About this house rental
Relax at this beautiful spot located on the Ammonoosuc River. The sound of the river and the views of the mountains are amazing. Enjoy the fire pit with S'mores. Keep an eye out for the bald eagles and local wildlife. This 3 bed 2 1/2 bath (4 bed 3 1/2 if the "Bear Den" is rented see details) is the perfect space for families and couples and to get away from it all.
The house is located on the river, has a firepit, and is great for families and couples. The upstairs has 3 bedrooms 2 1/2 baths - First floor master has a new California King bed, upstairs has one Queen Bed and one bedroom with 3 Twins. If the In Law unit "Bear Den" is rented (additional charge) - add an additional new King bed and a pull out leather queen sofa and full bath making the house a 4 bedrooms 3 1/2 baths. The "Bear Den" is a perfect option for families and couples as it is a true in law unit which is NOT included in the upstair rental. It has a bedroom with a king bed, kitchen, living room, pull out queen leather sofa couch, which sleeps 2, walk out patio, and connects to the upstairs unit. If not rented it is locked off. We NEVER rent out the house to separate groups. The "Bear Den" is a separate unit with its own entrance and has a staircase connecting to the upstair unit. There is Air conditioning in the "Bear Den" but is it rarely needed. The snow mobile trail is across the street and it is a 7-8 min drive to Bretton Woods and a 14 min drive to Cannon.
Located in the White Mountains this neighborhood is quiet and close to all the Bretton Woods, Mt. Washington area has to offer.
The house is directly on the Ammonoosuc River and the snowmobile trail is right across the street. There is plenty of parking enough for snow mobile trailers.
We require a rental agreement to be signed and a security deposit.

Comms with the owner were great. clean and inviting. Bears right across from us, eagles letting a hawk know it intruded their territory right in front of us at a bit over eye level, deer, the river...would go again!

Just returned from a 3 night stay and our group was very impressed. Mark is a fantastic host and he really cares about his guests. We had an issue with the grill and he came out immediately to take a look. I didn’t expect that. The house is stunning and the sleeping areas are spread out so each family had their own space. The river view is amazing and we got to see a bald eagle. Spent a lot of time walking up and down the river just enjoying the peace and tranquility while others in our group went to Santa’s Village and Lost River. Checked out the local pubs and did some shopping too. We felt very welcome the minute we walked in with an information packet and a couple of complimentary mugs sitting in the counter. Highly recommend this property and hope to return one day. Thank you Mark for a beautiful 3 day weekend.

Thanks to Mark we had a blissful Thanksgiving w our friends and family. The house was cozy, full of beautiful details abd very clean. It was snowy Thanksgiving so we spent most of our time indoor, but the kids had fun with watching TV, playing games, and making smores near the fireplace.

Everyone in our party enjoyed their stay at the Bald Eagle house. We even saw the eagle several times and caught trout right from the backyard. I'm 74 and went upriver and tubed safely down to the house several times. The walk on the ski mobile trail to the 2nd pond was very enjoyable. We had 9 in our party and everyone had their privacy. The house was very clean and slept 9 people comfortably. Would love to go back and stay for a 2nd week next summer

Beautiful view, lazy river rides, catching trout, bonfires and s’mores and a large enough yard to play badminton and frisbee. What more can you ask for?? We had a great time, thanks for letting us stay in your wonderful home!

Upon pulling into the driveway we were welcomed with gorgeous river views and a beautifully landscaped yard.
Approaching the main porch there is ample built in seating and a convenient grill.
Entering the home you are greeted with a bear themed “mountain house” feel. Natural light is abundant in the living room and kitchen areas. What we especially liked was the forethought of the placement of windows, there really isn’t a bad view to be had.
The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances and conveniences you would need.
A highlight for our family was both the deck off the dining room as well as the patio underneath.
The River view is top notch, the way it winds through the property and the sounds it produces are very calming and therapeutic.
We had the privilege of seeing an American Bald Eagle every day we were there. What a sight to see in their natural environment.
Nights can be spent listening to some good tunes and making s’mores around the fire pit situated right near the river.
This home and property was a dream come true, and Mark was very attentive and punctual if you needed anything at all. It was our families pleasure to stay here and we would not hesitate to visit again.

The whole family enjoyed this lovely mountain spot along the river. We spent lots of time outside in the expansive yard along the river and by the fireside in the evening with hundreds of stars! There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The host Mark was easily reachable and responsive to questions. It is a short ride to a refreshingly beautiful lake and mountains. We will be back!

House and property is beautiful but if you have kids figure out a different place to swim, which there are plenty of around. Great for dogs. Wifi was very good. Bring your own outdoor towels.

Great place to unwind with family. We had four generations of family together and had a blast. Besides all the good things other reviews have said, I liked to point out the good quality of kitchenware with lots of counter space, newer appliances and furniture and comfortable beds. This is one of the top places we have stayed.

We had an amazing vacation at the Riverhouse.
The home is beautiful, comfortable and clean.
The views on the river can’t be beat. Such a tranquil, peaceful spot. We even had a visit from the Bald Eagle who spent about 20 minutes sitting on the river bank. What an amazing sight.
We cooked big family meals in the well-equipped kitchen, made S’mores at the fire pit and played board games in the living room in front of a toasty fire.
Went skiing at Bretton Woods, tubing at Cranmore Mountain and took a ride in a horse drawn sleigh at Nestlenook Farm.
The location of this house is perfect, close to so many activities.
As we were packing up to go home, we were already planning a return trip to the Riverhouse!
Thank you, Mark, for your hospitality!!

Great space for our family of four (could have fit more!) to have a few days away. Large kitchen and living area with a great fireplace. Beautiful spot on the river where we saw bald eagles fly by and stayed warm while the snow flurries flew. Well appointed home with everything we needed and in a spot that allowed us to venture about 20-25 min in any direction to see the area. Enjoyed a trip to Santa’s Village, explored the Mt Washington cog railway, and tried restaurants in Gorham and Littleton. We’d love to go back!

Can't say enough positive things about the property and location. Fall provided us with a spectacular show of colours and weather. The river attracts plenty of wildlife, and we had regular visits by the resident eagles. We had the opportunity to meet Mark the owner, he couldn't be more helpful and we had a long conversation about fishing the river and he offered me plenty of tips, much appreciated!!. Great host, great location, we will be back

This was our second time staying at Mark's property. It is a great location and both times we've had amazing weather and could sit by the river or hop in the car and in 20min be at Santa's Village or 10min down the road to Mount Washington Hotel spa among many other activities. Super clean, extremely well appointed home. We'll definitely be back.
