We are two best friends who have always dreamed of having a lake house together. We recently purchased and remodeled this 4 bedroom, 2,700 square foot lakefront home and we would love to share it with you and your family. Our vision was to transform and create a space with upscale design and decor that encompasses modern, urban and rustic styles for your lake vacation.
FireFly sleeps 14 comfortably with 4 bedrooms. The first level has the master bedroom/bath with a breathtaking view of the cove and private deck with plenty of seating. There are 2 additional bedrooms and a guest bathroom on this level. The newly remodeled kitchen has a gorgeous view of the cove. Take a few steps down to the living room and marvel in the soaring ceilings and oversized windows with lots of natural light. There is also a soothing electric fireplace for winter month rentals. The living area also has access to the upper deck with gas grill and plenty of outdoor tables and comfortable seating.
In the lower level, you will find the bar with TV and ice maker, large double bunk room for the kids, 1/2 bath, laundry room and ping pong table and arcade video game room. This space has unique design themes with blue custom flooring that resembles the lake water.
The bar area leads out to a covered patio with outdoor furniture and fire table...just steps away from the lake with a private expansive 2 slip dock (one available for renters). There is also a second level on the dock that is ideal for laying in the sun (there is no jumping from the second level of the dock per insurance guidelines). Floatable toys, kayak, standing paddle board, some fishing gear and a lilly pad are all available for renters to enjoy. Boats are welcome, as there is one slip available for renters. There are also many boat rental places close by that will deliver a boat to our dock. There is a public boat ramp just minutes away and plenty of room to park a trailer and multiple cars in the driveway.
This is a family-friendly rental space that has neighbors who are mostly year-round residents. This is not a party cove and we are seeking renters who understand the family atmosphere that is present in this cove. For safety and insurance purposes there is an exterior ring camera. We also realize cleanliness is important to our guests and we have adopted strict cleaning and disinfecting practices between guests so you can rest assured that you are entering an immaculately cleaned space for your vacation.
FireFly is located on the 8 mile marker in South Buck Creek Cove situated between Big Thunder/Mystic Marina and Lake Shore Marina. Grocery, restaurants, gas, tackle, and convenience stores are about 7 minutes by car.

There is a lot of space to spread out inside. Plenty of seating when relaxing in the two living rooms, kids brought their Xbox & played on downstairs living room TV after a long day on the lake. We rented a boat and docked at the house overnight while we stayed. The dock is spacious & the kids all enjoyed fishing, floating on the lily pad, & swimming off the dock. The kitchen had plenty of cookware & utensils, we cooked several meals. A grocery store is just 10 min away. (FYI: there’s a few miles of gravel to get to & from the house.) We were there during probably the hottest week of the summer, the AC did have trouble keeping up, but it felt good still when coming in from outside! The deck had plenty of seating too & we used the grill a couple times. There were several wasps nests including inside the patio umbrella, so we weren’t able to open it. The mosquitoes were pretty bad at night, so we only spent one evening eating on the deck. There are several nail heads sticking out of the decking, so shoes are a must on the deck! The primary suite was a nice layout, we didn’t use the soaker tub, but it looked nice! One night, I was the last to shower after 9 others & there was no hot water left..trying to get shampoo out of my hair took longer in the primary shower where there was consistently very little water pressure was- brrrr! The washer & dryer were a nice convenience, we didn’t have any dirty clothes to take back home. Overall, we enjoyed our stay & would stay here again!

We loved everything about this rental house. The location on the lake was ideal being in the quiet cove with views of the main channel. The house was very nice and well stocked for our week vacation. We visit the Ozarks each summer and would absolutely rent this home again. The owners were very responsive.

My family and I stayed at Firefly for a weekend getaway, and had a great time! The house was clean, spacious, and perfect for the 8 of us. The check-in and check-out processes were easy, and the ladies were always available if we needed them. We loved our stay at Firefly and would definitely recommend to anyone. While the house does show a few signs of aging, everything was in very good repair. The house is beautiful, as is the lake. Very easy to just sit back and relax.

Home was just as picture show! Beautiful home with tons of places to sleep and loads of extra towels and blankets! Enjoyed the dock and floating in the lake! Definitely would recommend to people and would rent again!

We came with 4 families to celebrate 3 special birthdays! The house was stunning and the owners thought of seriously everything! The views were amazing and the dock was so fun to hang out! We had plenty of room for our group of 10 both inside and outside! The dock toys were an added bonus! Grateful Lisa and robin were willing to share their little piece of paradise! Highly recommend this home!

This place was absolutely perfect for our group of 8. Every space in this house has been beautifully decorated. There was more space on the outside to enjoy as well. The location is close to shopping and several restaurants. The communication between Robin and I was so easy and she was quick to respond each time I reached out to her. The only thing I would have changed is the number of days that we stayed. We should have added a few more days. We will definitely be back to this place.

We live in Kansas City and wanted to go to the lake for a little getaway. Firefly LakeHouse was a great place to unwind. The house was very clean. The instructions were perfect. Cleaning expectations were more than reasonable. We look forward to our next stay here.

It was a seamless experience and very enjoyable. We felt right at home and were impressed with the attention to detail. The highlight for the little ones was jumping off the dock and playing in the water. Ping pong was also a fan favorite. We hope to come here again next year.

We brought our pontoon with us for a week at the lake. We chose this rental property based on the lake access, available covered dock for our boat and the ability to park our trailer in the driveway. It was easy putting in our boat in the water at the public ramp but there was another ramp very close to the house that would make it even simpler. We have a truck and a long trailer and were very happy with the driveway space to park. We had 3 kids with us and they were thrilled to each have their own room and plenty of space to hang out in. It was very hot the week of our stay so jumping off the dock and floating in the water were big hits with our family. We had many meals at the house but also loved the number of restaurants we could drive out boat to go eat at. The kids also loved the outdoor fireplace for making s'mores even in the heat!

Great Stay
We ended up taking both sides of the family. This was a great location and the house was set up perfectly. The owners communicated perfectly. Our trip was flawless and will rent again from this owner. My recommendation if you bring your boat bring extra bumpers. This is no way any fault to the owners. This is a nice quiet cove. However on the weekends due to heavy traffic on the main channel. (If you come to the LOTO often, then you know what I mean.) This tends to be a spot were others will go to tube and ski to get off the main channel. During the week it was fine. They just tend to rock the boats not on lifts. Bring a couple extra bumpers and you will be fine on both sides.

The outside space was SO much fun and kept everyone entertained from fishing and jumping off the dock, to the SUP and kayak.
The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfy, the washer and dryer was a nice bonus as were all the extra throw blankets.
We would definitely stay here again!!!

Lovely home on the lake
Three adult siblings and our families stayed here for a long weekend. The kids bunkroom, game room, and separate family room in the basement were perfect for the kids to have their own fun away from the adults.
The outside space was SO much fun and kept everyone entertained from fishing and jumping off the dock, to the SUP and kayak.
The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfy, the washer and dryer was a nice bonus as were all the extra throw blankets.

Wonderful Lake House
We absolutely loved this place. It had everything we needed for our large family reunion. Lots of functional room indoors. Very clean. All the housewares we needed, including an ice maker we took full advantage of. Lots of parking out front. Lots of room on the dock for our boat and two wave runners. Everyone loved jumping off the tall platform between the docks. Only mishap was when the dishwasher broke, but Robin and Lisa jumped right on it - stuff happens, what's important is how the owners react, which they did very quickly. We hope to be back sometime.

Looks just like the pictures but better!
Truly enjoyed our stay at the “firefly” enough room to accommodate our family comfortably. The house was clean, organized, and spacious. Supplies were easy to find and well stocked. Our stay was very relaxing with the beautiful view of the lake. The extra touches (game room & fire pit) was perfect for our game night and added an extra point for me. The only confusion I had with our stay was within the rule book for cleaning. We paid a cleaning fee, but within the book it stated we had to follow the cleaning rules in order to receive our deposit back. However, we never paid a (refundable) deposit nor did we expect one back. We asked for better clarification but it was still unclear why we paid the cleaning fee. It stated we had to clean prior to leaving in order to receive our full deposit back. It was a bit stressful cleaning for a larger group where at times we wanted to relax and enjoy our vacation time. I just think if we pay a cleaning fee doing laundry is a bit silly. Nonetheless the house is just like the pictures and beyond our expectations!

I cannot say enough positive things! Robin and Lisa were incredible with their communication from before the trip until after the trip even! They immediately helped when our GPS had us lost on our way in. They even reached out when one of my teens left their anklet and offered to mail it back. I was impressed with all interactions with them!
Everything was stunning just like in the pictures. The house was extremely clean and made us feel very safe related to COVID (especially since the locals in the grocery store and gas station looked at us like we were the crazy ones wearing masks). This house has so many little stairways and places to spread out. Our whole group literally loved everything about the house. My husband and I cooked together and dreamed of making our kitchen like this one. We could move around and work together and it was laid out so well. The main bedroom was a stunning retreat! I felt like I was in a luxurious dream there. The entire downstairs was so fun and my kids had the best time. My daughter is obsessed with watching videos about old video games and the pac man arcade game was literally all she could talk about the whole time and still keeps asking if we could get one for home. We all (adults, teens, and kids), played so much ping pong, it was awesome!
All the outdoor seating was incredible. We all spread out and I honestly didn't want to stop looking at the lake. The view went on and on and the sunrises were the absolute best! I would get up before all the family and just enjoy the coffee outside and watch the sun come up while listening to nature. We went fishing off the dock and were so surprised to actually catch fish in early April. My little kids caught their first fish ever! The teens loved the idea of sunbathing on the top deck, but unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough yet with the winds blowing in early April. But we really lucked into great weather with no rain to enjoy the rocking chairs on the porch.
It feels like they thought of everything! They had all the cooking supplies we could ever think of, plenty of spices, napkins, coffee, shower essentials, toliet paper, paper towels...I could keep going, but you see, they had more than we could have imagined.
We needed a family get away and this was the perfect house for a family bonding trip! We seriously had the best time! If you want a stunning, relaxing, yet fun vacation, this is the place for you! We can't wait to go back! Thank you Robin and Lisa!

Wonderful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at Firefly Lodge! We loved the location on a cove, and the covered dock was large enough to comfortably fit our group of 12. There is ample outdoor space on the decks and dock to enjoy the beautiful views and be close to the water. Jeff was great to communicate with. We highly recommend his beautiful home!
