/construction firms. Over the years the owners have brought it into the 21st century with a modern, urban industrial mix with aged features creating a very special and unique space.
The living area feels expansive with high ceiling and large doors that open out to a deck area to beautifully manicured gardens. Special touches create a warm relaxed feel where you can curl up on the couch with a good book. The chef's kitchen is the hub of the house which brings everyone together. It is an outstanding space which is nothing short of wow. Art adorns the walls which captures the ambience and it's sense of luxury.
Three beautifully appointed bedrooms. A huge master bedroom with a comfortable king bed is in a separate wing of the house with its ownultra modern bathroom. In the other wing is a bedroom with two comfortable king beds which you walk though down a passage to another bathroom and the third large bedroom with a queen bed. Additional features include a laundry area with a washing machine and clothes drier, unlimited wifi & central heating throughout. Great off Street Parking in a large carpark area right outside the house, which services Mitre 10 and the Jones and Sandford building.
Right on St Aubyn Street you are a ten minute walk to the CBD for Arts Culture & Shopping. A five minute walk the NP Aquatic Centre and then onto the Scenic Coastal Walkway. Plenty of cafes and takeaways conveniently located close by. Don't miss the opportunity to stay somewhere that has such great local history. Book today.
Please note the cleaning fee: All linen & towels are provided by a commercial linen company and are professionally laundered. Properties have been cleaned prior to guests arrival to meet the Ministry of Health commercial cleaning standards. A part end of stay cleaning service is included. This covers the cleaning of bathrooms, mopping and rubbish removal. Guests are required to leave the property in a tidy and clean state all dishes are washed/the dishwasher loaded and turned on prior to departure.
All Bach Break properties come well equipped with cooking oil, salt, pepper, coffee, tea, milk, cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper, liquid hand soap and body wash.

A spacious house with good amenities and some interesting history. Nice and clean. Only downsides were the keybox was hard to locate and to get to the third bedroom you had to go through the 2nd bedroom. Overall very positive.

Unusual property location, however, we loved the beautiful furnishings and bits n pieces including the amazing book collection. A very safe and peaceful place to stay. We will definitely return in future.

A superb getaway and a perfect retreat to catch up with friends. A funky, fantastically well renovated ex-law office that had all the comforts. Expectation was well exceeded.

We stayed there over the weekend. Loved the spacious leaving room, rooms and beautiful master bathroom.
Kitchen was modern and fancy with changing colours of the lights under the cabinets.

Handy location. Great property. Everything we required, especially having two bathrooms as there were 4 women in our group and we needed to leave early in the morning each day. A great place to come home to too relax!

We stayed at this property for about a week.This is a beautiful property inside with a fantastic kitchen and large is fairly close to the walkway and centre of New Plymouth.( walking distance)The property management company was very responsive for any problems .It is on a State Highway en route to the Port and situated in a car park.The noise level is very high.

The Front Office is incredibly well appointed and spacious. It's definitely in the upper ranks of all such accommodation. For two couples it was perfect and we still had a room for one of us to work from while there. It's close to the CBD and is great value. If you're particularly concerned about road noise it may not suit but for us the other factors more than overcame that.

Loved staying here. We were initially surprised by the location as it sits within the Mitre 10 carpark however once inside it is spacious, clean and very private. We stayed over a long weekend which saw a lot of rain so the house offered a great refuge for us. Unfortunately we didn’t get to utilise the outdoor BBQ and dining area but this would be great for afternoon lunch or dinners.
The kitchen is huge and had everything we needed. The bedrooms are also very large and comfortable. It’s been beautifully renovated. We would recommend this house and hope to return.
