We booked the accommodation a few weeks before our stay. We received NO communication from the host regarding check in even after I had contacted virbo to get the hosts phone number. We had to cancel our trip

Positive things - We had a 3 bed lodge for 3 nights for 4 adult family members. The lodge itself was lovely, clean and well equipped, adequate parking for our 2 vehicles. Location is in wooded area and we found it peaceful, even though an intercity train line runs close by, it didn't disturb us. Congleton and Macclesfield easily accessible by car. If you like gardens Biddulph Grange is well worth a visit.
Negative things - we should have had a hot tub for all 3 nights but a change to our lodge allocation meant we had no hot tub for night 1 and then had to transfer to another lodge in the morning of day 2 for the rest of the stay so we then did have a tub - which was great and we made good use of it. The first lodge had a strong drain smell but second lodge was fine. To fully enjoy the area around the lodges you do need a car.
